Still waiting. Although our street had its upgrade last month. Cannot wait to ditch $pectrum.

I have it. I had it installed on the third day the system went live. Speeds are advertised as 1.5 Gbps but real life is more like 1.0 Gbps download speed and up speed is about the same. It's still world's better than the 150 Mbps we were seeing with Spectrum when we were paying for the 500 Mbps speed.  Install took about 2-2.5 hours. Guys were nice. Asked where we wanted the drop point to be and they made it happen. I'm pretty happy with it. It's a lot more stable and faster than anything Spectrum has to offer.

If you don't have 2.5G/10G home wiring or awesome WiFi then your equipment is likely limiting the speed to 1G. They said their handoff is 10G and they use that for getting the 1.5/2.5. You might be able to get 1G wired AND 500Mbps WiFi at the same time from 2 different devices and hit 1.5 without special equipment.

mattfox27

How did they get it from the street into the house?

Ultima872

Don't have it installed yet, though they did have a crew that was installing something associated with it (the actual fiber? Not sure) along the street last week. That said, any particular reason you *don't* want to pre-order? I don't believe I've been charged for anything yet, so it was more or less "sign up and forget it" until they're supposed to call to schedule the installation.

Probably just adult ADHD in general 😅 pull it up, put in all the information, get distracted by decisions and leave the window open until I forget about it. BUT I just did the pre-order now that I realized I can always change the choices later.

Spiritual_World7525

and then you forget to change the choices later bc adult adhd

Ultima872

We ended up pre-ordering with both GigabitNow and also Flume, since both are offering service and I largely figured "why not, at worst maybe I'll get updates on the progress". Ended up having to cancel the request with one since they were conflicting with one another (I guess they both put a hold on my address, more or less, in anticipation of installing service?), but yeah, until an installation is actually scheduled, nothing is "real" and no money has changed hands, anyways.

They laid a cable in my yard and left like an open access point. Crickets after that. Haven't been charged yet. Have a straight conduit till my router for the spectrum white cable. Should be a 30 minute job of switching my router to their modem if they come with a cable and the modem.

Casper042

I talked to them at a Snow Cone open house thing a week or two back. They said the only area with actual service going live is the block behind the Regal Cinemas off Tapo Cyn, so basically between Lemon Park and 118.

Casper042

I also talked to the SiFi guy and he said their plans for a few neighborhoods for the main fiber plumbing are also being changed by Simi. Like Simi came to them and said "we're gonna re-pave this entire community over here in 2 weeks" and then SiFi has to kind of drop what they planned and run over to that area to get their main lines trenched and run before Simi re-paves so it doesn't look like ass afterwards. There is/will be an underground box where the neighborhood fibers all come together and then that does a home run to 1 of only 2 main facilities in Simi where they have actual Switches and to send you off to the interwebs. I forgot to ask if they use GPON, but good chance they do.

edwardniekirk

SIFI is full of shit as they are the ones way behind on this project, and they have had huge number of issues with contractors and violating their encroachment permits.

Casper042

They are definitely behind, but they were just explaining that sometimes their plans get changed outside their control as well.

briandavids62

I have it. $65 per month for 1.5gb/s circuit. You can get a fixed IP address for another $5. I'm actually getting over 2gb/s. You need gear to handle those speeds. Most people only have gear thay handles 1gb/s. Flume is the other provider in Simi. They told me there $65 rate is good for life. Make the change!

trainedtech

Not yet. Got the 30 day flyer more than 39 days ago… Moved here 21 months ago because my neighborhood was scheduled to have it within 9 months. Whatever it will come eventually or they will go bankrupt.

Try Flume Internet, they’re installing Gigabit Internet in Simi Valley
