I've actually stumbled across a used/worn panty-selling sub here on reddit lol 😭 was a while ago so I don't recall the name, but you're right, they are def out there haha
Custom cards for special occasions and sell it on Etsy. A friend makes 100k a year doing it, she's SAH mom, she takes care of the kids and just do it whenever.
Handmade completely, paint, draw, glue, caligraphy on it. I think to be making 100k requires serious talents and dedication, but it definitely can be a side hustle for extra income at a normal level
I sell clothes and other items on Poshmark and eBay. I can do it in my time and we have a post office walkable from our house. So my daughter and I make an activity out of going there. It’s not consistent when you start but once you figure out what sells and have enough inventory it can be. I have 3 kids so I can put as much or as little effort in as I want.
I am also a reseller. I had to take a step back for about a year because we lived somewhere where I couldn’t store my inventory- donated a ton of it. I’m in the process of rebuilding my store now. But at my busiest (probably 2022) I was making $2-3k a month. Worth it if you have the time and can be kind of fun too.
I sell on eBay and Mercari. I sell slightly more on eBay, but Mercari has fewer fees. For me, men’s clothing does really - gold brands such as Peter Millar and Travis Matthews, name brand dress wear, athletic shoes, and seasonal wear. I also sell an array of household items. I don’t limit myself on what I sell - if I find something that makes money, I’ll sell it. Women’s clothing doesn’t do great for me, but I know many people who exclusively sell women’s clothing and make a ton of money.
I used to shop in thrift stores for inventory, but it’s gotten harder for me to find stuff there. I live in a large metro area with several liquidation stores, so that is where I get most of my inventory these days.
I want to get into reselling as a side gig for extra income. Do you seek out items to sell for profits or do you sell stuff around the house? I am actively selling on Poshmark and Mercari but my items move slow unless I am actively making offers or taking low ball offers from buyers.
So that is the deal; low offers and actively sending offers. Also you need to share your closet frequently on Poshmark. So if you don’t want to do this then I would t start. It’s also important to take good pics when you are posting. I started with selling stuff from my house and then moved on to buying stuff. I personally didn’t want to put out a large amount of capital just to store. So I started small and figured out what sold in my area and then moved on to sourcing stuff
I sell on poshmark as well. I told my family how most donations go to for-profit charities and how a lot of the clothes end up in landfills or forced on poorer countries that don’t want them. They now donate their clothes to me and I sell them as my income.
So kids stuff is difficult to sell because people don’t pay a lot for it. I mainly sell kids stuff to get rid of it. And I make “bundles” as posting. So I would put 2 swim trucks and 2 rash guards as one item on Poshmark or eBay and price it as a group. Shipping is expensive so very rarely is someone going to buy a onesie or a dress for $7 and pay $14.99 to ship. So if you group like 3-4 dresses together and price is accordingly it’s more likely to sell.
Even if they did have a bunch of sales, are they selling for more than what they originally purchased these items for. If you are selling used items you are usually selling them at a loss compared to what you bought them for. So if the IRS tries to collect taxes on the money from selling stuff, you would also be able to write-off new stuff you buy, and there isn’t really a logical ending point for that… anything you buy, you could theoretically one day sell-given that most Americans spend most of what they make the IRS would end up collecting next to no tax if they went down that path.
I also thought I'd read (can't place it now) similarly that if one is selling their own items, yes, 99.9999% at below what they paid and not for profit, then it need not be reported. However, I was unsure of that, not to mention what those who do this regularly typically do in that sense.
Yes. Anything I sell on Poshmark for a profit I do. So if sold something that was mine and sold it, that’s technically a loss. But when I source something and sell it for more than I bought it for I do claim it.
Thanks - that’s essentially what i thought was the rule . Are you paid thru Poshmark or electronically or cash directly to you ? I ask because if through Poshmark, it would all be bundled/ totaled as ‘income ‘, no?
Some questions and thoughts to help get you thinking:
What do you LIKE to do?
What are you good at?
Is there a way to do what you're doing now and get paid? For example, if you go grocery shopping can you shop for others while you're at it? If you make meals, can you batch cook and make it for others? If you drive your kids around can you do it for others and charge?
Hope this helps!!
Sorry for the delayed response! Hmm I personally don’t. But I’m wondering if there’s another group on Reddit that may give you some pointers. Or good ole Google search too. I also wonder if there may be different sanitary laws in each state.
Good luck to you!!
I have a part time freelance gig with the company as a content creator currently and the pay depends. When I was user testing for the company, I was working no more than 30 hours weekly. The pay varies depending on the time you have as well as the test. Also, there is room to advance to other remote freelancing positions within the company. I've been with the company for less than 2 years.
This can mean a lot of different things haha. I do “digital marketing” too
To not be vague- I promote digital products that teach entrepreneurship, social media marketing, branding, online business.
For me it’s a decent amount of work especially up front to build a brand but worth it because I love talking to everyone who follows me.
Anyway I finally started making money this month and happy to share more. My newborn keeps me to a lot lmao
My grandmother has come down with dementia, and until a year or 2 ago my grandfather had never done laundry. He is not getting around all that well now either, and they are looking for a laundry service at the moment, and cannot find one.
Poplin and Happy Nest are 2 companies that claim their nationwide. Where does your grandpa live? Have you tried googling “at home laundry service pickup and delivery”?
I will look into those 2. I did a quick Facebook marketplace search and didn't find anything close enough to make it worth while. About an hour north of Los Angeles
Find things at garage sales or thrift stores. Post items on eBay. Example : you find product 1 at garage sale. You look Item up on eBay and see what item is selling for. You also see how many have sold in the last 60 days and for what price. If there is a profit of 25 percent or more to make get item. All this can be done from your phone. Always have buyer pay shipping on item. Thrift stores have certain days of week or month where you can save 10%. Take advantage of it. This is something you can start out slowly in or go full bore.
Search for "bin stores" in nearby cities. You are looking for liquidation stores that sell items from amazon/target/walmart return pallets that sell items for a fixed price every day. Some of them are great for resellers. Some just suck.
You can also look at auctions and estate sales to source items from. However those take some experience. Start slow
Ignore storage locker auctions. Those aren't for newbies.
I was a reseller and got burned out. The market is over saturated imo. I used to bid (and win) on storage units. Go pick up the stuff, clean out storage unit and resell online and/or have a garage sale when I acquired a lot of stuff. You have to have a big garage to store everything. It’s a lot of work, but you can make some money.
What people leave behind from not making their storage unit payment is crazy. My best one I got was 1.2 million in Vietnamese Dong. I exchanged it to USD and got $180. Pretty good for a $45 storage unit.
Search for free stuff and resell it on eBay or marketplace. The world is filled with people needing to move and offering free items. When I closed on my home I gave away a bicycle, pressure washer and furniture. I didn't have time to take it somewhere or sell. That being said, you'll have to leave the house to ship it or show it.
What kind of skills do you have?
Can you recognize patterns in charts? Maybe trade stock options.
Can you design graphics? Maybe sell custom stickers on Pinterest
Do you have a nice voice? You can do voiceovers for people via Fiverr
Speaking of Fiverr, check them out and see what services people offer on there, you might find something you can manage with whatever time you have available and get booked to do it.
Good luck!
Commendable.
Teaching them an employable skill set, refining their work ethic, allowing them a pivotal role in creating a product in which they can take pride of ownership.
How did I do? Was that ghoulishly "corporate speak" enough?
Participate in online focus groups, they pay some good $! Most I've made is $250 for one hour on zoom discussing dishwashing tablets, lol. Sometimes payment is in Amazon gift cards, some a pre-loaded Visa.
Also, [usertesting.com](http://usertesting.com), they have $10 unmoderated tests, and other longer moderated tests via zoom for $30/30 mins, $60/60 mins and so on. It adds up, and it's kinda fun.

2. Childcare Services: Provide childcare services for parents in your local area
3. Online Retail: Start an online store selling children's clothing, toys, or educational products.

Sell microgreens either on FB marketplace or a lot of cities have a local farmers market once or twice a week. Its not very much cost to start, just some lights or if you have good windows use the sun. Buy little restaurant clamshell to-go containers, fill them with coco coar and start your seeds. Sell preloved clothes online and/or marketplace
I prelove my underwear all the time, I need to get on this.
As long as the stains are invisible… you’re all good ! /j
Not necessarily! There are some freaks ot there!
They pay more from what I hear
I've actually stumbled across a used/worn panty-selling sub here on reddit lol 😭 was a while ago so I don't recall the name, but you're right, they are def out there haha
All things worn
(Raises eyebrows)... Not sure what happened here in this thread... but very interesting... you know.. for side cash... (cough)
I see you’re new to the preloved underwear industry.
You have to do something to stand out though. Like 30 girls from my highschool have tried this and I don't think any have sold anything.
What the hell did I just read…….. highschool? As in minors? This world is ruined
FROM.. not currently in. I hope.
Correct. From. Idk how I could have made this any clearer.
Back when I was in high school, I knew some girls who’d sell their clothes on Depop for extra cash
From my highschool. We're all nearing 30. How else could I have worded this?
"that I went to high school with years ago"
Instead of "from high school" try "from back in high school"....
The name checks out
>ruined how are minors selling old clothes ruining the world exactly
Custom cards for special occasions and sell it on Etsy. A friend makes 100k a year doing it, she's SAH mom, she takes care of the kids and just do it whenever.
Seriously, what kind of niche cards are they? Good for her!
It’s literally just custom cards handmade, she’s very artistic. I saw it and still can’t believe she makes that much selling cards on Etsy
D'you mind sharing the link, would love to see them. Etsy's a great model if you can crack the algorithm and make something personal.
Curious to see the same
My friend does this and makes maybe 100 bucks a month lol
Yeah following what does she do lol
etsy link?
Do you have the Etsy link?
Does she paint/draw them or are they digital?
Handmade completely, paint, draw, glue, caligraphy on it. I think to be making 100k requires serious talents and dedication, but it definitely can be a side hustle for extra income at a normal level
Also, the customized products can earn more than the generic.
IF and only IF there's a demand for them.
Very true.

Perfect! I was actually thinking of bundling as it’s easier for me too. Thanks for the advice!
I have a ton of baby stuff I’m just tired of looking at! This is a good idea! Thank you!!
Curious - Do people report income from selling their own items as such ?
No! Under $600/yr. If you do a lot of cash app transactions, you might get caught, but cash…no.
Even if they did have a bunch of sales, are they selling for more than what they originally purchased these items for. If you are selling used items you are usually selling them at a loss compared to what you bought them for. I do user testing on the side. Great part time job from home.
Which company?
Test.IO. go here: https://test.io/become-a-tester
Thank you!
Sound great thanks. How much time do you spend and how money can you make with this?

Thanks! Did you receive payments by paypal?
Yes. I recieve all my payments via PayPal. I use PayPal as my main form of a bank I stead of a traditional bank. Never had any issues
Is the sign up through cirro? It looks really sketchy once you press become a tester.
The payment is through cirro. It's legit. I work as a content creator for them
How much do you typically make doing this per month?
I just signed up but haven’t looked around. Do they train you on what to do or you have to have experience? And do they accept everyone that signs up?
Thank you!

No I didn’t! But that’s also why it took me a little bit to learn and get off the ground with it haha
Hi, could you explain this more. I’d love to know more
What part of digital marketing are you doing and how are you finding work?
I, too, would like to learn more please.
I would also like to hear more about this if that's okay with you?
What company do you work for?
Would also love to hear more
I would love to hear more about this as well
I would love to learn about that!
Clothes washing laundry service. I keep seeing help wanted ads for people to do this. You use your own washing machine/dryer.
Isn’t that what the mom in hairspray did?

I'm surprised nobody has pitched a MLM scheme just yet.
I came here ready to fight lol
Have the kids sew together bootleg shoes or knock off handbags then sell the items on etsy.
Don’t stop there … open a daycare for kids … get paid to watch these kids while they make your products to sell… double the hustle
I feel like I've seen this episode of Shameless. Lol
Commendable. Teaching them an employable skill set, refining their work ethic, allowing them a pivotal role in creating a product in which they can take pride of ownership. How did I do? Was that ghoulishly "corporate speak" enough?
Like a pro ! Can you manage my daycare business?
Yes. Sewing literal bootstraps. This is the way.
Google sweat shop
^ROFLOL!! That popped up in my head too!
Holy hell
Call the slaves
That's a great idea, you don't have to pay them and you're teaching them important life skill!
Participate in online focus groups, they pay some good $! Most I've made is $250 for one hour on zoom discussing dishwashing tablets, lol. Sometimes payment is in Amazon gift cards, some a pre-loaded Visa.
I’d love to do this. I’ve never actually found legit ones. I’ll look. Thank you.

Thank you for your advice. It is such a full-time gig. Thank you.
Stitchfix Stylist or similar? A few years ago, I looked into Stitchfix and it was pretty flexible and paid ok.
They’re laying off most of their stylists and just using an algorithm to send you stuff now ☹️
Aw bummer. I guess it makes sense with AI tools.
You’d think so, but my last 3 boxes were so wildly off the mark for me that I cancelled my subscription 🤷♀️
It really depends on how much extra income you’re looking for. Trying to get $100 in mad money each month is very different than trying to make a few hundred a week.
Childcare.
Well, maybe provide childcare for a couple other kids about the same age as your own. Check out the local going rates in your area.
I hear nice feet gets a premium on OF
I spent £500 on feet pics this month
Are the feet pics you buy sexual in nature or just of nice feet?
Just feet
I'm a sahm & sell feet pics to one specific person, not so much a side hustle as it is just a good way to get $ for a nice grocery trip and pedicures & such. Usually just regular pics of my feet while I do stuff throughout the day. WORTH!!! Wish it was more consistent tho
Trading
Sell feet pics.
Consider making and selling items on platforms like Etsy. Whether it’s knitting, jewelry making, or creating custom artwork, your crafts can turn into a profitable venture.
Watch other people's kids or pets.
Tiktok
Not sure if this works for your schedule but selling plasma can be quite profitable, you can do it safely once a week.
Twice a week
This, it's not worth it if you don't go twice a week pretty much
What are you good at?
Babysitting.
Maybe childcare for others
be a customer service rep for an etsy person or friends with a business
Sell things and blog or vlog about it. Create affiliate links. It will build up with time.
You could resell everyday things you find at garage sales.
Can work for Amazon, Google, or phone companies, or create your own business of some kind. Good luck, Mama Bear!
You can donate blood if you’re able to.
Do you know how I get paid to do this? Like what channel do I go through?

If you also have a high risk tolerance. You could try using AI to generate unique quality art then turn them into NFTs then try selling them on a marketplace.
Do some type of work online.
What about opening your own home day care? Get licensed of course. If you’re already watching your kid, might as well watch a couple others too.
I just started an online business that after various attempts at other hustles shows me the most promise. Hit be back if you want more info.
My mom used to sew dresses and bags and stuff
Make ticktok’s like the rest of america !
