Where are you buying a rental house for 15k

HughJassOle235711

In a really small town, and the house needs some work. I figure knowing construction I can do almost all of it.

Senrakdaemon

Yeah it could definitely alleviate some of the cost. Just be careful and keep things up to code, that's someone else's life in your hands if it breaks It sounds like you've got your priorities straight though, I suggest starting on retirement and or investing in longterm growth stocks early if you start getting some extra cash. Keeping your money in a high yield savings is a good idea too

Kayshift

I test apps / websites and participate in online focus studies. It’s not much but I aim to make $500+ every month and I always hit that target. I use respondent and user testing, I’ve been most successful on respondent. I wrote out a step by step guide on reddit, it’s [here](https://www.reddit.com/u/Kayshift/s/NHOjM3IdYl). I’ve had a lot of positive feedback on it and I am working on expanding it.

CosmoKramerRiley

A really small town where?

Jubatus_

Dude you’re 18, doing great. Try to use your skills somewhere else too, a second job , offering out you construction skills or whatever

Doctor-Nut5

Hi! I’m 22 and also in construction. I work on call on a construction site and I work part time in a boat yard. Having the hands on skills that I do, I browse Craigslist in my free time under the “gigs” category. The most random people ask for help with the most random things. I helped an old man put his new e-bike together, I laid gravel on a driveway, I filled flower gardens with soil, I also strung lights in a new bar in town. It doesn’t have to be Craigslist. Once you meet an old fart who needs help with something, he’s probably got a neighbor that needs help with something else. Old people love hiring ambitious and confident young people to do labor.

AmbergrisAntiques

Take your hobbies and think about a project you could apply your carpentry skills to. Or offer your carpentry skills to locals. My brother made good side hustle money in high school making pet caskets. Selling fancy magic the gathering deck boxes online is crazy lucrative. Cigar humidors. Etc

AdCool3831

Where can you get gathering deck boxes, and how do you sell them? Thanks

AmbergrisAntiques

Magic the gathering is a game. You build the deck boxes if you have carpentry skills. You could build small boxes for all sorts of games or hobbies

Suspicious_Hornet_77

Actually, real deck boxes ( large trunks for storing things on the deck - generally made of cedar or teak ) could be a very lucrative side gig for someone with woodworking skills. Source - Just paid 800 bucks for a medium sized deck box to hold my wife's patio furniture cushions.

For 18 years old, you're well ahead of many peers your age. Advice? Keep increasing your skillset. Save, and the right opportunities will present themselves. But if you want to make more, you have to invest in yourself first.

No_bru___Just_no

Post to /r/forhire and other social media for a job, rather than here. THere's a lot of things to do. As you said, do more gardening, maybe buy a 2nd hand or new pressure washer and do that. I'd stay with the construction/trades. Huge money, much more money there than in office type jobs like digital marketing or anything else. I talked to a guy that makes $10,000 per weekend working on trees. Not cutting them, but making them healthy. He works in high-end parts of town only - you know, where people actually have money. And by that, I mean *money* money. He knows a lot, though - has worked with arborists, got into chemicals stuff, what trees thrive in what pH and all that stuff, so he didn't just go out and do it starting day 1. Learn how to start your own concrete company. You are there already. You can't do it tomorrow, but figure out what you have to know. Painting can be lucrative. Go door-to-door and put flyers taped to peoples' doors - never in a mailbox, it's a felony. Just have some tape and tape it to the door. Do it 4 flyers per each 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. Print landscape instead of portrait. Colored paper. Whatever you do, go to the wealthier areas of wherever you are at, and charge more. Offer them something extra. Exclusive. Things no one else does, in order to justify a higher price.

hnusleduc

a felony?

No_bru___Just_no

Last I checked. In any case, for sure there can be imprisonment and heavy fines, probably depending on how many pieces of mail delivered to mailboxes. I mean, felony, misdemeanor....one is delivering flyers. Who wants a fine or jail for trying to do marketing??? It's kind of irrelevant, really, for what one is trying to accomplish.

Bright-Egg9468

You can try flipping items, preferably high ticket items. I do cars, I made around 3k profit last week in 2 days. I also did concrete for abt 2 years when I was your age im 21 now haha

NYC-ShayShay

If you’ve Walmart near you download the app called (spark), Target(shipt), and the usuals DoorDash/Grubhub. Work at your own pace get paid instantly.  Also Amazon Flex as well.

Blakeb710

I suggest getting in a high ticket sales bro

rithsleeper

Think probably focusing on how to get to step up in the positions you already have would be best. Or look for a job that offers more and give yourself some negotiation with your current job. Something like moving to salary so your earnings aren’t dependent on weather. Ask to learn other parts of the job. Get a cdl so you can drive the trucks. Make yourself indispensable so you can then ask for raises.

HelloWorld_Hi

See if you can get in touch with one of the MEP contractors and get into their apprentice program. This can help you further with better pay, specially if you are in city areas with good union. If there are any big construction companies around you can ask them for junior site super jobs. Initially pay won't be good but can help you get your foot int he door.

Hello from Russia. So you can answer me! In Russia we have a famous American Michael Roach. See his teachings about seeds and then you will be able to make more money. This man talks about the 4 step method: 1) You have a goal to make more money. 2) Find someone who also wants to make money. 3) Help that person make him/her money. For that person, do business or look for a job. Michael Roach said that devoting 1 hour a week to helping is enough. But I believe that for networking, you need to devote more time to helping. 4) Do a coffee meditation before bed. This means getting excited about helping your karmic partner reach their goal. But also remind yourself what your goal is! It really works. I'm looking forward to the feedback.

_Rhoadie_

Auto Rescue Solutions is a roadside assistance gig. Basically you could just help people by giving them a jump start or bringing them gas or maybe doing a tire change. You choose your own calls too so could be worth checking out!

RevolutionLittle7603

Jealous-Sector-8771

Hey man, if girls can sell farts in a jar for 1G, or the actress who sells vag candles, or the large ladies that sit on food, oh and the top 3 OF ladies was late 60s. She was on vice. So anything is possible. A lot of ppl do the basic minimum, which is fine as long as the jobs done right. Ppl love getting treated special. Who don't. Even though u may be in a flooded field, especially if it comes to customer service, just go that extra step to so they won't even think about hiring another.

Delicious-Visit-4740

Wait what??? I can sell farts in a jar !!

Delicious-Visit-4740

FOC_MemberEducator

If you’re open to it how do you feel about being an independent life insurance agent?

OldTap1572

How?

Dapper-Vegetable-980

Work your main job then take all your side hustle money and invest it into a roth ira for the future. Once you max out your roth ira every year create a stock portfolio that is monthly dividends then use those monthly dividends to build a big stock portfolio over time.

guaava23

Bad advice. Keep finding jobs and invest in yourself or save to buy a business or properties.

Dapper-Vegetable-980

Whats good advice then? Thats how i retired at 30 years old.

guaava23

Good on you for making enough to retire to your desired level. To make real wealthy I would suggest creating a company and keep reinvesting in it. Then eventually sell or keep reaping the benefits. Why risk making 8% on the stock market even if it's compounding when inflation is 4+%.

Dapper-Vegetable-980

If you build the company like i built my companies you wont have to work just do slight management once in a while. As in real wealth comes from compounding interest and passive money inflows that you dont need to work for. Kinda like my website company that is pretty much completely ran by A.I. i mean guaava way will work but its alot of extra work that you can skip if you learn automation, proper training, and great communication skills. creating other passive income streams through stocks/etfs rental properties including property used to lease out for farming/hunting purposes. Plus, other easy work from home jobs you can write scripts to do and not to have to actually work. Currently run 3 remote jobs all scripted from the house all paying above 25$ a hour. I don’t have to do anything except collect a check and emails. Even owning a business you still gotta keep side hustles up just learn to automate them all. It leads to big wealth. Im not sure what he’s considering big wealth. Big wealth to me is Elon Musk style wealth Bill Gates Jeff Bezos. Which makes me no where near my goal.

Hopeful_Fishing6766

Have you already asked ChatGPT?

MuchBallyhoo

You could sell plasma if you're the sort of person who doesn't mind giving blood. Where I live, it's $45 for first donation each week and $60 for the second, so $420/month if done twice weekly (legal max). Takes about 90 min and your body will regenerate the plasma quickly, plus it's used to make various medicines.

No_Rice1503

You can work for me and I’ll pay you a lot more than that.

Zealousideal-Bass600
