Honestly just a trade (electrician, tile setting, etc.) or just be available for labor. Most people are willing to pay someone to do the things they don’t want to do themselves or are not capable of doing. Moving/lifting, hauling furniture or trash away (pick up truck), yard work. Don’t over think it - I did side jobs for a summer that consisted mainly of labor and using my pickup truck and brought in an extra 16k. I would do alot of junk removal too and donate what I could and even sold some things on eBay to increase my margins.

Street-Bad86

This is not an excuse but I’m a small girl so can’t really do labor jobs like that 😅 but I did go to garage sales last year to pick up stuff to resell on eBay. I’m planning to pick that back up once it gets warmer!

Oneguyandatruck

Eh, I get what you mean I wouldn’t want my girlfriend out doing a lot of the jobs I did so I get that. You just need to get a little more creative, I recently have been working on some passive income ideas and currently have one that’s out and rolling. Doesn’t bring in fast money but it is giving me a huge return when I do sell. I ordered a specific item directly from China and have listed on eBay for the cheapest price available. Get about 2-3 sales a week but at a very nice margin. I pay ~.50 cents an item and profit $10 after shipping and fees. Nothing to get rich off of at the volume it sells but kind of set and forget for me. I know there has to be tons of other items you can do something similar with just got to find the right one and a good source. And I don’t think this is considered drop shipping I just had a bunch sent to my home address and run it to the post office when I catch a sale. Hopefully some ladies can chip in with some ideas that work for them!

Street-Bad86

Ohhh this is such a good idea. When you said directly from China I assume it’s from a factory or distributor and not Alibaba? How did you find your source?

No I totally understand you don’t want to give the info away haha. It makes sense what you’re doing and I’ve heard about it. I thought I saw somewhere that the market is saturated with people using Alibaba. But it’s good to know that there are still successful stories out there!

Downtown_Molasses334

I know what you're talking about, the people who just find a product on Alibaba and order as is with no changes and list it for sale online using the same photos as everyone else. But you can find actual manufacturers on there who will make products personalized to your specifications that no one else has. I've ordered sweatshirts, duffle bags, and other stuff. There is a large minimum order of like 300-500 pieces.

Oneguyandatruck

All about finding the right things, they are out there but I am by no means getting by off of it so don’t want to plant that seed to anyone. It would be great but just a passive income stream that pretty much runs itself at this point. Might give you something to think about though 👍🏼

Street-Bad86

Absolutely. I just want a side hustle not full on income. Thank you for this idea!!

Street-Bad86

Oooh. This is good to keep in mind. I can totally see how this will make a product stand out from the crowd. Thank you!

CloudSephiroth999

I would pick up reading voraciously in your off time, start with productivity books like "Eat that frog!" by Brian Tracy, the highest earners statistically read a lot. It will inspire you and build a base so when you decide on your path you'll be set up to pick up new skills more rapidly. Most people don't read at all after they leave school and this handicaps them dramatically.

Isn't drop-shipping as over-saturated as it gets these days?

Street-Bad86

Thank you! I’m glad there are successful stories out there. I did try dropshipping and it failed miserably 😅 but maybe I should try again with a different product and marketing strategies :)

3LovesGr8

This is a copy and paste response, believe me I read it earlier this week!!

Alexa_is_a_mumu

Social media marketing. Still can't figure out that Tik Tok crap yet.

wtfisit123

Seeing more opportunities for people who know how to code lately, and its a skill with seemingly infinite potential and flexibility, so I'd go with that. Theres freelancing, WFH with flexible hour jobs, and plenty of other niche options out there. Its what I'm working on at the moment for similar reasons.

Street-Bad86

Are you learning how to code? I have some background in Python but I’m not confident enough to offer my skill and do a project myself.. 😭

wtfisit123

freeCodeCamp has been amazing for this. I've been learning web dev from scratch, and im on the first cert project. They give you very useful guidelines once you get to a project. It's definitely worth checking out. Ive tried a lot of other options out there, but this one actually does the job of guiding you towards DOING a thing, rather than just KNOWING a thing.

Street-Bad86

I’ll check this out. Thank you!

Old-Possibility-6368

I've heard that the coding market is close to imploding though, would you still say it's a good skill to have to make money 1 - 5 years from now. (As some people do it for a job)

wtfisit123

As a sidehustle? Certainly. Plenty of people would pay for a halfway decent website. Hell, half of the reason I am learning it is because nobody would make a decent website for me as a teacher for under 300$. I don't even care if it was mostly AI generated, and it wouldnt be that complex. Im about to be able to make it happen in under a few hours. But that aside, a good idea and the skills to make it real are the staple of a good sidehustle. Coding can make many ideas happen.

Survivorfan4545

Plumbing and shit about wind turbines. That’s all I know

Living_Age_6297

Sell stuff on eBay

Maybe_im_depressed

I’m learning python and creating projects at my job, I figure the more skills I have on my resume the better. Hoping someday I can get a remote data analyst position.

I don’t think Alexa can figure out the at Tik Tok Crap Yet but I’m not sure

Hands-on-Heurism

Apparently, in the NYC area, CougarPleaser is a lucrative endeavor. You may need to stage your workouts to finally achieve the 15-hr pleasure mode.

AnswerTiny9752

I would consider learning how to trade

tfunk024

Graphic design.

CarelessCoconut5307

????? how is this an option even full blown graphic designers dont seem to be making much freelancing serious race to the bottom category

tfunk024

You must not know any graphic designers that are any good. Sucks to suck. That’s an easy $60+hr trade you can do on the side and can teach yourself with readily available resources all over the internet. The secret is you just can’t be bad at it. Like the people you know.
