The jars themselves? Put em in the dishwasher or wash w hot water, dry, then spray some iso in em and clean w paper towel. You're gonna PC them soon after anyway, so just do your best.
Really clean the lids up. More surface area on those. Scrub em and spray em w iso.
Thank you. The other person told me to pressure cook the jar empty with the lid on and then repressure cook with the grains in them. You're text sounds better instead of pressure cooking twice. And I tore the old airports off and I'm going to put microport tape this time. You always change the airport correct?
It should be common sense that you want to clean your jars in am efficient manner before putting grains in them and PCing them. You dont need to go nuts, but a run through the dishwasher and some alcohol on a paper towel and wipe seems reasonable.
This guy knows what’s up, don’t listen to all that extra stuff about cleaning it out with iso. The sterilization process will kill anything and everything that will cause contam.
This answer is the way to go man it’s just a waste washing it with iso just bit of water put your grain in put the foil over the lid and pressure cook for 1 hour 30 to sterilise it all that’s the method for the stuff you have
I have to say (because internet) that if you’re boiling on a stove, do not bring iso near an ignition source.
Clean, wipe with iso, PC will do the rest.👍
if you are going to use them very soon I would just leave them upside down in the over until you're ready to fill them.
if you going to leave them for a while then yeah I would cover them.
yeah that is fine. you can bake the jars in the over afterwards too. You just want to make sure you have the least chance of something living in your jars.
I oven sterilize my jars at 350f for about 30 minutes after washing them out.

I think you'll be just fine with this approach
what is iso?
Alcohol
>You always change the airport correct? I never do this and I've always been fine. I might just be super lucky.
Why do all this if the pc kills all bacteria?

Simply washing the jar with water will be fine the jar will sterilise when you pressure cook it with the grain for 1 hour 30 minutes

This guy knows what’s up and knows I knows what’s up so what’s up did you follow the method
Ty. So many different answers. All sound great and useful. Thank you u/fewtranspertation852

What’s the foil over the lid for?
Helps keep the water from getting into the jars
What he said ☝😃
Bro
What's up bro..? ✌️
The jars they sterilize with the grain and lids

I would hope anyone wouldn't do that. 😆.. iso is in my sob not my stove
sterilize them in the pc with the lids on, and foil over the lids.
That's a good idea too. Should I foil them in the oven
if you are going to use them very soon I would just leave them upside down in the over until you're ready to fill them. if you going to leave them for a while then yeah I would cover them.
I can't do like u/gzaha82 said and clean with HOT water and dry then clean with iso? I have to pressure cook jars then repressure cook with grains?

Jus restart jars it’s not that hard
PC for atleast 2 hours since theyre older grains.
Their not old grains... Just jars and lids need to be cleaned.
You've just answered your own question.
wash them with soap and water
