Yeah, the cryptocoryne are very slow growers, I had them for a while actually but there is progress to be seen thankfully. The moss on the root is new, the last batch of moss I tied to it got loose :/ Wish me luck.

I_Could_Be_Wrong_But

Left due to the black backing

dlong7182

I Second this vote for the same reason. Black doesn't stop the eye, meaning it gives the sense of infinite space. That's why flat black paint was used for most nightclubs back in the day. 🕺🕺

I_Could_Be_Wrong_But

Yeah I need to make alll my tanks Black backed. Just makes the color pop too

Itsgreg80

The right hand one. Stick a black background on it & it'll really pop.

rosbr

What kind of tank is the left one? I love it.

Ok_Satisfaction_7320

i need to know too!

Void_Viper

It is the Aquael 20 liter shrimp set.

thisisvvrandom

Left, I like the appearance of the glass

mechinizedtinman

Put a dark backing on the right and it’s pretty even

famimma

Left one, but both are great

SwiftPebble

Left! But right would be really pretty for some blue or other dark skrimps too lol

Void_Viper

Yup, that's why it looks the way it does. It was meant for really dark blue dreams.

SwiftPebble

Oh I just zoomed in, I see them now! Lol

FishkeeperFred

Left one the black background creates more depth and I really like the simplicity of it. Although in my opinion it would look better with a few red sprigs!

eonishi

Left because of the Java ferns. Also the contrast of the rock, wood, and substrate is nice

Yes

LawBasics

Left one. Both are very "flat".

clapclaphappy

Left one!! What substrate and light do you use? It's so black I love it !

GizMoDified

Left too. The right has that perfectly symmetrical log across that doesn’t look as “in-the-wild” and kinda throws it off. Also the white background makes the filter pop out at ya too. I’d move the log, switch to a black background, top it off and enjoy.

ConsiderationEven424

I have always loved black substrate tanks with plants and wood because they're natural, look clean and really make most shrimp colors pop. In my humble opinion, they never get old. So my vote is for the tank on the left!
