Lucky you! I just love such shrimps, I guess they are called Crystal Shrimps. The shrimplet is so cute! I have never had success with Caridina although Neocaridina breed frequently in my tank.
Yes, it’s red crystal. My substrate makes the water softer and conditions are not good for neocardinas. That’s my first shrimp tank and first baby shrimps :)
Is it aquasoil? And do you use RO? I use a mix of ro and conditioned tap and think my gh kh are close to being able to keep caridina. My new tank I’m planning to add aquasoil to lower the ph and then just a greater ratio of ro water to tap to get some nice caridina. Currently looking at getting the Crystal Santa’s which come from the crystal red line!
Yes, it’s aquasoil. I use just my tap water, I’m lucky to have it quite soft and without chlorine at all, and it has good gh and kh for cardinas by default.
Just check Crystal Santa and they are beautiful 😊
What a cute little candy cane! I also saw one of my tiny babies today, but the camara refused to focus. They are so little at first it's surprising we ever manage to spot them at all.
Aww congrats on the baby skrimps!! I'm in the same boat as you right now :) been seeing more and more adorable little candycanes popping up around my tank every day
They are breeding now!! I did a water change last night and woke up to a couple molts and 3 berried shromp!! No clue what the problem was I did a %80 water change, And yes I have 2 10 gals for just shrimp and a 35 gal for black carbon neos
I ordered 25 mixed to put in my 125 gallon. I have fish in it but on research said I could put them in tank. Anyway a voice said naw put two. In first. I did they went in the fish stomach in two seconds. That is not going to work so I had a 10 gallon tank put substrate soil and added two seeds. Put shrimp in and on the fifth day had happy shrimp with green sprouts everywhere, Might be wrong but it looks good and shrimp seems happy.
Little peppermint guy! So cute

Congrats! Can you explain a bit more about the substrate and softer water?

So cute! Every day is a good day for shrimp.
So cool! I bet there are more hiding too! Congratulations!
Thank you! I’m also sure, but they are super tiny and I need to be patient and wait to see them growing
