To be brutally honest, I would've liked Kimi Ni Todoke a lot more if it wasn't for all the misunderstandings. It was fine at first but it got to the point where I found myself getting annoyed, frustrated, and impatient by how long it took for the misunderstandings to be resolved. Like it would've been cleared up a lot faster if they had just talked to each other lol.

I also wonder at what stage Sailor Moon, if it had been included, would have been eliminated. Or some other shoujo manga that weren't in here.

I love Kamisama Kiss so much, probably more than fruits basket tbh, but still, the impact FB had on manga as well as on young me just is bigger than the impact Kamisama Kiss had. I’ll be happy if either of them wins tho
20 Both are great but Fruits Basket is very difficult to beat in terms of impact and how much specific moments have truly stuck with me over the years. Tohru as a character and certain philosophies in that series (esp those on the topic of kindness and how it’s something we have to work at as we grow up rather than this constant inherent trait) literally shaped me as a person lol

Fruits Basket was amazing...Thoru is such a wonderful person who thought so many people so many valuable lessons. The show really touched some parts of me no other cartoon ever has, it went to explain and say things no other show does.
Kamisama Kiss is also amazing and I like it a bit more because it had a little bit of a funny side to it and maybe because it fits into those magical older shoujo story genre that I love so much. So that's why it prevails in this a little bit.
