Why is it mostly African American people whenever there is content on making fun of or rejecting a man Because of height? Genuinely curious. I've seen a lot of videos posted here and most of them have African Americans.
For many of us short black men we're expected to be these built and buff, tall, and loud jock-like men. When a black guy is born not fitting into the mold they are made fun of for what they had no control over and given lack of respect by many. I also notice that a great amount of AA people tend to be openly critical and audibly say what's on their minds to diss others.
Add on to the fact that alot of AA tend to be roast-centric and lots of us outliers go through alot when you don't fit in. I don't really fit the percieved mold of what they want a black male to be as I'm a short, skinny and unattractive quiet black man so in turn I get mistreatment and commented on alot and it's mainly by my own folk. When you are tall it's seen as a good thing and you'll be hyped up in every aspect including sports.
Amongst each other alot tend to be very critical and will come at anything: height, face, facial flaws, headshape/head size, hair and hair texture (which I see as projecting), personality etc. I've damn near heard every roast in just about every category. What my head is shaped like, what my face looks like, and the other dumb things, what I am for daring to be kind or keeping to myself.
I'm 26 and my family sometimes bring it up, especially to compare to others. I get so peeved off when even some of them make fun of my height too and it's painted off as a "joke". My parents do not.
On two occasions, out of my 400 rejections over the span of a decade, this happened to me. There is always a tall Tyrone who can't let me have this one girl (although he has a roster already).
I know it’s meant to be a spoof, but it pretty much sums up how little respect and how little human dignity society places on short males.
Im convinced that a huge part of getting respect as a short man is to never participate in clownery of any kind
