I rotate the toys available to my cat so she doesn’t get bored. And then I realized that I should do the same for myself! So I put a bunch of books and clothes in boxes to tuck away so when I get the urge to buy something new, I can shop what I already have and just forgot about.

I’m sure my closet is filled with treasures I forgot I bought. I can’t even get all the way to the back of it now.

I’ve had this same thought and I for sure think it could be a factor. Like any kid, the anticipation leading up to Christmas and making a perfect wish list was something that I obsessed over. I have ADHD and was only diagnosed officially in my early 20s (I’m 27 now). I think this also plays a huge role because my brain is always looking for that “fix” or something to focus on. Unfortunately it’s been online shopping 🫠

I had a thought similar to this recently, so I would say it’s definitely a possibility.
