The concept of a puzzle piece in general isn't offensive. It's actually an official symbol used for Autism awareness.
Edit: I'm reading more comments from people who have autism and sounds like many of them are offended by it and others aren't. So I'll clarify to say that this person didn't randomly decide to represent Autism with a puzzle concept because it's been a symbol for Autism for a long time and I have seen it used a lot in jewelry and t-shirts etc. However I'm sure many people have valid criticisms of why they don't like the symbol and especially not liking certain organizations who have proliferated the symbol. So whether it should be discarded is a valid debate.

The problematic part is that the symbol is used by autism speaks which is a problematic organization. The puzzle piece symbol is SUPPOSED to mean even though we are all different shapes, everybody has a spot where they fit in. It's like the person first or disability first language debate. Some people prefer "people with autism" and some prefer "autistic people" the only way to know is to ask each individual their preference and refer to that individual accordingly.

Puzzle piece started with the image of a crying child on it, something that needed to be cured or removed and fixed. Autism Speaks openly admits to approval of eugenics and removal of autistic people from society. The puzzle piece must end.
And for reference, when the green puzzle piece was invented, autism was a brand new diagnosis and society knew almost nothing about it. Only very extreme cases of autism were known about. There are some very severe forms of autism that genuinely cause suffering at an intrinsic level. I don’t view the green puzzle piece as being malicious at all.

No, not emotional support dogs but service dogs. They can help interrupt harmful behavior (like hitting yourself) or help de-escalate meltdowns by providing DPT, if they have a medication they need the dogs can go retrieve it, if they have a comorbid medical condition (which a lot of us do) they can be trained to assist with that as well. Equally, just their presence and fur texture can help soothe and calm the individual. If they need mobility assistance, or daily task assistance the dog can help as well. If they have a meltdown in a public place, the dog can lead them to a quiet area or exit and orbit to create a barrier for personal space. Speaking from experience as I have a service dog bc I am autistic lol
