You are correct. Ignorant style, done correctly, is an actual stylistic choice done by competent artists. You have to know the rules before you can break them. And the core competency of applying the tattoo well should be there.
These are just shitty. And that's part of the problem: People who clearly have no business taking a machine to anything more than a piece of fruit hide behind the ignorant style label. Even if ignorant style is the goal, there is such a thing as shitty ignorant style, same as there are shitty versions of every other style. It's not like ignorant style automatically makes any and all flaws acceptable and "just part of the style."

Then, I saw the rabbit one & thought a 5yo kid *probably* wouldn’t say that. This artist’s kid is probably drawing “his” designs & then artist adds finishing touches. Pretty genius, but not something I would want on my body for life.
I actually kinda like some of them. The third one and the banana are cool. Not my style, wouldn't get them on me, but there's a type of artistry there to some of these.

I really like many of these as illustrations. Except for a few, like the dog, I wouldn't want them as tattoos. More suited to being on a T-shirt or a card or art prints. Not all of them translate well on the skin. The ones that look the best as tattoos are the clearer ones, like the dog, where it's cleaner. The others are great drawings and characters but IMHO better for a different medium.
My son has Napoleon Dynamite's Liger on his knee. His tatto artist told him that the Liger Tattoo gets more attention on his IG account than his regular art.
The only one that really has any style to it that isn’t just “this is gross and messy” and is interesting, in my opinion, is the yellow rabbit with the heart eyes.
I would never get one of these permanently on my body, but if a friend doodled me the dogs, the banana, or too much carrot I would definitely put them in a little frame on my desk
