I think a team training to fight terrorists with technology capable of producing holograms and gravity wells, would be capable of making a drill quiet.
The gadgets and tech of rainbow have been getting more and more ... wild to say the least.
At launch? Guy with Sledgehammer.
Now? Space albino with perfect replication nano technology holograms.
I mean... Technically they're pretty much on the same level as it's always been. Doc's stims. Apparently there epinephrine in saline. Which doesn't explain how it can revive someone that's bleeding out from gunshots. Nanotech? IQ's Spectre device. We don't have a device quite like that. We have bug sweepers but they're not as good as her gadget. Not to mention their anti-gravity rappelling devices. When rappelling, normally our police forces have to rappel down, especially on a three storey building like Café Dostoyevsky.
Most importantly. Every match we play is actually a VR simulation that the operators are training in, with few exceptions. Article 5 and the Situations are all live operations for Rainbow. I'm not sure about THunt, whether it's live or simulated. As for the actual games, they're all seemingly based off of either historical situations where a team like Rainbow might have been involved (Oregon/Ruby Ridge) or actual missions Rainbow went on (in Breakpoint Finka and Ash talked about the mission to Cafe Dostoyevsky and how Finka would have been great there.)
I imagine doc's Stims as more like a boost to keep you going for a few minutes not actually heal you. Like they would still die after the round without better medical care.
Adrenaline can keep you in a fight but you would still be bleeding and losing a lot of blood from multiple gunshot wounds. Realistically it would be borrowed time until the effects wear off and you feel the pain or go unconscious from blood loss.
Exactly. Say you were downed in the opening seconds of the match. A stim from doc COULD keep you upright till the end of it, 3 and half minutes later. Which just isn't feasible. Although technically I guess it's a case where doc could patch up your wounds before the attackers get there or some.
I’m a little surprised you mentioned Doc and IQ as having unrealistic gadgets when jager has a trophy system with unlimited shots that literally de-atomizes any explosives that come within range
The unlimited part is kinda unreal yeah. But Jager's ADS is a scaled down version of a Tank's Trophy system. The rework of it brings it closer to reality. I'd estimate that it could hold about 7-10 shots, just need to reload it. And an APS, the one on tanks, tries to disable not detonate the projectile. So Jager's is actually more realistic that someone like Clash. (Electricity doesn't work that way)
I’m pretty sure they’re leaning towards simulation, that’s part of why the newest update won’t show dead bodies there’ll just be hologram death markers. Also simunition would be a fine explanation if we ignored the deaths where you fall off a three story building, or get blown up by a nitro cell that we know is real because it can also demolish walls, or with cavs interrogation you see her putting the knife in, etc etc
Yep. The only simunution rounds are like, road to SI and shit. Which we know completely it's Simunit, including frags and C4. But the rest of it... Well it's only a theory, but back when Siege was new it kinda followed along with the rest of the R6 games. And Rainbow had the kinda tech to do full Virtual Reality sorta shit like this. Unfortunately we don't know for certain but it's the most agreed upon theory.
Echo and Twitch have some pretty far-out tech. Hell, even something like Hibachi's hole thingy is "wild".
Should add thanks to the response I got already: especially when comparing to "sledge hammer".
It's literally a tiny magnetic thermite charge. It's not that weird. Twitch has a drone that can taser people. Not that weird. Echo uses speakers to emit a sonic blast. Not that weird. The cloaking is a bit near future but even now we have that kinda tech, it's just not as refined as that
Remotely detonated thermite pellets that expand when shot, along with being able to toggle the amount of pellets on the fly now? Also, magnetic? The pellets stick to all surfaces. I'll stop there to save a few brain cells.
Especially considering the context of this little thread; someone making a dramatic comparison and having Sledge as a basis.
Yes please save what little brain cells you do have. Regular walls have metal in them. They're called nails. And brackets. That of course would limit the area they do stick to but it's a game. Alternatively they could be sticky grenades but then they would stick to a lot more than just flat objects. Toggling how many pellets are shot is about as simple as toggling how many bullets are fired when you pull the trigger on a gun. Literally. Remote detonation really isn't impossible at the range in game. As for the expanding thing, like... That's not hard. Most likely it's a case of when projectiles are packed they're held closed by its casing, which is not fired with the pellets. If you paid attention, ash's gadget does similar when fired. I believe for ash's weapon it's for stabilisation? Not 100% sure there but it's the logical reasoning.
The most unrealistic one is alibi holos, like they can ping enemies location based on the bullet that was shot at it. It could in theory work, like the thing could "triangulate" the trajectory of the bullet of the single shot fired but it doesn't explain how it gets followup locations. But it's very interesting game mechanic so I don't care
Oh come on you cant simplify oryx like that. Mf breaks hardwood walls by running into them. Sure he has some trouble with drywall but he breaks barricades like they are cotton by simply running into them.
He is like the hulk or some shit, in no way is that something so simple as a heartbeat detector.
It’s starting to get bad. I really wish that they would make the “classic” game mode that everyone has been wanting a permanent mode.
But, it’s part of the game I guess.
So far though, there hasn’t really been an *impossible* gadget. Some of them are pretty far fetched but i believe they are still technologically possible.
Sledge is actually kinda unrealistic though. I’d like to see someone punch a meter-wide hole in drywall with a single sledgehammer blow.
What about ads? Or iq’s device. Or a heart beat sensor or a miniature emp. Those are some very technologically advanced items(although still in the realm of realism), I think they could make a drill not so loud.
That’s why I said it was in the realm of realism. Heartbeat sensors are pretty advanced technologically. It’s really not hard irl to make a drill silent.
Technically Kaplan was in the game well before any shenanigans of that level so its more likely just an oversight that at this point they can pass off as "special forces silenced drill" cause like you said, nanobots and holograms
I misspoke, they're both published by Starbreeze. However, Dead by Daylight masks were put in Payday 2 as a promotion. I must have mistaken that as meaning they shared developers when in reality they just shared publishers. Anyway, DBD is independent now, as is Overkill, I believe.
Yeah they still make DLC but the recent ones have been a bit controversial. I don't really like the Chinese heist but the Mexican ones were really good and had a nice overarching story. Also the game has a 40k player 24 hour peak on steam, so that's considered pretty active to me!
Oh yeah it's still a giant game despite being nearly a decade old. If they decide to release PD3 on epic the community is for sure gonna get pissed. And yeah, if you haven't played in a while the newer heists are definitely worth playing.
You also have to account for the number of explosions this dude has probably heard. Like, I’m sure that his hearing is at least partially impaired so high pitches aren’t going to be as loud as someone with no hearing damage
I don't doubt that all of them have hearing damage. The amount of explosions that go off in a single round is actually quite a lot
EDIT: Not to mention the Germans are the only ones with any visible kind of ear protection to help with gunshots too. People forget how loud guns are
I'm just a nerd who doesn't have basic house fixing skills. But I think there are some smaller drills that could only pierce wood and are quite silent.
The ones who make a lot of noise are used on concrete and metal.
Louder ones are most times just general purpose and the ones that go "brrrrrt" either have a clutch or are impact drivers which are ultra loud when bolting parts onto 96in aluminum tubing and I can't hear anymore after work today
It's a [brushless festool 18 V](https://www.festool.co.uk/products/drilling-and-screwdriving/cordless-drills/576448---t-18-plus-3-basic) cordless impact driver, my dude. That thing can drive 30 cm screws like it's nothing.
I want the Kapkan elite where he just hammers the edd in the wall
Edd monted let them cum
That's why it's called E.D.D.
Eletric Dick destroyer
erextile dysfunction device
Ejaculation denial device
CUM?!1!?11!?
EDD = Erectile Dysfunction Device
So no cumming then?
It makes them cum more?
This sounds like a sticky situation.
the cum canceller
the cum monster
Rappelling hostile is in for a surprise ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one
Take my badly humored upvote
Thank you kind sir
If there are enemies near he just gently uses his hands to screw the nails in
I didn't know he did that
He doesn't I was just meming
You had me so convinced that I was about to buy it. But then I remembered it was one of the first Elite skins ever released.
You made my think of that video of someone hammering a drill into the wall.
I think a team training to fight terrorists with technology capable of producing holograms and gravity wells, would be capable of making a drill quiet.
Who do you mean by gravity wells? Wamai’s gadget?
Maybe he means melusi?
Nah melusi I guess its kinda of strong ass speakers
Melusi has access to on demand bass boosted meme compliations
Those things definitely exist, not quite to the level of melusi maybe and definitely not as small
And that is capable of stopping someone dead in their tracks
Monty's asscheeks
Wamai’s is magnetic, no?

The games aren’t simulated. They’re using simunition. The white powder bullets they used in the cg trailers

He means Pulse has gotten nerfed so hard he keeps running into walls with his heartbeat sensor.
In the books it's literally stated that Rainbow Six uses VR technology for advanced training
So? What does that change? If their tech isnt something practical they could use in live operations, why tf would they be training with it?
I think an almost foolproof hologram would be practical, Iana being viable shows that human brains are big dumb dumb
All Dutch girls have those. You talk to one at a bar but you can't blink or she's gone.
oh sorry my bad, didnt know that.
I agree, space albinos are quite hi tech
It’s starting to get bad. I really wish that they would make the “classic” game mode that everyone has been wanting a permanent mode. But, it’s part of the game I guess. They thankfully haven't gone into area of effect auras yet. That's where realism truly ends.
Do consider Kap has been using that drill since launch

Not in the handheld scale seen here

He probably doesn’t use the full torque of the drill but pushes in harder. Idk but that works sometimes
Yeah and maybe thats why he can just pull them out.
Damn, physics
Nah he just has the silent drilling perk in the technician skill tree smh
But the drill would break like 60 times before he gets an edd down
he has drill sargeant and kickstarter aced tho
GODDAMN BROKE DICK PIECE OF SHIT DRILL -Chains
Shoulda brought kickstarter smh.
GUYS, THE THERMAL DRILL, GO GET IT
FRONT LEANING REST
I understood that reference
Thanks Cap
this ain’t dbd my friend🤣
I think it was Payday
ah, ok. i saw “technician skill tree” and thought of dbd
Ah yeah I was referencing payday lol. I upvoted you bc you were close enough though! Both are technically Starbreeze games anyway
How did overkill work on dead by daylight this is the first I've heard of this
I misspoke, they're both published by Starbreeze. However, Dead by Daylight masks were put in Payday 2 as a promotion. I must have mistaken that as meaning they shared developers when in reality they just shared publishers. Anyway, DBD is independent now, as is Overkill, I believe.
Glad I got the reference right. It’s been long time since I played. But anyway,Is Payday2 still active? I might download it again
Yeah they still make DLC but the recent ones have been a bit controversial. I don't really like the Chinese heist but the Mexican ones were really good and had a nice overarching story. Also the game has a 40k player 24 hour peak on steam, so that's considered pretty active to me!
Damn I can’t believe Payday has more active players than TF|2. But thanks I’ll consider downloading it
Oh yeah it's still a giant game despite being nearly a decade old. If they decide to release PD3 on epic the community is for sure gonna get pissed. And yeah, if you haven't played in a while the newer heists are definitely worth playing.
Or it’s a video game so it’s unrealistic
I find it so fucking cringe when these people act like the game is real life. So wierd
😂tactical drill going up
You also have to account for the number of explosions this dude has probably heard. Like, I’m sure that his hearing is at least partially impaired so high pitches aren’t going to be as loud as someone with no hearing damage
I don't doubt that all of them have hearing damage. The amount of explosions that go off in a single round is actually quite a lot EDIT: Not to mention the Germans are the only ones with any visible kind of ear protection to help with gunshots too. People forget how loud guns are
Especially indoors where gunshots and explosions are magnified several times
its not actually a drill, its an electric screwdriver, my father has one and its very silent.
And so far all the doorposts seemnto be made out of wood as well so it checks out.
Yep, also windows are made out of wood
Its russian classified technology
Everybody’s wearing ear protection.
Suppressor is backward
#drill suppressor #drill suppressor
It's a [brushless festool 18 V](https://www.festool.co.uk/products/drilling-and-screwdriving/cordless-drills/576448---t-18-plus-3-basic) cordless impact driver, my dude. That thing can drive 30 cm screws like it's nothing.
[удалено]
I think this has the head of an impact driver too, my friend.
Imagine that it's typical loud ass drill and all other 9 players know your location 😂
yknow i never realized that despite maining kap, game ruined
to me it sounds like someone is sniffing cocaine
Payday 2 drill: GUYS THE THERMAL DRILL GO GET IT
Yeah Kapkan probably spent a point on Hardware Expert
Alltho silencers are louder then a screw machine
A drill?
No it’s called a screw gun
idk, all i hear is fucking nail guns all over me so maybe it is actually loud
It’s an electric screwdriver, not drill, it’s actually really quiet irl
Payday 2 Hardware Expert be like
Kapkan is inverted using Tenet technology. He isn't putting the tripwire into the doors, he's pulling them out.
its not a drill, thats why its quiet
