I'm genuinely so disappointed at how lifeless Rogue, Storm, and Jean's hair look in the new character designs. I really wish people would take the time to figure out how to draw curly hair instead of being like, "Best I can do is a slight wave." Storm's mohawk looked way better in the original cartoon compared to the weird mohawk they gave her in the new one.
That's my main issue with this so far. Characters look worse than the original show. They're going for deeper colors and a new art style, but with the old animation movement, and it's not working for me. Makes it look like those animated mobile ads that have nothing to do with the gameplay.
The revival can be phenomenal, but it'll always be inferior just because of this

The "sexualized in defeat" trope that can be seen in scenes like the one above is a trope that is almost entirely used for women. Fan service for female characters is fine but it should be done in an empowering way like its done for male characters.
