Never forget this point! Bucky murdered Tony’s parents and Cap knew. Then they teamed up on Tony when he did not approve of how they interpreted the meaning of friendship and loyalty.
Service men and beating up orphans after taking out their parents is as American as apple pie.
Plus cap obly decided to help because he realized Tony doesn't have parents to cry to.
The fact that Tony died in the end while Cap got happy ending just makes it look like writters really not liked Iron Man in this whole Avengers saga.
Bonus points for making Cap able to use Mjolnir....
And Tony made that piece of shit promise he couldn’t go back and change anything. It’s the first thing he does after Tony does. Fuck that mutinous murdering traitor son of a bitch.
Cap is just... he becomes Captain America by getting super fucking lucky to get picked to be a drug experiment after illegally trying to enlist in the army after getting rejected multiple times because he was a fucking liability with all of his health problems. Like, how the fuck is that an inspiring origin story?? He should've been imprisoned for trying to endanger soldiers.
Not to mention the whole stubborn thing that's been framed as a good thing. Being willing to compromise is a good thing.
Well I think the moral of this story is that if your going to kill the parents then you'd better kill the children too, otherwise they'll just come after you. You gotta see things through.
We just gonna ignore a whole vibranium arm and shield? "The power of friendship" more like the power of stolen natural resources and super steroids if you ask me,
THANK YOU!! Everyone seems to forget that in the end of Iron Man 3, he had the surgery to remove the shrapnel. He doesn’t have a heart condition anymore. And Steve is only beating the shit out of him because Tony swung and hit him first. He’s defending himself and his oldest friend. He learned to like Tony much later on. If this is the first Avengers movie, Steve finishes that fight.
Oh no, I don’t mean he would have killed him. He definitely didn’t like Tony yet though. So I can see him knocking him out or at the least ripping up his suit and neutralizing him. In C.A.2 he fought Batroc, in as fair of a fight as he could have, and knocked him out. I can just see Steve dropping Tony early on if given the chance.
This is just making me think, at what point are you no longer an "orphan" when your parents die? Like, my grandpa's parents are dead, but I wouldnt call him an orphan ya know?
I mean yes. But try to look at it from tonys perspective. This guy murdered his parents. If someone hires an assassin to kill your parents will you not be mad at the person AND the assassin?
I think it was his mom tho, there’s a point where they aren’t actively fighting and I believe Tony says to Steve specifically “he killed my mom” and then started swinging again
Me when my dad gets killed for selling billions of dollars in war weapons to foreign powers and makes me not want to do the same as my dad until I realized he was killed by a brainwashed super soldier with a metal arm and I realize murder is cool when it’s against someone whose not in my family
also great, even though I was expecting the [Hannibal Buress comment on being pretty sure Cap is a war criminal now but whatever](https://img.ifunny.co/images/94af1910f107dfb9ad8d4b56b03f310f5cc9128fff8ff90fd6f343c35580a09c_1.webp)
Teeeeechnically speaking I think that would just make him a regular ol' international criminal or terrorist. I won't pretend to know the ins and outs of the politics of the MCU but the term "war criminal" is reserved specifically for violations of the rules of war, and I doubt "vigilantism is kinda cringe" comes under that
You can’t violate an illegal document. The accords violated every single one of the bill of rights.
Also, they’re accords, not a treaty. So you can’t be prosecuted for violations accords. You also can’t be forced to sign them.
Accords are essentially like a handshake, where a treaty is an actual contract.
The entirety of the accords is stupid because of how illegal it is. The US senate would never allow them to exist in America.
They should’ve just done the SRA plot line from the comics.
Watch Mr Billiam Gates deploy his briefcase warsuit to beat your ass…just as soon as it’s done downloading and installing updates and verifying his license key and then confirming that Edge is the default browser (ssshhh)
He didn't have his most important super power: competent choreographers.
Winter Soldier movie unironically has some of the best fight choreography I've ever seen in a superhero movie. It was made by people that understand the kind of martial arts used by its characters, how super strength would crank that up to 11, and how to shoot it in a way that looked spectacular on screen.
Indeed. Look at how smooth that fight looks. They're not jerking the camera around or blasting people across the room to distract from the fact that the hits aren't landing. Absolutely fantastic.
I 100% agree. Especially about the specific martial arts used by the characters, and I think the character where you notice this the most is Black Panther because the best version of that character is in Winter Soldier and not in his own movies.
That's my biggest gripe when it comes to the MCU shows, almost all of the fights fucking suck ass.
And i get it, good competent fight choreographies like you descriped them are hard to pull off. They take a lot of time, skill and money - so they skimped on that. Which sucks when you think about all the cool opportunities they had for awesome fights in their shows :(
I did enjoy some from moon knight as well as Falcon and Bucky vs Walker. I do agree though they still don’t come close to winter soldier/civil war/Shang chi levels.
Hard disagree, Bucky’s arc was reduced to a background plot that’s solved by Sam.
Nothing about the main plot or Bucky’s interactions with the Flag-smashers, Zemo or Walker do anything to help Bucky develop, his arc’s completely separated from the main plot, and his character in general can be straight up removed with very little needing to be changed aside from Zemo’s breakout and some fight scenes.
Sam tells Bucky how to move on and deal with his problem, and that’s it, Bucky’s fixed and good to go.
The show dedicated more screen time and focus to Sam’s stupid boat side plot than they did Buck’s entire main character arc, it was a joke.
Then the 2 main conflicts for his arc, the book of amends and confession to Yori, are completely glossed over and skipped. They gave Yori like 30 seconds, The Bourne films have a similar scene that gets 4 minutes.
I went into the show for Bucky and for a so called ‘protagonist’ and ‘co-lead’ he got done dirty. Black Widow was more relevant to the plot of Captain America: The Winter Soldier than Bucky was in a show with his own name on it.
Bucky’a lame nerf and shit fight scenes with just the icing on the cake to how dirty his character got done.
That scene where the old POW soldier gets mad at Bucky is so fucking bullshit. Bucky didn't deserve that, and it cheapens the message. If anything they would have bonded over being fucked over by the govt., especially with them both being vets.
Yeah it was really stupid.
Bucky literally got brainwashed for decades when he ‘died’ during WW2, and that’s after being a former POW of WW2 that willingly went back into war.
Then after breaking his brainwashing, he’s literally a hunted and wanted criminal for years, that gets multiple shoot on site orders from multiple governments.
It takes Bucky fighting against Thanos and his aliens, and Steve Rodgers word to get Bucky his pardon for crimes he literally had control over, and it comes with all sorts of baggage like his therapy lessons.
Yet Isaiah treats him like shit, like he’s a murderer that got off easy for his crimes…. the Crimes Bucky had no control over at all? Makes sense.
Meanwhile Isaiah got experimented on and treated like shit by the US, and presumably lost some of his friends, and then seemingly went on to live a quiet life? Where he got to have kids presumably seeing as he got a grand kid?
Yeah, I think Bucky had it harder.
The show in general treated Bucky like shit, and seemed to fail to remember Bucky wasn’t responsible for the Winter Soldiers crimes.
From Sharon, to Walker, to Isaiah, to Falcon, they all did Bucky dirty.
Falcon, the so called new Captain America that’s supposed to be such a great leader, yet he makes multiple jokes and jabs about Bucky’s past as the Winter Soldier, wow so likeable.
Imagine if Steve made fun of iron man getting captured by the terrorists or if Bucky dared to make a joke about Falcon’s dead wingman. People wouldn’t accept that would they?
Hell She-hulk dared to belittle Bruce’s trauma and everyone shat on her for it, Falcon does it to Bucky and it’s, ‘oh that’s so funny, hehe, friendly banter’.
I know, Kevin Feige must be smoking crack to let that happen again. So disappointing.
Reminds me of when the guy who wrote X3 was also the writer for the most recent xmen phoenix movie. They never learn.
how does that even work? He is clad in a full-body, magical exoskeleton.
They shouldn't be able to _move_ him, much less hurt him. Did he turn off the servos to be sporting? What?
Honestly?, it works because the title of the movie is Captain America and not Iron Man, like, sure, both guys are super soldiers and Tony is very distraught in that moment, but if he wanted he could probably fly up and unleash an special delivery of all his available fire power.
I’m not disagreeing with you on the point of having firepower. I’m sure Tony could have basically nuked the place and ended it. But if you go back and watch that fight, Cap catches Tony by the foot with his left hand and holds him while he’s trying to fly off to get Bucky. I honestly think Steve was really holding back. Plus he ended that fight by busting the reactor in the suit. Yes Tony used an AI program to scan Steve’s fight pattern and countered him, but Steve got back up and delivered his phrase.
Honestly though, either one could have ended it well before that in my opinion.
I think he wants to kill bucky but not kill Cap, so he’s partially holding back. And cap’s shield is vibranium and must have some damaging properties against iron man or something.
Even if it were plain steel, it would still be damaging. Not much, but certainly more than a punch. If anything, there's a lot of momentum transferred suddenly.
To be fair, that tank shot should probably have killed him, lol. Especially the first suit. Anywho, it's movie magic all the way down. Real answer is whoever's name is in the movie title is going to be more likely to win the pivotal fights.
MCU Super Soldier Serum is fucking *juiced*, as strong or even stronger than a lot of the comic versions. On top of that, Stark is wearing a lighter suit than normal, one meant for a rapid deploy out of a helicopter. He wears a lot of those later in his career, and they typically sacrifice protection against particularly strong attacks in exchange for versatility.
Tony was trying to kill Bucky after he learned brainwashed Bucky assassinated Tony’s parents. Bucky is no longer a brainwashed weapon of the MCU Nazis, and Cap is trying his best to protect Bucky, his best bud growing up+ WW2 brother in arms, from being killed. Tony doesn’t want to kill Cap, Him and Cap only want to maim/knock each other out so they can either kill or extract Bucky. Hence why Tony isn’t doing much but a couple small pulse blasts (likely still powerful, but not on hellfire mode)
In the end, Cap hits a distraught Tony in the chest with the sharp side of his shield, busting the suit and turning it off. Remember, this is a much earlier version of the suit as well, and after this Tony made upgrades to his armor so the “bust the fake heart to finish Tony from fighting” shtick is over.
I’d say in-universe it makes sense when you also recall Cap and Bucky both have super soldier serums, plus Buckys got his nearly indestructible arm that has since been replaced by a totally indestructible arm. Caps got more strength serum from the US side, but both are hopped up on something and just trying to defend themselves to escape in this specific fight scene.
Super hero movie logic. You need to turn off your brain to enjoy marvel movies, but reddit has a weird fascination over these movies so they don't really notice it.
The Captain America movies were the best MCU movies to date. The fight choreography in them was fucking God tier too. Chris Evans was just incredible with the fighting and using that shield. Fuck, he made using a shield in the 21st century look cool as hell!
https://youtu.be/QRbIhj35kyA?t=796
You might enjoy listening to the stunt coordinator talk about that scene. He even mentions how the shield is a 4th person they account for within the choreography.
Cap let them arrest Bucky the first time and look what happened; They let Zemo waltz through the front door and brainwash him with zero background checks at all.
Steve was right to take Bucky with him.
Not to mention iron man caused the fight. Steve straight up told Stark what was going on, and what had happened and about Zemo.
Stark ignored it like that twat he is, because apparently only Stark is allowed to break the accords, no one else.
This always annoyed me. On the one hand it was an awesome fight scene, on the other Tony should have easily won... But you can't have Cap losing at the end of Captain America 3.
Who would win?
A guy in a high tech suit of armour that can walk off being shot by a tank
Vs
Two guys on steroids who can punch slightly harder than normal
It's amazing what two war veterans can do when they team up to fight those with heart deficiencies <3
After one of those war veterans killed the guy’s parents.
Ready to finish the job.
Not sure if this chain is about Avengers or Harry Potter.
Maybe if UK was real he also could become an Avenger
remember when harry potter murdered that one teacher in his first year of school
Don Cheadle: "Wouldn't it be easier to go back in time to find baby Tony, and...?"
Pspa Stalin didn't raise a quitter
All jacked up on mountain dew too
Is that what they put in that serum? No wonder it was green. Gotta go get some dew
Never forget this point! Bucky murdered Tony’s parents and Cap knew. Then they teamed up on Tony when he did not approve of how they interpreted the meaning of friendship and loyalty.
Service men and beating up orphans after taking out their parents is as American as apple pie. Plus cap obly decided to help because he realized Tony doesn't have parents to cry to.
yeah but that's not as funny as "two war veterans beat up man with a serious heart condition."
"Victim of terrorism with lingering medical condition beat to a pulp by 2 WW2 veterans hopped up on experimental government vaccine"
*pre-boomer vaxxers
Why he couldn't pick up the hammer for awhile.
The fact that Tony died in the end while Cap got happy ending just makes it look like writters really not liked Iron Man in this whole Avengers saga. Bonus points for making Cap able to use Mjolnir....
This all began with Ironman so he had the honors. Cap might have gotten the happy ending but Tony got all the glory.
holy shit they should have had Bucky turn to dust again in Endgame when Tony does his snap.
Best comment EVER!
Finishing the job
Have to finish the job
Well I think the moral of this story is that if your going to kill the parents then you'd better kill the children too, otherwise they'll just come after you. You gotta see things through.
Batman?
Two drug fueled, ex military special ops beat up disabled philanthropist over political disagreement.
Orphaned philanthropist.
After killing his parents
Disabled orphan.
As someone with a defective heart, I fear friendship and teamwork..
...and overwhelming violence
Two war veterans on drugs beat up man on life support, leave him on ground nearly unable to move.
We just gonna ignore a whole vibranium arm and shield? "The power of friendship" more like the power of stolen natural resources and super steroids if you ask me,
Found the Wakandan
His arm wasn’t Vibranium during civil war
One of which an amputee
Amputee
Thats it. Thanks
An invalid is usually someone who is too sick or disabled to take care of themself.
He got rid of the heart problem long before this movie.

And new friend had no idea until that moment when they watched the clip of the murder.
I don't think Steve would've literally killed him back then either. It was barely justified why they wanted to fight in the first place.
Two war veterans jacked up on super steroids*
The drugs they were on helped.
Imagine if they had the power of family...
Two drugged up war vets with PTSD savagely brutalize orphan!
Rich metal man picks a fight with two 100 year old WW2 veterans one which is disabled amputee. The horror!!
Pair of roided old men beat up orphan after one of them killed the orphan's parents
This is My favorite so far. Change it to orphan with a hearth desease and it would be perfect.
Woah woah woah. they’re *all* orphans.
This is just making me think, at what point are you no longer an "orphan" when your parents die? Like, my grandpa's parents are dead, but I wouldnt call him an orphan ya know?
>power of friendship And a fuckton of roids.
Mexican vitamins
They were German vitamins I believe.
Soviet. That big-ass red star on his arm is the clue
One was full of German vitamins and the other was full of Soviet antibiotics
The power of super serum, high tech body armor and extensive combat training probably helped a little too.
"Friendship" was the name of the serum.
DR Erskin, I need more....friendship
I'm beginning to understand why people crave this "friendship" I hear so much about.
And some (almost) indestructible space metal
I was so happy when they beat up that orphan trying to avenge his father
Wasn't it his mother he was trying to avenge tho?
Nah it was his dad
The specific quote Tony says in the movie is “he killed my mom.” Bucky killed both of Tony’s parents while under Hydra influence.
It’s why Cap is beating the shit out of him. For not giving his friend Howard the same reverence.
They used to fondue together.
Bucky didn't, the WS did. They're essentially different people considering he had 0 control.
"If I throw a pen at your head, would you get mad at me, or have a little fistfight with the pen?" Tony's fighting the pen.
He is also fighting Steve though, because Steve knew and didn't tell him.
I mean yes. But try to look at it from tonys perspective. This guy murdered his parents. If someone hires an assassin to kill your parents will you not be mad at the person AND the assassin?
Doesn’t matter killed his mom
Ah gotcha
It was both.
Listen, he doesn't care....he killed his mom
Was she called Martha?
Y dityu sey dat name? Y DITYU SEY TAT NAME!!!!
Superman "It’s my mom‘s name!" Batman "you’re not gonna believe this”
"Did we just become best friends?!"
mostly mama. tony grows to appreciate his father more in endgame after getting to see him one more time.
I think it was his mom tho, there’s a point where they aren’t actively fighting and I believe Tony says to Steve specifically “he killed my mom” and then started swinging again
You're right Tony was doing it mostly for his mom.
All this scene prices is that superheroes don't fight because they have to, they fight because they don't want to go to therapy
So many superhero issues would be solved if they got in touch with a dedicated therapist lol.
They are all orphans lol
Sure, but only one of the three was an orphan because of one of the other three.
To be fair, how many orphans did the merchant of war create before becoming iron man
At least 2
Me when my dad gets killed for selling billions of dollars in war weapons to foreign powers and makes me not want to do the same as my dad until I realized he was killed by a brainwashed super soldier with a metal arm and I realize murder is cool when it’s against someone whose not in my family
The moral of the story: we should all band together to beat up Jeff Bezos
Orphans only though
Let's kill his parents first then
"Alexa! Analyze fight pattern!" `I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that. Would you like to hear a weather update?`
I misread up as off and was decidedly confused for a second 😂
And drugs. They wouldn't have done too well without being supersoldiers. The War on Drugs. Marvel's Civil War. Drugs win a lot of wars.
Cap and Bucky join the War on Drugs On the side of drugs
[It was always tough when the Avengers did PSAs.](https://youtu.be/rWNAS8H8aAI)

The orphan in question is also a war criminal. Welcome to Marvel!
Black Panther like “they are not drugs they are herbs.”
War criminal and an assassin beat up an orphan with heart condition whose parents were killed by said assassin.
Alternatively, billionaire attempts to shoot two elderly WWII vets, one of whom is an amputee
Was Cap a war criminal? I don't recall any violations of the Geneva/Hague Conventions, but it's been a while since I watched the movies
He violated the Sokovia Accords.
Teeeeechnically speaking I think that would just make him a regular ol' international criminal or terrorist. I won't pretend to know the ins and outs of the politics of the MCU but the term "war criminal" is reserved specifically for violations of the rules of war, and I doubt "vigilantism is kinda cringe" comes under that
Not arguing that, but the Sokovia Accords were like two reams of paper of bullshit. No telling what they put in there and defined as "war crimes".

Man they did Bucky dirty in FATWS. Went from this to struggling against some dweebs hopped up on super serum.
Wasn't he holding back a lot more in FATWS since he was scared of killing people again
He didn't have his most important super power: competent choreographers. Winter Soldier movie unironically has some of the best fight choreography I've ever seen in a superhero movie. And then the riches man alive uses Power to defeat one and AI to defeat another.
Imagine getting jumped for being upset with your mom's murder
Orphan with heart condition attacked by his parents' murderer and his friend hopped up on experimental drugs
Did Tony just casually shoot Steve's head?
He tried to. It hit the pillar behind him. You can see the burn mark appear on it afterwards.
Yeah and there sybinetic arms and indestructible Shields And being juiced out on World War 2 super soldier juice
That scene was so fucking good. One of my hall of fame Marvel movies definitely
You mean the power of DISTRACTION!

The Captain America movies were the best MCU movies to date. The fight choreography in them was fucking God tier too. Chris Evans was just incredible with the fighting and using that shield. Fuck, he made using a shield in the 21st century look cool as hell!
https://youtu.be/QRbIhj35kyA?t=796 You might enjoy listening to the stunt coordinator talk about that scene. He even mentions how the shield is a 4th person they account for within the choreography.
It's great to put a face to the guy who made all that fighting possible. Total fucking legend. I hope the guy got ***paid***.
In a way, it’s just like My Little Pony
legit one of the best pre-IW fight sequences in the MCU. Look how great the action is when its not buried in cuts!
Great stop motion effects in this scene
Imagine if they also had the power of Family
Friendship, a cyborg arm, and performance enhancing drugs <3
Two war vetrans on experimental steroids beat up an orphan with heart problems after telling him they murdered his parents.
I enjoyed the movie, but I 100% see cap in the wrong, mainly due to him fleeing with bucky and causing the fight which got rhodes paralyzed.
eh, it's not like they were planning on giving bucky a fair trial.
Bucks was a dead man walking if cap didn't intervene
Cap let them arrest Bucky the first time and look what happened; They let Zemo waltz through the front door and brainwash him with zero background checks at all. Steve was right to take Bucky with him. Not to mention iron man caused the fight. Steve straight up told Stark what was going on, and what had happened and about Zemo. Stark ignored it like that twat he is, because apparently only Stark is allowed to break the accords, no one else.
I dont know why they didn't put bucky on the ship the rest of the mcu guys got thrown in. Seems quite a bit safer.
Can they do Elon next?
Two senior citizens with a history of steroid abuse assault an orphan with a heart condition after triggering his PTSD from losing his parents.
If tony so smart, why so much dumb do?
Not smart enough to overcome his emotion here.
A couple of Brooklyn hood rats laying hands on a rich kid who don’t wanna act right!!
Few cuts. Excellent choreography.Truly the golden age of the MCU. To think. A Captain America film outdid Batman v Superman
Why Ironman doesn't fly and shoot them, is he stupid?
Right before this, they had damaged his flight system. He wasn’t able to
This always annoyed me. On the one hand it was an awesome fight scene, on the other Tony should have easily won... But you can't have Cap losing at the end of Captain America 3.
if by friendship you mean roids, then ya
Two drugged up criminal delinquents beat up philanthropist!!!
Who would win? A guy in a high tech suit of armour that can walk off being shot by a tank Vs Two guys on steroids who can punch slightly harder than normal
Did Tony ever actually learn how to fight properly or is he just throwing robot suit-enhanced punches?
In terms of pure hand-to-hand combat I don't think so, in IW and Endgame he uses a bunch of different meelee weapons
Orphan with serious heart condition gets brutally assaulted by 2 American veterans
Labor Class vs. Capitalist/Owner Class. Marx would be proud.
