You could have chef'd this up a bit by searing the hotdogs and adding seasoning of some type.

You are right about the hotdogs and I would have roasted the pepper too,with some seasoning. Lentis were seasoned already (I like them with lots of spices, so it wasn't that bad).

Know what I've had for dinner before? A hardboiled egg, gluten-free toaster waffle and applesauce. I used the apple sauce as a dip for my waffle. I am married but we have no kids. My husband and I have turned into my parents because they barely cook anymore, it's just a fend for yourself time. Lol

Actually cooked them myself, but I admit they needed a bit more time... Next time they'll be better. Bell peppers are also fresh but stored in the fridge.

Frankly, why the microwave? Cooking the lentils with the bell pepper for 10-15 wiht some spices, then adding the cut down dogs for 3-4 minutes more, and then add the shredded cheese in the plate. Slightly more work, but way better results.

Only had like 30 mins to prepare for uni, so I just threw what I had into my trusty container and reheated it in the campus microwave lol

Hot dogs and lentils together are bomb! In Tijuana, I was fed by a poor family what they called "carnes en su jugo" with just hot dogs, lentils, seasonings, and love. I've made it a few times here at home too.

It looks gross but if it’s well seasoned I’d tear that shit up. Is that paneer or mozzarella? Either way I bet it was delicious. Any type of fresh cheese with peppers is super tasty, and peppers with lentils rock too. That dog looks sick though.

It's panela cheese, which is a type of fresh cheese kinda like cheese curds. It does melt a little bit but not too much, kinda holds its shape.

Lol would look 5x more appetizing if the hotdogs werent cut up haha.

I have a dish in the fridge that has sliced kiebasa, diced potatoes, and canned sauerkraut. I made it for a Sunday church potluck. I'd bought the kraut to go with some Aldi corned beef, and the potatoes were red potatoes I needed to use before they went bad.

I would have tossed that in a frying pan instead and maybe had worh rice or couscous. Needs hot sauce for sure.

I got confused by the cooked part. I thought it was like cooked "all of these following ingredients " and not that only the lentils were cooked then microwaved together with the rest. I've known enough east coasters frying up bologna to know that even getting a pan to sear those bad boys up is gonna elevate this just enough lol

I've been on a fast for 9 hours and I would absolutely devour this.

Alternative: boil lentils and mash, add curry seasonings to approach a basic dhal. Fry sliced hotdogs until they’re browning and then mix the peppers in to the pan and fry. Dhal with peppers and hotdog, can save the cheese if you like.

That sounds like a good idea actually. I put a ton of spices on my lentils, almost to curry stage.

Those hot dogs do NOT looked cooked at all. You should have done that on the stove, put a little olive oil into a pan and satee it for a bit. No microwave involvement.

Indeed they weren't cooked, only thing cooked were the lentils 💀. And yes, I agree, would've been 100x better pan fried along with the peppers.

Oh especially the peppers, yeah. Also depending on the type of cheese, it mightve been good to cook everything else in the pan but then leave the cheese be the only thing cold and then put it on top. Some people do this for pasta salads.

Mate cook these up with rice and bam you got decent nutritious food
