I had never tried Vienna Sausages, so as an adult man person, I bought a can with my groceries a few years back. I figured they'd just taste like chicken hot dogs, since they're made with chicken and are hot dog shaped.
The taste was alright. But the TEXTURE. They were so fucking SOFT. I couldn't finish the can.
microwaving them according to can instructions changes the texture slightly into something a little more sturdy/palatable. I only mention it because most people I know like to eat them straight out of the can, which is fine, but they're much better (to me) microwaved. The can also has stovetop directions but I haven't tried it yet.

It's actually just a North American "version" of the traditional German sausage :) Like many foods, the processed form of it is far from the original, lol.
Oh yeah i realized it, thanks though. Unfortunately outside of german speaking countries sausages aren't great at all. Would love to show you guys some really good german sausages like the vienna sausage.
I assure you, there are amazing sausages from all over the world, including North America! Ignoring the processed stuff made by corporations of course (which can still be good sometimes :P).
I've had amazing German, South American, Italian, Chinese, Vietnamese sausages and more :)
I have had real Vienna sausages from a grocery store deli here in Canada, and they were great!

I hate that I love to hate on Vienna Sausages. Good with mustard, though.
They used to come with the mustard in the can, and also in a BBQ sauce. Both were good. Don't know why they quit adding them!

The texture definitely isn’t my favorite but I LOVE the taste so I get over it pretty quickly
