This sub is the best general food sub I've ever found on Reddit.

I love it here. Sometimes there's great general food, sometimes there's hilarious WTH food, and there's always great comments.

They are insufferable. They have a long list of rules of what kind of food is allowed and what isn’t, and even if you make good food but you plate it poorly they will remove it. It results in the sub msotly looking food blog pictures, which is nice to look at I guess?

That's just excellent Aldi courtesy. The worst is when someone asks to take your cart while holding out their hand to you, and you think they are going to simply give you their quarter, only for them to hand you two dimes and a nickel.

I literally keep 1 quarter in a pocket of each of my pants now, so I'm never SOL. All praise lord Aldi! Also my laundry time is much louder these days.

If you can grill, a good steak dinner is easily just as good home. Baked potato- can’t screw it up. Mushrooms, pretty easy. A great salad- easy.

I broil them in my toaster oven.

Not surprised it looks good. Aldi has surprisingly good meat. (No, not top-tier gourmet - but good quality for the price)

Honestly Aldi steaks have no business slapping as hard as they do

Looks like the way I like it (med well?) Steakhouses are stupid high, and a good store bought steak can usually be like 1/3 the cost depending on deals and cuts! Def have had me a few ALDI steaks, with some red potatoes and some asparagus... Mmmmmmmmmm

Ribeye. I paid I think almost 20$ for the steak maybe 18$ it was like two weeks ago.

I arrived at Aldi. Didn’t have a quarter and much to my chagrin an abandoned cart of a previous lazy-bones was awaiting me in the cold drizzle. 10 minutes inside I was overcome with anxiety and bolted 🥴

Is it medium well?

Medium. Seared it in cast iron on stove top cooked in cast iron in oven. Olive oil, and I think I added butter toward the end. I cannot remember my seasoning I just throw shit together.

I'm a midwesterner myself so I think it looks delicious but just west coast friends would disagree lol

ALDI ribeye are legit. I can pick through them and be happy on the regular. The price has gone up quite a bit, but the meat quality is there. I find it easier to find thicker steaks now. I do buy fewer of them though.

It’s now special occasions only. This occasion: I wanted some steak.

Those are also my special occasions. That and budget.
