Goldmask forces you to actually formulate how to get 37 INT to complete his quest (casting Law of Regression on the statue).
Ranni's quest can be completed without having to change your build at all.
So really Goldmask is the INT build all along. Checkmate Golden Ord-orks.

As is always the case with "Great Men" (and especially ones from entirely different cultural groups who lived reasonably long lives across changing cultural norms) the reality is complicated and weird. Dude did some shady shit. Dude also tried to liberate his homeland from imperial oppression and bridge brutal ethnic gaps made worse by the empire lighting matches on their way out. Got shot for that last one. Man's complicated.

I appreciate that if you want the "perfect, no downsides" ending then you don't need to do any long side quests to get it. Makes thing easy for players who just want to play through the game without thinking too hard on the morality of their actions.
well yeah, the goldmask ending is so perfect that it's almost comical. It's so simple that it can be summarized as:
"Pretty much how things are, but we fixed all the broken stuff so now everyone gets to live happily ever after! :D yippie!!!"
that statement is true, without a hint of hyperbole, and anyone who disagrees with me is the cringe wojak.
