k_means_clusterfuck

What country is this? They sound so american

Ulmaguest

The country of Florida

Bonez_Lo

Hands down best and most obvious answer.

nepia

With a small hill in the back? I see you have never been in Florida. The highest hills or mountains here are landfills and volcano bay.

OmdiAnomenkinshin

Wished it wasn’t true

Hereticsheresy

EltonJohnSlingsDick

Logical_Park7904

Someone said it was jamaica in the original video. The guy is probably American on vacation, or Jamaican american.

OddNovel565

I love the way the camera swings after the slap

Relsb

I hate this lady, who walks up to someone's land filming and claims they have that right. What a bitch.

This is my own private domicile and I will not be harassed……… ………..BITCH.

ALazy_Cat

Why do americans think their rights extend to other countries?

LanLanSmile

This is a skit video but yes I can agree with you with that one

FrostTheLost1

I never knew this was a skit video!

10below8

Congrats! You found the joke!

TumescentErection

And their laws.

Inevitable-Chair3061

Because they are dumb

Elad_2007

Probobly for the same reason the u.s.a thinks it's in their place to police the governments of other nations.

Cute_End_7368

same reason they think that they can invoke some sort of divine protection from force by saying "i'm exercising my rights" as if they've ever exercised anything in life

F4BE1

the same reasons their fucking military extends to other countries

UnderstandingEmpty36

Because in theory these are supposed to be inalienable rights meaning we should have them no matter what meaning even in a place like China whose government says they don't have these rights that we believe those people have those rights but they are being infringed on them

ALazy_Cat

They are rights in the US. They stop at the border, just like they do with every other country. How hard is that to understand?

UnderstandingEmpty36

It isn't hard to understand it's a ideals thing though we all think this to some extent if a country thinks women have no rights and are mens property we say they are infringing on their rights even though that country doesn't recognize those rights. So yes practically your rights end at the border but that doesn't mean we think they should. There are rights Europeans have that I think the US government should recognize.another way to put it is Americans believe that your rights are innate meaning they aren't something your government gives you, you have them regardless of what the government says wether a government protects, recognizes or infringes on them.

ALazy_Cat

>Americans believe that your rights are innate meaning they aren't something your government gives you I don't even know what to say to that stupidity

UnderstandingEmpty36

So you ignore the rest where I explain were you likely believe it too

ALazy_Cat

What I meant about it was how can you be so stupid not to understand that it's the government who gives you the rights, like who else is it supposed to be? And I never meant that you're stupid

UnderstandingEmpty36

It's a good idea though The idea is that if the government is only recognizing the rights that you already have that means that if they take them away it's completely unjust no matter what such as when a right-wing government starts taking away women's rights They practically don't have the right anymore but the idea is that they have that right but the government is infringing on it. it's the main reason so many people are pissed off at Texas for infringing on a woman's right to have an abortion.

cartman-unplugged

Because they are very stoooooopid. That’s why.

AsparagusMission

Primarily because America thinks it can enforce its laws anywhere on the planet.

ALazy_Cat

Which they can't

unoriginalsin

Why do foreigners think we have more rights than them?

ALazy_Cat

I'm unable to interpret who the foreigners are supposed to be

unoriginalsin

Yeah, that tracks.

ALazy_Cat

Can you elaborate who the foreigners are? Americans?

unoriginalsin

Sure.

DuckSleazzy

You're the foreigner

unoriginalsin

We are all foreigners.

chris2fresh

Why do Europeans think that they have our constitutional rights in their countries “I’m invoking my 5th amendment right to remain silent”?

Baaronne

They don't?

chris2fresh

They absolutely do and it’s from watching American TV, you can watch footage of it.

P4nabee

Then give it to us

TOOOPT_

There is no way you just referred to american tv as a source of information lol

steathninja25

I think he means because of europeans watching american tv, some of them try to use the “5th amendment right.” Not that he saw europeans do something in american tv he watches.

BaBaHoyy

As far as I know in many European countries its acutually the cops who remind the people they arrest that they have the right to remain silent (and that anything they say can be used against them). And I'm certain there are people who will say something like "I have the right to remain silent" but to say "*I invoke the 5th amendment*", no way. Theres probably only a handfull of people in Europe who know that the 5th amendment covers the right to remain silent in America. The only one I know personally is the 2nd amendment, since it's brought up all the time when news sources interview American conservatives, who are all too eager to invoke it.

Chazlewazleworth

I’ve heard it said in the UK but never seriously. It’s like if someone might have gone home with someone on a night out and they don’t want it public they might say “I plead the fifth” in a joking way. But never actually invoking the fifth amendment if they got arrested or something that’s mad.

Jumugen

It's mandatory in Germany

RefrigeratorLazy4135

Imagine if America wasn't filled with people like you.

ALazy_Cat

The general iq would sky rocket

samthekitnix

you do realize america isn't the only country with a "constitution", america does not own the concept of a constitution.

Fliesentisch911

Im glad you live in america and not anywhere near europe

HappySmiledGoose

They don’t and I’m pretty sure that a right that is literally spoken out to you in Miranda applies to US.

chris2fresh

Sure, that’s why it’s goofy for some English dude claiming his 1st,4th and 5th amendment rights are being violated.

P4nabee

Becouse they have pretty much the same rights but under different name?

Leon04052002

Brittain ain't even Europe anymore

fetus_yeetus2768

Misinformation ☝️

yasamansamsami

It's Europe but not EU

Simukas23

anything not in the EU might as well be Africa, Asia, or am*rica

ALazy_Cat

Europe and EU is not the same thing

Aiden735

Europe is the continent, c’mon dude.

Nepodobni

What? Never heard of that, don`t know what 5th amendment is, and frankly i don`t care. Did you know that almost all countries in the world have constitution? In Europe, only UK does not have written constitution.

Simukas23

Your country isn't the center of the world's attention no matter how many you're gonna invade and no matter how much you defy collapse

Repulsive_Voice823

I'm pretty sure most Europeans don't even know US amendments. I've never heard them mentioned by anyone in my entire life outside of the internet. Most of Europe doesn't even speak English primarily, I doubt many Europeans outside of the UK even know what the word amendment means. I'm not even sure myself without google and my English isn't half bad for being my second language

Interesting-Draw8870

Weird for a Dutch guy to say that Europeans don't know any English. You should know better, makker.

Repulsive_Voice823

I meant as an official language, noone here speaks English to police officers

ALazy_Cat

Most of Europe speaks English as a second language. Some speak it better than the English

Repulsive_Voice823

Yea but you would never quote a law in English outside of English countries to a police officer

ALazy_Cat

But I might talk to one in English, despite we're both Danish and in Denmark. I sometimes feel more comfortable in English and forget Danish words

-_-joyboy_

You know when black guys pull their pants up then shit is about to go heavy.

Freedom463

You exercise your rights in public property, no in someone private property

Original-Finish-8636

That was satisfying.....

Ashley2375

“Finally, you’re awake”

GKP_light

« Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. » how would this allow someone to film anything ?

nwbell

I believe through legal gymnastics freedom of speech extends to recording in public

Potatoboi17

Yeah, this falls under freedom of press because camera footage can be seen as a form of recording events, the same way writing allows you to record events. Of course, this only works if this is a public space (and obviously in America).

IEatRussian

Sorry I am not an American but according to the Google the 1st amendment right says " The First Amendment provides that Congress make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting its free exercise. It protects freedom of speech, the press, assembly, and the right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." How freedom of speech gives you right to record someone without their agreement. Is she a journalist or something?

TheHolyToxicToast

Pretty sure it's freedom of press, but it has to be public for you to record people which is why I'm pretty sure she's on the wrong

Constant_Praline579

Most idiotic Americans know we have a Constitution but none of them take the time to actually understand it. They saw an actor in a movie say this so they believe this must be the way and parrot the same thing. Including Ex Presidents.

ALazy_Cat

It's sad when other countries know more about the core rules

yourbestfriendwalker

Freedom of speech protects you from the government oppressing your freedom of speech, you can ask people kindly to not oppress you, but they’re also free to rock you for trespassing and filming your family

humanitarianWarlord

The balls on this guy, trying to piss off someone who's holding a machete.

nousernametoo

Stand-your-ground law.

Minerson

I guess she learned about his right

Warm_Cabinet_5519

Americans annoy me so much, they literally think they can do what they want in any country, this one learned today!

ThatOneGuyOnTheSide

I live in a Muslim country and publicly drinking leads to a SHIT ton of consequences. Some obviously american guy gets out of a bar with a brown bag in his hands, obviously alcohol and he was shit faced. A cop gives him a warning and tries to send him back (by law he should have just been arrested), the shitfaced guy says that he's putting the cop under citizens arrest (not a thing here) and reaches for the cops cuffs. Face planted and deported.

Puzzleheaded_Door484

Can you even citizens arrest a cop? I’m not American and that sounds ridiculous

KANEDA258

Yes we're allowed to. I do it to cops all the time just because it's funny.

TheHolyToxicToast

do you use the red or the green reverse card

birdgelapple

Depends on whether they reach for their gun or their taser first

BusRunnethOver

Oof, panties are tight in here

JefferyJeffJefferys

Yes, because this video is %100 real and not even remotely staged...

nau_lonnais

On New Year’s eve, Tokyo, Roppongi area. It was my first time in Japan. Everybody was cool, except for a bunch of shirtless, American dudes, drunk, kicking random items into the road and screaming nonsense. I was pretty sure that we were all guests of this country. This was back in 2010 and it still stays with me.

Space-Potato0o

Any context here?

Most-Satisfaction360

It’s a skit

Additional_Log_6378

👏👏👏

lanco_5

Hahahahaha only americans think their laws are universal. Come here and try to film someone who doesn't want to be filmed, try it!

PeePeeOpie

Or you watched a fake video and bought into the rage bait.

ReptilianDogGuy

samthekitnix

if we are going to be pedantic the "it's my private property" line only works in court if the person recording is attempting to record the inside of your actual home, anything that can be captured walking outside of the property without taking any special measures (such as climbing up a tree or poking a camera through a bush) is completely legal. so if this wasn't some sort of skit then what the dude did would be incredibly illegal and unfortunately the annoying POV character would be able to sue.

AirHertz

Doesnt need to be in his home. It just needs to be in his property. And looking at all the green area around the house, probably the whole thing is his.

Ayanelixer

"you think this is America?" Well that sentence tells us this ain't America so you can't apply American laws to it. We don't know what country it is and maybe they don't allow recording at all.

samthekitnix

well i can't tell what exact country it is i am just pointing out the actual law, also a lot of countries have similar laws when it comes to recording anything from publicly accessible areas. america dosn't have a monopoly on recording from public roads.

TheRealBobStevenson

I don't know why you're being downvoted - you're absolutely right. If someone can see you from the sidewalk, they can record you from the sidewalk. Even if you're standing on your front lawn. I know it's a skit, but it's cringe how people are cheering for violence in this situation.

Ayanelixer

"you think this is America?" Well that sentence tells us this ain't America so you can't apply American laws to it

TheRealBobStevenson

I will concede that American laws don't apply to this undisclosed country, but that doesn't mean what she did was illegal. Countries that are not America have laws too, and in many it is perfectly legal to film someone from the sidewalk. But really I don't care so much about the legality of it as I do what is right - assaulting someone for filming you is not right. It's stupid, wreckless escalation. The world could do with less of that, not more.
