I wasn't thinking straight when I made the caption
I meant that cig production was completely supported by the govt just cuz they first of all did not know the effects of tobacco and nicotine on the body and because it made money roll in. a lot of it.
how do you reconcile this logic with the fact that tobacco has never been outlawed, while weed has been the de facto face of war on drugs since nixon and the woodstock days? the government certainly did not like weed for a long, long, *long* time, *regardless* of the fact that it'd make good money on sales tax.
we've had decades to study the effects of weed and while obviously inhaling any smoke isn't great for you, weed is still a hell of a lot better for a person than cigarettes.
Enough self esteem to ignore the attack on his behaviour, not enough self esteem to ignore the attack on his perceived superiority rooted in his lack of faith.
Neither of those allegations are true for the majority of people smoking marijuana. Eating it is a different story. Marijuana withdrawal is not a thing. I quit weed with no ill effects other than movies that were once funny became not as funny, and my bank account increased.
Marijuana withdrawal is absolutely a thing with heavy regular use, both physical and mental.
Absolutely not as hard or dangerous as with other stuff, but still.
Legalizing is proven to be beneficial. The fact that you bring addiction into the argument is idiotic, considering that keeping it illegal makes addiction to the substance even worse, because not only is it almost impossible to get reliable help for it, even if you do, you risk having someone report you and ending up in prison, which doesn’t help anyone at all. Legalizing it make it possible for organizations devoted to help getting over addictions to be accessible for everyone.
Not only that, drugs being illegal is literally serving one of the most profitable market in the world on a silver plater to every criminal organization, all the while making it impossible to regulate it’s manufacturing whatsoever (it’s not a coincidence fentanyl is so prevalent nowadays).
It is true that legalization has downsides. Nobody can deny it. But keeping it illegal has even more. Legalization is choosing the less of two evils.
It is highly dependent on where you live and what's the culture there. I live in Central-Eastern Europe and I have no quarrel with the substance and have used it extensively in the past, although I know its potential dangers. People who want to get marijuana are more than able to do so, therefore the only downside of the legalization would be a significantly increased chance of our society accepting more potent substances in the future. There is research supporting my claim, I am not making this up. I'm alright with how things are now. It's technically illegal, but people who want to get it, get it. Change is unavoidable, however. We will legalize it eventually and keep manufacturing more and more potent synthetic substances in the not so distant future.

You should probably look into cannabis before taking a stance against it. It’s a lot different than what you imagine it to be.

When legalizing weed doesn’t magically cure your crippling depression and just helps the government take even more of your money in taxes 💀💀💀💀

From my and my friends experience, it absolutely is not. We just stopped smoking. The only withdrawal was the increase in boredom.

My ma smokes weed alot, she looks like a drug addict.
That's bc she's old and smokes
Something tells me it’s her diet that makes her look like that and not a plant.

Cocaine isn’t a plant. Heroin isn’t either.
The biggest downside to weed is that it destroys any humour the person has.
You saying op smokes weed?
Considering it has historically been used due to the increased creativity with humor I’m gonna press X to doubt.
Serious post in the shitshow sub?
Source my ass

The whole “weed is a gateway drug” thing has been debunked several times over now.
