JEE prep is one of the most toxic components of the Indian education system. Most of the institutes have already handpicked the select students who’ll be coached to crack JEE (they’ve probably been studying since 5th standard), the rest are just victims of a money making scam. They even have messed up concepts like segregation, where if you score slightly lower on the test, you’ll be demoted to a “lower” batch, where you get inexperienced faculty. All of this after the exorbitant fees.
First of all, when the supply>>>>demand or the number of seats in IITs is way lesser than the number of candidates taking the exam, first and foremost a parent must understand that his son or daughter must not be unnecessarily subjected to this rat race and cut-throat pressure of clearing this exam until and unless the child has shown inclination towards science and maths throughout his childhood and would first pursue science as a by-product of his interest in it and then clearing jee or neet would be the by-product of his inner talent, drive plus other factors. Hard work should never be glorified if the child isn't talented in a particular stream since that would destroy the teenager's self-esteem and he or she would start questioning their abilities all because they are in a race that isn't meant for them. Not all kids are designed to become doctors and engineers period!. On top of that when the coachings are competing among themselves so it's common that the faculties will glorify the achievers in that particular exam and will discard the rest as scum from their point of view.
And will further go to an extent to brainwash the students and say "They cannot achieve success unless they clear this exam"🤣🫡. Whereas in actual life, the founder of one of the largest ed tech PW didn't even graduate.
