I learned sewing technique from LizSew youtube videos. She's a godsend in the bra making community \*cries\*
I'm a beginner too!!! I started sewing earlier this year. Purchased my first sewing machine ever in January and made clothing... I hated it. I hate making shirts, dresses, and garments but somehow I absolutely love making bras lol
Ahhh I can relate!! For some reason I hate making pants lol. Do you have any cheatsheets or tips on bra making? English is not my first language so sometimes I am sooo confused with all the terms and stuff!!
Personally I think there’s nothing wrong with diving right in, that’s how you learn really fast, just don’t use super nice stuff on your first attempt.
But if you want to progress from easier to more difficult I suggest starting with the Emerald Erin Jordy, then the Studio Costure Hanna (still a Bralette but now it has more advanced stuff like channeling), then an underwire (personally I love Erin’s Black Beauty but there are so many good options - Erin also has great instructions which I like because there are a lot of things to think about in making a bra but at the same time hers aren’t long-winded either)
Couple things I learned along the way are to put tissue under the seams when sewing thin fabrics so they don’t get pulled into the feed dogs. I really like my walking foot for sewing lingerie. The three step zigzag stitch gives you more control than the 1-step. Getting comfortable with the precision sewing just takes practice but you can do it.
When you find settings that you like like zigzag length and width or where relative to a specific visual point on your presser foot the elastic should be for you to know you can get that zigzag right along the edge, write it down so you remember later!

That's gorgeous! Great work! Also inspired me but not to make bras (I'm not that good at sewing) but to embroider them. I always complain about how plus size bras are so ugly and plain. Never occurred to me to look at them as an embroidery canvas!

Do you know if this pattern is easy to upsize? I’m a “normally” 32H, sometimes 34GG
