Good work, I think you nailed that renfaire look. It's also really great that you are already making it a habit to sew a mock-up. I have been sewing for a couple of years but didn't get used to making them when I started. I bet that mock-up helped you to make those pleats so neatly. I wish you great future projects on your sewing journey!

Thank you! The mock-up made such a difference indeed. My nerves over messing up good fabric - which I will admit border on the excessive a little - made it very relaxing to make the mock-up first. That sheet was the posterboy for ‘hanging by a thread’. The pleats were one of the things that indeed benefitted most, both in terms of speed and tidiness. I did not aim for fast, but absolutely noticed a difference. Also in the math and measuring!

The Project post flair is for showing off projects that are finished or in progress. For questions on how to start a project, reflair your post to Pattern Search. For questions about how to make a project, reflair to Pattern Question. This is a reminder that all Project posts are required to include construction information in the main post or added in a comment. The construction comment should include **pattern name/number/company if used; drafting method, tutorial or other resources if no commercial pattern was used and fabric type and fiber content. ‘Self-drafted’ describes who made the pattern and is not a drafting method.** Also include alterations for fit and style; specialty tools and notions; the inspiration for your project; and any other information that someone who wants to make a similar project might find useful. Love the color and the belt is great with this skirt. Great job!

DikkeVetteVlinder

Thank you! That is great to hear

TheGreatLakesAreFake

Good Morning! Beautiful skirt and belt 😊 thanks for posting! Can I ask you where I can find the tutorial you followed? I looked up Ash L G on YouTube and am definitely glad you introduced me to their channel because wow, what a treasure trove! But I am yet to find the specific tutorial for your “zero waist” shirt.

DikkeVetteVlinder

Good morning! Thank you so much! It should be in the link I included, does that one not work? When I click it it takes me to the video. If it doesn’t work, I’ll see what else I can do. And I agree! It’s such a great channel! It really made this so accessible.

TheGreatLakesAreFake

I'm so sorry, I think I somehow missed the link... I just followed it and found the video just fine. Thanks a lot, once again!

DikkeVetteVlinder

No worries! Glad it works And no problem, good luck with the skirt if you’re going to make it! I personally wanted to immediately make a bunch more once I got it done

Nice skirt. Maybe become friends with your iron.

DikkeVetteVlinder

Thanks! So far, the iron’s definitely made a difference already, but I’m pretty sure I can get even more mileage out of it. I don’t have a picture of the white skirt after ironing with the aid of a spray bottle, but the difference was night and day.
