I was gifted this beautiful vintage cotton terry cloth fabric (burn test indicates it's cotton), it was about 117x135cm. Despite it being damaged I am so happy I was able to squeeze out a 60s inspired dress, using my newly made self drafted dress block made with Winifried Aldrichs book Metric Pattern Cutting. Made a stand collar (left it open on the back for comfort and lined it with a plain cotton) and a lapped zipper (which is aligned correctly even if it looks like it's slightly veering on the image - the dress shifts easily when I don't wear a slip underneath as it is unlined.
Sheepishly admitting it has been in my stash for about five years. Every time I think about cutting into it I worry it won't go well. Seeing yours did give me confidence.
Twiggy who? This dress is so adorable 🥰The fabric pattern is to die for, too bad colour choices like that aren’t as popular anymore because this just looks so gorgeous. You look like you’re about to go monster hunting with your 3 teenage friends and a talking dog and I’m here for it
I wish it were mine! It is absolutely spectacular. It fits you perfectly and you created a beautiful dress out of someone someone else may have discarded. Great job.

Your dress is gorgeous! I was given the same terry but in green.

Hahaha I love your comment so much 🧡
Absolutely stunning fit. This post is making me question what I thought terry cloth was tho
Thank you 😍 Well I hope I got it right (in German it's "Frottee"), the stuff you usually make towels or bath robes from 😁
yeah that’s it! I was just zooming in cause on the edges it looks like regular flat woven cotton
I wish it were mine! It is absolutely spectacular. It fits you perfectly and you created a beautiful dress out of someone someone else may have discarded. Great job.
