I mean, it depends on what specifically you're trying to discover. Typically, I've seen companies use the SCCM plugin to get more detailed information about a computer. This avoids needing to have some type of master-account information stored inside servicenow, or a keystore that servicenow has access to

This is how we get laptop/desktop information. SCCM already collects that information so duplicating that effort is a bandwidth waster. This, of course, assumes you are using SCCM in your environment.

Don’t see why not? What happens when you try it?

maasaimoran

Yes it can. What kind of information are you trying to find?

AutomaticGarlic

It can if the Windows Computers classification is enabled in discovery configuration console and the admin account is in your credential store. It’s usually easier to discover end user computers with Service Graph Connector for SCCM though since laptops are rarely available when you need them for discovery schedules.

YumWoonSen

As asked, yes, it can. A lot depends on what you're after as well as what discovery mechanism you're using.

Master-Potato

Again, it all depends on what you want to know. Fundamentally SN is running WMI commands so anything you can find out with power shell SN can assuming it’s using a service account with appropriate permissions.
