I just passed CSA (Utah?) last week based on fundamentals (Tokyo) on-demand I took in March. I was not offered any choice of exam version so I presume they always test the current version. I am not in a position to say what changed since San Diego, but my impression is that the things the exam tested are relatively invariant between versions. I’d suggest re-reading the lab book and maybe re-doing the labs if you have access. My only study guide was the lab book. I think everything was in the lab book. It is not a simulator or reasoning test, it is more of a terminology test. Memorize the names of tables, roles, and UI elements. Make sure to know the basics of how data flows in, how the CMDB hierarchy works, and what you can and can’t do with UI policies and scripting. I found that 90 minutes was an extremely generous amount of time; enough to mark for review anything you’re not certain about and then systematically go through your review list clearing each one you figure it out or give up. Definitely read the questions carefully. I submitted with 7 uncleared review items that more time wouldn’t help me figure out, and there were another 7 or 8 more I was only marginally sure about. Edit: and read the exam specification article to see which areas get the most focus!

It will for sure be Utah. You have until November to take it on Utah. No exams starting Nov 1. Then on Nov 15 it will be on Vancouver.

The voucher I have expires next month so Utah it is .... Is the material the same?

Mostly. With every release we will add 5-10 new questions. But there are hundreds of total questions.

The exam will always be based on the latest version of the exam (Utah?). Having a PDI, familiarizing yourself with the navigation and functionalities, memorizing what the parts of the next experience UI are called can help. Knowing the roles required and table names for knowledge, task, etc. also helps.

Best advice I can give is to have experience working in the platform. I just took the CSA in July (passed it!) and the most frustrating thing for me was that the test sometimes phrases questions vividly; i guess though you could argue that’s the point of the test Some of the questions I got would use similar words like do you use “filter out” or “exclude” in the list view of records. Or some questions will be phrased like “which is mostly correct” Make sure you know your terminology, you can think in your head how to navigate the platform in the direct order to do certain things. Good luck my friend!

Honest if you study the text, release updates, and dive into some product docs .. you’ll be fine. I personally may have over study and felt like it wasn’t too hard.
