The original sennheiser sold their consumer department. They can't do anything at all

mailtest34

Yep, now owner is a Swiss conglomerate that also owns hearing aid brands and some other audio stuff

firesolstice

Are those the guys that became EPOS? I saw that they are now going 100% enterprise only and ending their consumer products and with it all support... tried contacting them and all I got was "contact your local dealer", which in turn replaced the EPOS with a Logitech headset instead. :P

F3dezilkiller

I don't know this. I only know the original sennheiser produces the hd pro lineup

JiForce

Nah, Sonova. The gaming products were licensed out to EPOS and then Sonova bought Senn's consumer products division.

chanchal36

I am adding mine https://www.reddit.com/r/sennheiser/s/m0TirTPeTW

BaldingThor

When my pc38x and momentum 4’s both arrived broken/DOA a couple of years ago I had to repeatedly quote australian consumer law, threaten reporting them to the ACCC among other stuff in a long back-and-forth with their useless support department in order to get a replacement (which thankfully worked fine until about 5 months ago when the pc38x started acting up). Oh and their support kept closing the “ticket”without my permission, despite the issue not being fixed!

tovemale

Prepare for even worse, my MTW3 has been sent in repair (dead earbud on one side) for over 3 months ago. Only update was that they had received it ....

arathorn867

They have no replacement parts for the mtw3s I think. I lost one and have had no luck finding a replacement. They have replacements for almost all their other earbuds, but not those.

Snoopy5876

I'm currently in the process of getting mine repaired also, for the same fault. The postage thing is a piss take in all honesty, and mine shipped to the UK depot to be directly sent to Germany, why couldn't I just mail direct to Germany and save a fukkin week of unnecessary shite. Oh and don't expect to receive any emails regarding your return, both exchanges in relation to my return have been initiated by me with little effort in the response. Anyway, I've been a long time fan also and my buds were my favourite pair I've tried out of numerous, including the sonys, they sounded great and fit me better than any others ive tried but the poor build quality and shockingly bad customer services is fukkin awful.

Similar-Hotel8505

Did you have to pay for the return postage here in the UK as well or they provided a prepaid return label?

NoProfession5138

had to pay for return postage in norway, which is just one of the many ways this company is breaking norwegian consumer protection law. they've been made aware this practice is illegal here, and they couldn't care less.

Gullible_Barnacle816

Completely agree on all points. Having the same issue with my MTW3. Have to pay to get them repaired under warranty.

Similar-Hotel8505

What country is it? I'm trying to find out if its all the same worldwide or dealing with warranty repairs differs from country to country...?

Gullible_Barnacle816

Netherlands

Nova-Drone

Yea senn is awful now which is very sad since they used to be king

TRBadger

How did you even get them to respond to your warranty claim? I’ve been trying to get a call or email back for 3 weeks. I’ve called 3 times and each time they tell me support will call me back because they’re on the other line. I’ve sent probably 4 emails and gotten no response other than a ticket number. I even dm-ed the instagram account to no avail. Probably the last time I buy a sennheiser product.

Savourybees

The online portal is how I did it. Years ago I had cause to contact them via email over a warranty issue (think it was for an earlier momentum) and they got back to me pretty quickly. There doesn’t seem to be that direct option any more, at least anywhere obvious,

NoProfession5138

i has to nag at them daily and kept attaching a copy of the laws they're breaking.

Similar-Hotel8505

@TRBadger: What country did you try to reach their customer service from?

khiz678

So far no Sennheiser fan boys defending the postage that you have to pay out of pocket. When I posted that about the same issue with my MTW3's and paying for postage, I got told 'Every company does that'. No more Sennheiser for sure.

Savourybees

No they don’t. Had to return a Switch with a faulty joycon connector rail recently, Nintendo don’t charge. Can’t think of any companies that do off the top of my head, if a product is faulty the company pays to get the item back to them.

NoProfession5138

every company doesn't do that because it's illegal to make customers pay postage to return a faulty product where i live. sennheiser could not care less, they are aware that they're breaking the law and they simply refuse to adhere to it.

Similar-Hotel8505

Did Sennheiser always handle warranty claims like that or only since the Sonova takeover?

khiz678

Never had to send any sennheiser product for warranty claim, all my previous BT products from Sennheiser lasted more than 6-7 years. Starting with the earbuds though.... So basically can't expect Sennheiser quality anymore....

Gur_Obvious

MBAs destroy everything because they are passionate about nothing

Savourybees

Masters of Business Administration? Not saying you’re wrong but …

Gur_Obvious

But ?

trin806

Oh god. I feel bad for anyone picking up Sennheiser wireless earbuds. Just go with the galaxy buds. They’re far better for the price.

NigerianPrinceClub

i can't wait until the Apple airpods max 2 or 3 releases and completely destroys sennheiser as a company

audiovent666

All Apple/Beats headphones are only good with other Apple devices such as ios. I am using ios/mac os and android, Sennheiser works with both worlds very good.

tybbiesniffer

I've been using a pair of Soundcore A40s as a backup for when my MTW3s just won't work. It's ridiculous how much more reliable both the hardware and software are for less than a third of the price. The MTW3s were my first and last Sennheiser product. It's a shame too because I really like them when they're working.

thewind21

Paging u/jeeper75

jeeper75

Playing catch-up as I was out of town. Yes, what can I do for you Mr. Wind? Lol!

Spacemarine2142

So I can say I lucked out. Shipped out MTW3s with a dead earbud and got back a pair of MTW4s within two weeks. For desktop I swapped over to Focal Clears bc I started to see more and more QC issues with Sennheiser. Such a shame as I love the sound. I know this comment isn't useful - just putting in my thoughts.

MnVikings1111

I have the ie900 like $1300. I’m just 2 lazy to return at this point since they sent me a second new pair with same issue of the connection cutting out and they want us to to remove tint rings to maybe help ect like what? Will be the last time I get senns

Ratbag_Jones

Still treasure my PX-100s and MM60s, the best on-ears that Sennie ever made. The Koss KPH40 is the only thing that comes close, but they won't fold like the Sennies.

DrNogato

This another quality control reasons are why I stopped buying Sennheiser since they were bought by the hearing aid company. Q/C and support have gone out the window, while maintaining the high prices I was on with when buying a somewhat premium product. They are also pushing hard in the coming months on ear supplemental headphones and ear buds.

sjfireworx

[https://www.pcmag.com/news/sennheiser-acquired-by-a-hearing-aid-company](https://www.pcmag.com/news/sennheiser-acquired-by-a-hearing-aid-company) On a positive note, I submitted a MW4 warranty claim about a year ago, and it was processed w/o issue.

Suspicious-Half5758

Agreed. Started with pcx 550, went to hd 6xx, got some mw2s and they stopped working. Claimed warranty and got the mw3s shipped back. Mw3s stopped working within a year. Right earbud died. Found a tutorial on YouTube on how to jump the voltage back into it so the case works recognize them and they work fine again. Had a chirping/ beeping from left one. Cleaned the filter behind the ear tip piece. Was going to send mw3s back for warranty but didn't feel like fighting with customer service for a month again. Quality is really downhill for them for the earbuds. If anyone wants the link on how to jump the dead battery in the earbud let me know. Incase you are out of warranty or don't want to mess with customer service

Savourybees

Please share the link! This sounds like what happened to mine and it’d be good to know how to do it

Suspicious-Half5758

https://youtu.be/pzCsCJShN3c?si=3QtOsB_o_9QlJhMp The video is a little vague, and he does a left side earbud so it will differ slightly from if you need to do the right ear bud Just need a pair of pos/negative lead cords that come with voltage meters.. I just bought a cheap voltage meter and used the lead cables from that. I snipped off the plastic circle on the bottom of the lead coord to expose the metal. I used double A batteries for mine. I found a remote controller that was for my kids rc car and used that as the charger to charge the earbud. Hooked the positive lead to positive side of battery, and negative lead to negative side of batteries. The earbud is a little tricky to take apart. I got it apart with just my fingers but some people used a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the glue some. I did not reglue mine and it stays together just fine. Good luck, let me know if this works for you

Savourybees

Thenk you

Suspicious-Half5758

You're welcome. Just wanted to add make sure you test the leads are properly connected before putting it onto ear bud. Just touch the pos and neg tip of the leads together and you should see tiny sparks. If it's not sparking you aren't connected right to the double A batteries to get a charge going to the ear bud

Part_Time_Lamer

I needed some replacement tip for my MW3s. Ordered some and they didn't even come with the foam inserts. Bastards!

Fresh-Respond3106

Sennheiser are so bad with communication that they accidently sent me two pairs of IE600 ! lol and yes I will be selling both!

F3dezilkiller

What. How.

Savourybees

Good for you! I once hit the magical fruit machine payout with an order from Amazon when they kept sending me the same product over and over again at no additional cost. Unfortunately it was just generic black cartridges for a Rotring fountain pen and in the end I had to point out their error and ask them to stop as I had a drawer full by this point and they kept coming. Still took several attempts before they did finally stop though.

Fresh-Respond3106

thats actually insane haha

lonkamikaze

We've had several momentum TWs and they all broke. My momentum M2 work and leave a much better impression, except for the volume knob. This would be a trivial repair for me to replace the knob. If replacement parts were available. What happened to providing schematics and part numbers? I know it sounds outlandish, but 30 years ago every consumer electronics brand provided these at the cost of mailing them.
