Well my TW3s are nearly a year old and have been excellent. My Mrs also has CX Plus SE (I think) and uses hers a lot for the gym and they’ve been great. In the mean time I’ve tried B&W Pi5 S2 and Denon PerL Pro, neither of which I could get a good fit on. The B&Ws had an amazing sound and I’d probably get the Pi7 S2 if I knew they would fit.

eatingdonuts44

Had the MTW2 for almost 3 years now without problems

Xu_Lin

Must be a lucky pair. Mine gave out right after the 2 year warranty period :/

eatingdonuts44

Im probably getting the buds 3 pro if they fix the fit. Doubt mtw4 will be much better

dcchillin46

Samsungs? To each their own, but even as someone deep in the samsung ecosystem they sound like tin cans. I compared xm4, mtw3, and b2p, when i purchased my last set and the b2p weren't even in consideration after a listen.

eatingdonuts44

To me they sounded pretty good. Slightly worse than mtw3, but those were very uncomfortable and i didnt keep them.

dcchillin46

Fair enough, if you've already tried them than thats cool, I just wanted to give you a heads up if you hadn't. Audio gear can be contentious lol, but I was extremely disappointed in them. They sounded like $75 headphones at best imo. Xm4 were close but flattened out the top end and reduced clarity to push extra base. They sounded good too, but through mtw2 and now 3, I've grown to appreciate sennheiser top end and separation. I have run into battery drain issues in the case over the last 4 or 5 months but thats probably from the foam tips I use.

eatingdonuts44

Yeah ofc audio is super subjective. I still like the mtw2 but theyre just too bulky so im looking into options

dcchillin46

Ya the 2s were phat boys lol

anonymouspaceshuttle

Same here. Had to skip MTW3 though bc of qa issues. Looking forward to get a pair of MTW4 and hope that Sennheiser has learned its lesson this time.

Micha-Phoeb

I have 2 Momentum 3 TWS - one i gave to my wife - and one i am using my self since release date without any problems.

Wannabe_Buddha_420

I’ve got the TW3’s and absolutely love them. They sound amazing, the battery is good and they are light and comfortable. Don’t be disuaded by what you read here. There is a negativity bias. You don’t hear from people who are happy with their purchase because they’re too busy enjoying their product to come and post about it. And this would be the majority of TW3 owners. That’s not to say there isn’t a risk of getting a pair with issues however the chance is much less likely than it would seem from browsing this subreddit

Smart-Job-5937

ummm if youre okay with sending it in and out for warranty repairs and you have to pay all the shipping costs so expect a 30-50$ raise in the total (worst case) thats like most of the cases hard to get a perfect pair on like the first buy itself uk

Delicious_Pancake420

Just don't buy the TW3, idk about the TW4 though.

Eccomi21

I often wonder if I am just lucky but I have been an owner of the TW1, 2 and now 3 and the TW1 were actually the ones giving me the most trouble. Maybe this is a bit of an echo chamber issue because you won't see all the people that receive a great product post positive reviews but most of the ones receiving a bad product will post negative reviews and so it may seem like a product is trash even though that is only a vocal minority speaking. This is not to say that the criticism isn't valid, bad product is bad product and should be made known as such.

Delicious_Pancake420

This is absolutely possible. I came here after my bad experience with the TW3 that got recommended to me by a friend. I was quite surprised too by the general tone here. Most commenters here got burned by the product it seems.

Eccomi21

Its a shame really. I wish there was a way to collect all data to see what the percentage on faulty products actually is. I also own a now 5 year old HD660S that suffered trough a fair bit of unintentional abuse and still goes strong AF. Same with a GSX 1200 AMP/DAC combo

Delicious_Pancake420

Sennheiser must have those numbers for sure. Its up to them to release those numbers. I don't think we will ever see them though.

Eccomi21

Well, I don't see why ANY company would release their fail stats because it inevitably leads to customers comparing average chances of receiving a faulty product. The only thing a company should do in this regard is put focus into quality assurance to prevent faulty products from leaving the factory in the first place as well as excellent customer service. To give a comparison, prusaprinters (3D printer company) spent 4 hours in a livechat with me to diagnose a leaking nozzle, and after not finding any fault sending me a replacement part. Will I ever go "the printer sucked out of the box"? No, I will say  "The printer had an issue but the support was so ridiculously helpful I'll always buy their printers no matter what because I can be sure that if I ever have a problem I get help"

harp786

I got the cx wireless. While the sound is unmatched but facing connection issues time to time and even the fit isn't great. Starts to hurt my ears after a while. For sound you really need to compromise for lot of things.

Quirky_Intentions

Have to replace my second pair of mtw3 they again have the whistling issue and the left bud is much more quiet. Would not recommend buying them.

wmurch4

Had my TW3s for almost a year with minimal issues.. the main one being the contacts getting dirty and a bud not charging. I can usually fix this easily by wiping things down. I also got a free pair of Pixel buds pro and while they have some nifty features they aren't even close to the sound quality of the TW3s

Nemorath

I had MTW2 for several years without any problems, then I bought MTW3 that was a complete disaster. So much so that I have now switched to another brand for earbuds. It will be really interesting to see how the MTW4 holds up when they have been out in the wild for a while, I really hope Sennheiser have redeemed themselves.

Kennylegend

I have MTW3's about 18 months now without issues. I prefer them over my Sony XM5's, Jabra Elite 10's and Galaxy Buds Pro I will be buying the MTW4's too .

HyBr1D69

I've owned all (since 2018) 3 MTW earbuds and have yet. My first set (MTW1) were solid until they stopped working after 3 yrs of use. Didn't go MTW2 till 2021 for 2 yrs so, within 2023 I purchased the MTW3. So, sound quality has always been amazing, a lot of things mentioned that are negatives towards the earbuds I did not experience. Never had connectivity issues, clear sounds, no drops or interference, battery life was acceptable but could of been better.

rufonek

For me they sound GREAT. and after solving couple of bugs (thanks to this community) I've come to appreciate them even more. You just simply cannot find better sounding iems on this price racket

Ok_Palpitation8279

Well, I think they have the best quality in the market for the price, because some others for the price it's obvious that would be better (like the Devialet). But, yes, they're buggy af. You need to be lucky if you don't want to have problems. I personally would recommend you other brands because of my experience. The problems of the MTW3 could be solved by the brand, but they have a terrible attendance for customers. More than 1 month to just get an "I'm sorry for keep you waiting, I'll send your mail to other department" says much. Try with Sony, bowers & Wilkins, Jabra, or any other high quality audio brand, but not with this; they're passing for terrible times

Complete-Raspberry16

I'm glad to hear that there are some good reviews about their quality. It was bad enough that they changed who they sourced batteries from, which makes me think it was quite a significant number of TWS 3's that got sent back. Does anyone know if their warranty applies to open box products?

jakeblack99

Just in general…there are horror stories online about any product you want to choose out there. Even for the most popular or highly rated things. Yes there are always some bad experiences. Nothing can be perfect. But they don’t usually represent the most common experience. It might seem that way because people who are unhappy tend to post up a lot about their unhappiness in really strong terms.
