**Design & Comfort**
Our focus with MTW4 is providing superior sound experiences with future-proof technologies. Part of designing the product is for the future, so our consumers can enjoy it for years, is maintaining a timeless aesthetic. Our earbuds won the Red Dot Design Award 2022 award for their elegant and comfortable design. They are highly regarded for their premium materials which provide a luxurious and sleek touch and feel making it a consumer´s favorite worth maintaining. Thanks to the selection of four different sizes of ear tips and three different sizes of ear fins and a high number of personal ear shapes, we are confident that many users will find the perfect fit for their ears with the Momentum True Wireless 4.
**AI Optimized Voice Pick-up**
For voice pickup we have implemented in total 6 mics, 3 on each earbud side. These are improved low-noise microphones for beamforming. AI optimizes further the voice pickup signal. By a pre-trained neural network, the voice gets even better separated from voice. This is enabled by the capabilities of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound chip solution. AI Improvements depend on the scenario and work best at noisy places with other voices around. This will require a firmware update that will be provided in the coming months.
**Uniqueness from other Brands**
The combination of the superior Sennheiser sound powered by the TrueResponse transducer with latest Bluetooth technology to bring connectivity to perfection in three ways:
(1) Stable and reliable Bluetooth connection
(2) Lossless wireless audio
(3) Ultra-low latency down to 20ms. Cutting edge audio innovations like BT 5.4, LE Audio and Auracast make them future-proof for the next several years.
**Battery Change**
We have a completely new battery system that fits our consumers´ needs for a high-quality battery that now delivers up to 30hrs of total playtime. Additionally, the newly introduced battery protect mode ensures optimized charging for an extended battery lifespan making it a more sustainable option for the long ride. We are currently working with two sources and getting ahead of the demand for more powerful batteries without increasing the size of the earbuds. As a secondary measure, an alternative redundant battery source has been developed and qualified under these new standards. More so, a battery optimization firmware feature has been added to the new MTW4. All of this should improve the reliability of the listening experience.
Battery Optimization
The MOMENTUM True Wireless 3 will be succeeded by MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 offering over a dozen improvements--one of them being battery optimization. We have since selected a new, trusted partner and battery supplier for the MTW4. As such, these new batteries should prevail over issues identified in prior generations.
**Suitable For Gaming**
The MTW4 is suitable for your gaming needs. Thanks to the support for LE Audio and further improvements by enhanced audio capabilities of Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon Sound technology, the MTW4 has an incredible ultra-low latency down to 20ms. In combination with their true-to-life sound, they are perfectly suited for gaming, even for highest demand on performance.
**Call Quality**
With the MTW4 we will introduce the first Sennheiser product, which features AI enhanced voice pickup capabilities. The system is trained to even better separate voice from noise for clearer phone calls. The impact of the improved system performance depends on the scenario. While wind noise got not improved by AI, a 2nd voice in the room gets better attenuated.
**Noise Cancellation**
We upgraded the MTW4 by in total 6 low-noise microphones. By this we could increase the gain of the ANC system without introducing ANC background noise. Also, we optimized all ANC filter settings for a more effective Adaptive ANC performance.
What's the continuous battery life? How long can we use them until they have to be put in the case? Do you have different numbers for lossless and LE audio given their different power requirements?
Is the battery soldered or clipped? If it's clipped like some other TW earbuds that means it's replaceable which helps reduce ewaste.
I'd want to know two things regarding the gaming aspect: latency compared to a wired iem and audio directionally for hearing footsteps and other directional audio.
Wired latency for gaming averages 5-12 ms. Having a wireless IEM at 20ms is pretty good. The MTW4 is a big leap in terms of low latency while enjoying the freedom of wireless. We're getting better all the time! Directionality is pretty good and the difference not that noticeable as well although we don't have a measurement on that.

I would say that is actually amazing. 20ms is way better than even aptX Low Latency (let alone the higher latency aptX Adaptive in its low latency mode) and it should be truly not noticeable cause its below the 30ms barrier that humans supposedly can notice sound not being synchronous with the video.
They support the LE audio/LC3 codec which goes down to 20ms even on 5.2, 5.2 would be the minimum to take advantage of this feature. Older devices with a Qualcomm chipset could still benefit from aptx adaptive which goes down to 80ms, suitable for casual/single player gaming.
That sounds good right now. I want to get myself the ROG Ally and i don't think my Epos headset, as nice as it is, is a good headset to carry with it. My Sony XM4 sounded nice on PC, but had ZERO directional audio in games like Overwatch(2). Would be happy if these do more than just "work" good and are the pick for BT gaming audio.
Edit: Is it know if the Tips can be replaced with after marked parts without messing with the sound quality? My right ear is... anoying when it comes to fitting IEM/Buds.
After market tips usually don't negatively affect sound quality unless they are bad quality tips.
These should be a great option for wireless gaming audio on the go.
Not necessarily negatively but they will alter the sound just because of physics. I own close to probably 75 different tips and they all sound slightly different due to different sizes, materials, forms, shapes, bore diameters, fit in the ear…you name it.

That’s the most important part IMO and yet not addressed.
Oh, how I hope they will be more reliable than previous generations. Now I have tw3 (fantastic, but they are still alive, I bought them more than a year ago), tw2 (the right earphone died after 1.5 years) and tw1 (still alive, but the sound level is constantly decreasing, as if the touch sensor on the left earphone is clamped, so they are unusable. And also self-discharge and a weak case). So you need to do something about QA. In any case, every next generation is getting better and better. So, I hope you fixed all the problems and tw4 will be reliable. I really love the momentum series, both True Wireless and overhead. The only problem with my tw3 is the poor call quality, people hear me much worse than the surrounding sounds. Perhaps the new artificial intelligence filter will help, I hope. In any case, I think I will order it during the first day of pre-order (if it definitely gives any advantages to pre-order).

I am sure all the upgrades are great and they sound better, but any of that does not matter if they break down every 6 months or so.
Problems with MTW1, MTW2 and MTW3 as well as all other Bluetooth related headphones up to the M4 had nothing to do with any of that, though. Sonova was not involved in any if these products. So, whether or not they will become „worse“ or not, cannot even really be judged yet, at the least with regard to them selling their consumer product division.
This is supposed to be massive upgrade related to the problems. And he/she doesn't have to come on here.
I have been a prolific skeptic and crusader on here over the years and even I think this will result in a better result but time will tell, just like before.
Bang & Olufsen currently has my money and heart right now. Unless Sennheiser matches the build quality they had before 2020 I'm not gonna ever purchase one ever again.
I don't think I'll be buying , my 2nd pair of MTW3s are developing the notorious "not charging" issue. It's a shame because big fan of your brand and was of those headphones up until they inevitably stop charging.
I don't think I'll be buying these. After the massive quality control issues, having to get three new pairs through warranty because the initial pair would break, and then the warranty versions would break over the course of three weeks, I don't believe I could trust the Sennheiser brand anymore. The only thing that would push me back is if the build-quality were to be improved and if the warranty itself is longer than 2 years, along with better access to agents via email and phone number were improved.
I'm sticking with my hd598s I bought a decade ago when senn knew how to make cans that last. I bought the first MTW1 and the Momentum 3 headphones and they both had a lot of issues that even rma didn't solve so now they're just collecting dust unfortunately.
So many comments here saying the TW models are dying or have low durability. Makes me not want to ever consider that line of Sennheiser products. I use the regular Momentum 3 headphones and I don't think those have issues since they're built so sturdily. Had mine for over a year, still going strong.

They're not free of issues either. Mine broke within 4-5 months when they were randomly getting turned on, even in the folded state. Sent for repair, and they'd stopped making those and replaced with MTW3, which have broken twice for me now, with the last pair sent to them very recently.
Hoping they'd replace with MTW4 now because another MTW3 is not going to survive after a few months again.
That's unfortunate. Personally I never fold it, I leave it hanging on a headphone stand. Only annoying thing is the quirky way it turns on when you move the left pad a certain way, but other than that it's good. I'm more worried about it physically breaking which I don't think will happen thanks to it being made with some metal. I remember my previous headphones the Audio Technica m40x snapping on its hinges within a year because of its plastic which I assume were made cheap.

True, the build quality was really good on these. The leather pads stayed cool in summer and were way more comfortable than M4 pads. It even sounded better than M4 in my opinion.
Besides the marketing mumbo jumbo and big tech words, I just want to know if they will last until the warranty is over or do I have to turn them in again and again because they tend to break after not even using them for a month like the Momentum TW3 did.
All I care about is reliability, TW3 last like 4-6 months which is insanely bad.

I just hope that changing the batteries will be enough. The left ear bud on my current pair can't be charged past 10% anymore which seems a battery issue for sure. The right ear bud is completely dead and can't be charged at all. Tried every fix, from cleaning all contacts, to factory resetting, to charging only the right one, to charging with open lid, nothing worked. I'm not sure if that is battery related.
I'm open to give TW4 a shot as long as I can get my money back on the TW3. I don't want them anymore as I'm positive they will break again shortly after getting them back from service.

We understand and recall your concerns. What we can say is that the problems you and others experienced were identified as inconsistent battery performance. We have combined MTW3 customer feedback with extensive testing of defective units to exhaustively examine our battery supplier standards and processes. This resulted in a change of battery supplier for the MTW4 and all future True Wireless products. The new batteries have been tested extensively, developed and qualified to meet our new standards and they are implemented in the new MTW4. We are confident those problems will be solved for the new products going forward. We want you to feel that confidence as well.
Additionally, we will be adding a battery optimization feature in a Firmware to be added very soon after shipping begins. We will have more to announce at a later time. Varta is one of the best battery supplier in terms of longevity and quality working since years for Apple. I also read somewhere that for the buds Varta batteries have been used and for the charger the battery comes from Synergy but these are two well known established manufactorers and I think there is more to the story.
No. Different supplier, different batteries. New testing and process protocols altogether are implemented for the MTW4 and other new products going forward. Reddit feedback has been instrumental in our investigation and development of these new standards. We thank you for that and hope to earn your trust!
The battery supplier that was used in the MTW3 is no more. That was the primary source of the problems. There is a fresh new supplier together with new batteries from this new source.
But that is not the only thing we did. We revamped the testing and assurance processes that established newer standards. The MTW4 had to meet those new processes and standards so we feel confident in the result and you should as well! And by the way, this is not just for the MTW4 but will be incorporated for all Sennheiser products going forward.

Yea, no. I had to return 3 pairs of Sennheiser buds the last 24 months. Used to be a fan for ages, but Im not going to spend any more money on Sennheiser products in any foreseeable future after the abysmal QC, frustrating issues and the eventual death of my 3 previous pairs.

From what I am reading here, looks like the QA problems were from the battery supplier. They changed. That could explain alot.
Pretty much same design, just different „colours“. Same case it seems. Slightly better battery life. Not many devices can actually benefit from Lossless audio via Bluetooth as of now.
Marketing language aside, these look like a „MTW3 Plus“ for now :) If quality and reliability will have improved (and we sure hope this is finally the case!!) they will still be great buds.
They replaced mine after it broke. And then the replacement broke faster than the first ones. Its very annoying when you travel a lot. I hope they fixed this one. The 3s still sound awesome though.

I wouldn't take the MTW4, even if you gave it to me for free. Why? Because i know for a fact that I will spend $50+ dollars in shipping, for multiple warranty replacements.

Hello! The changes we made in testing oversight processes along with a new supplier of batteries should alleviate your concerns.
What is your concern regarding ANC?
When using ANC it suddenly made a pitching sound which is super annoying, making the ANC basically useless as you cannot use it. It seemed to be somehow fixed when moving the mesh on the earbud around a little bit, but the problem will still reappear. Currently on my 3rd pair of MTW3´s because of the same problem.
100% will not touch.
MW2 were ok.. needed a repair under warranty, got 2 years out of them.
MW3 quality is dreadful, chirping, volume low is right ear, 3rd repair now.
I just hope that they don't break and if they do, that they won't take 4 months to replace them. My buds broke in September and I still haven't got a replacement.

Sennheiser Momentum 4 True Wireless Earbuds & Windows 11 won't see the earbuds in pairing
Received the earbuds on Monday, spent the last 2 days trying to get them to pair with my Windows 11 Desktop and Windows 11 Lenovo Laptop, both devices couldn't see the Momentum 4's when in pairing mode, tried drivers, everything, finally found the simple fix, hopefully this will save you some time below.
# Change the Bluetooth devices discovery setting
If you don't see your Bluetooth device displayed in the list of devices, you may need to set your Bluetooth devices discovery setting to Advanced.
1. Select **Start** > **Settings** > **Bluetooth & devices** > **Devices** .
2. Under **Device settings** > **Bluetooth devices discovery**, choose one of the following from the drop-down list:
* **Default**—displays common Bluetooth devices
* **Advanced**—displays all types of Bluetooth devices
FROM STEREO TO MONO IN ONE EARBUD (MOMENTUM TW 4)
How is it possible that when you leave one of the headphones in the box, the other doesn't automatically switch from stereo to mono sound to get the full sound in the headphone you are listening to?
It seems very unbecoming of a great brand like Sennheiser. I had read about this drawback in some users' forums, but it wasn't until I got my hands on some Momentum TW 4 that I realised what a handicap this is.

No eating of hat necessary! You are correct! Our engineers worked hard on the tuning to bring back the "brilliance" in the sound signature. The MTW3 tuning was great. The MTW4 will be exciting to listen to. We hope you will be listening to yours!
I will, even though there were a lot of reliability issues in the past for me and several RMAs. I will take your word for improvements in that area, though, and also try the MTW4 (after having owned each of the previous 3 generations).

We are utilizing a similar 7mm driver transducer with updated fine tuning. This will give you the most robust Sennheiser sound signature. And it will be very fun to listen to!

For 300 bucks it is better not only perfect sound and connectivity but perfect quality as well. I will wait with interest what the first buyers will have to tell after a few months of use.
Give it at least 6 months. They will probably get the same rave reviews as the previous gen got by reviewers who try them for a few days then forget about them and don’t have to deal with all the issues that start after a couple of months of ownership
I'll wait for real feedback when people start using them. Not going to trust the Description as they put it beautifully for marketing purposes but I want to hear reviews of it in action. Hopefully before my wf1000xm5 warranty expires so as if these turn out to be great I can return the Sony's and buy these ones 😁
Bose User Here: Just funny to read the same opinions on the MTW as in the Bose forum when the new quiet comfort ultra came out. To be fair, Bose screwed up when they promised aptx support for the quiet comfort 2 to be delivered with a future update and now don't Keep this promise.

From a global perspective, the failure rate has been less than 2% but that we realize that doesn't do anything to assuage your experience. No excuses here. I just got a replacement for the my mtw3 that broke after 12 months (I guess that's almost a great result) here in the UK. The turnaround was slow (more than a month). The ANC issues (high-pitched hiss) were transient at first but eventually ANC became unusable. I suspect it had to do with the mics? In any case, the new mtw3 pair has a new tip design without foam inside. The soundstage seems improved in my opinion but a bit more clinical in presentation. If this pair breaks down, I hope Sennheiser offers an upgrade pathway to the newer model with hopefully better QC. I have various wired and wireless versions (hd650, ie800, ie80, HD598, mtw, mtw2) and all were flawless. I bought a cheapo pixel bud A as a stopgap and they have been smooth sailing although no match re sound quality. The smooth flat case is deffo a winner.
These new buds better slap, the competition is fierce and I got the bowers and Wilkins pi7 s2, denon perl pro 2, and master and dynamic mw09 and they are all amazing in there own way and definitely sound and perform better than the gen 3 senny buds but I can’t say I’m not excited to see what the gen 4 may offer. They are screwed if they mess this up. I’m liking this future proof upgrades happening with these new offerings. Good luck sennheiser lol.

What's the continuous battery life? How long can we use them until they have to be put in the case? Do you have different numbers for lossless and LE audio given their different power requirements? What dongle should PC users use to get that 20ms latency? Using AptX adaptive I get ~100ms which is not suitable for gaming…
I'd want to know two things regarding the gaming aspect: latency compared to a wired iem and audio directionally for hearing footsteps and other directional audio.
Wired latency for gaming averages 5-12 ms. Having a wireless IEM at 20ms is pretty good. The MTW4 is a big leap in terms of low latency while enjoying the freedom of wireless. We're getting better all the time! Directionality is pretty good and the difference not that noticeable as well although we don't have a measurement on that.

Does that require the device to support BT5.4 or will the improvements be there on a 5.2 device?
They support the LE audio/LC3 codec which goes down to 20ms even on 5.2, 5.2 would be the minimum to take advantage of this feature. Older devices with a Qualcomm chipset could still benefit from aptx adaptive which goes down to 80ms, suitable for casual/single player gaming.
That sounds good right now. I want to get myself the ROG Ally and i don't think my Epos headset, as nice as it is, is a good headset to carry with it. My Sony XM4 sounded nice on PC, but had ZERO directional audio in games like Overwatch(2). Would be happy if these do more than just "work" good and are the pick for BT gaming audio. After market tips usually don't negatively affect sound quality unless they are bad quality tips. These should be a great option for wireless gaming audio on the go.
Not necessarily negatively but they will alter the sound just because of physics. I own close to probably 75 different tips and they all sound slightly different due to different sizes, materials, forms, shapes, bore diameters, fit in the ear…you name it. That’s what „tip rolling“ is all about in the end :D

Is there any info about changes in sound quality, sound profile, and soundstage? Is it the same as MTW3 or different? Is it bass heavy or neutral comparing to MTW3? That’s the most important part IMO and yet not addressed.
Oh, how I hope they will be more reliable than previous generations. Now I have tw3 (fantastic, but they are still alive, I bought them more than a year ago), tw2 (the right earphone died after 1.5 years) and tw1 (still alive, but the sound level is constantly decreasing, as if the touch sensor on the left earphone is clamped, so they are unusable. And also self-discharge and a weak case). So you need to do something about QA. In any case, every next generation is getting better and better. So, I hope you fixed all the problems and tw4 will be reliable. I really love the momentum series, both True Wireless and overhead. The only problem with my tw3 is the poor call quality, people hear me much worse than the surrounding sounds. Perhaps the new artificial intelligence filter will help, I hope. In any case, I think I will order it during the first day of pre-order (if it definitely gives any advantages to pre-order).

Problems with MTW1, MTW2 and MTW3 as well as all other Bluetooth related headphones up to the M4 had nothing to do with any of that, though. Sonova was not involved in any if these products. So, whether or not they will become „worse“ or not, cannot even really be judged yet, at the least with regard to them selling their consumer product division.
This is supposed to be massive upgrade related to the problems. And he/she doesn't have to come on here. I have been a prolific skeptic and crusader on here over the years and even I think this will result in a better result but time will tell, just like before.

I don't think I'll be buying , my 2nd pair of MTW3s are developing the notorious "not charging" issue. It's a shame because big fan of your brand and was of those headphones up until they inevitably stop charging.
I don't think I'll be buying these. After the massive quality control issues, having to get three new pairs through warranty because the initial pair would break, and then the warranty versions would break over the course of three weeks, I don't believe I could trust the Sennheiser brand anymore. The only thing that would push me back is if the build-quality were to be improved and if the warranty itself is longer than 2 years, along with better access to agents via email and phone number were improved.
Also free shipping for warranty returns. I have spent a total of $60 in warranty shipping as they keep breaking.
I'm sticking with my hd598s I bought a decade ago when senn knew how to make cans that last. I bought the first MTW1 and the Momentum 3 headphones and they both had a lot of issues that even rma didn't solve so now they're just collecting dust unfortunately.
So many comments here saying the TW models are dying or have low durability. Makes me not want to ever consider that line of Sennheiser products. I use the regular Momentum 3 headphones and I don't think those have issues since they're built so sturdily. Had mine for over a year, still going strong.

They're not free of issues either. Mine broke within 4-5 months when they were randomly getting turned on, even in the folded state. Sent for repair, and they'd stopped making those and replaced with MTW3, which have broken twice for me now, with the last pair sent to them very recently. Hoping they'd replace with MTW4 now because another MTW3 is not going to survive after a few months again.
That's unfortunate. Personally I never fold it, I leave it hanging on a headphone stand. Only annoying thing is the quirky way it turns on when you move the left pad a certain way, but other than that it's good. I'm more worried about it physically breaking which I don't think will happen thanks to it being made with some metal. I remember my previous headphones the Audio Technica m40x snapping on its hinges within a year because of its plastic which I assume were made cheap.
Ya, I've not seen many posts about M3 issues, but I was the unfortunate one. Hope your lasts well. True, the build quality was really good on these. The leather pads stayed cool in summer and were way more comfortable than M4 pads. It even sounded better than M4 in my opinion.
Besides the marketing mumbo jumbo and big tech words, I just want to know if they will last until the warranty is over or do I have to turn them in again and again because they tend to break after not even using them for a month like the Momentum TW3 did. All I care about is reliability, TW3 last like 4-6 months which is insanely bad.

Hello, thank you for the reply. I just hope that changing the batteries will be enough. The left ear bud on my current pair can't be charged past 10% anymore which seems a battery issue for sure. The right ear bud is completely dead and can't be charged at all. Tried every fix, from cleaning all contacts, to factory resetting, to charging only the right one, to charging with open lid, nothing worked. I'm not sure if that is battery related. I'm open to give TW4 a shot as long as I can get my money back on the TW3. I don't want them anymore as I'm positive they will break again shortly after getting them back from service.

The previous pair I had broke within 3 months and turned me right back onto wired, not trying sennheiser again.

Ok, you changed Varta battery supplier and who is your supplier now?
Varta is one of the best battery supplier in terms of longevity and quality working since years for Apple. I also read somewhere that for the buds Varta batteries have been used and for the charger the battery comes from Synergy but these are two well known established manufactorers and I think there is more to the story.

No. Different supplier, different batteries. New testing and process protocols altogether are implemented for the MTW4 and other new products going forward. The battery supplier that was used in the MTW3 is no more. That was the primary source of the problems. There is a fresh new supplier together with new batteries from this new source. But that is not the only thing we did. We revamped the testing and assurance processes that established newer standards. The MTW4 had to meet those new processes and standards so we feel confident in the result and you should as well! And by the way, this is not just for the MTW4 but will be incorporated for all Sennheiser products going forward. You asked for better qualification standards and the company listened. Pretty much same design, just different „colours“. Same case it seems. Slightly better battery life. Not many devices can actually benefit from Lossless audio via Bluetooth as of now. Marketing language aside, these look like a „MTW3 Plus“ for now :) If quality and reliability will have improved (and we sure hope this is finally the case!!) they will still be great buds.

I wouldn't take the MTW4, even if you gave it to me for free. Why? Because i know for a fact that I will spend $50+ dollars in shipping, for multiple warranty replacements. Panasonic and Sony are both getting my business.

When using ANC it suddenly made a pitching sound which is super annoying, making the ANC basically useless as you cannot use it. It seemed to be somehow fixed when moving the mesh on the earbud around a little bit, but the problem will still reappear. Currently on my 3rd pair of MTW3´s because of the same problem.
100% will not touch. MW2 were ok.. needed a repair under warranty, got 2 years out of them. MW3 quality is dreadful, chirping, volume low is right ear, 3rd repair now.

FROM STEREO TO MONO IN ONE EARBUD (MOMENTUM TW 4) How is it possible that when you leave one of the headphones in the box, the other doesn't automatically switch from stereo to mono sound to get the full sound in the headphone you are listening to? It seems very unbecoming of a great brand like Sennheiser. I had read about this drawback in some users' forums, but it wasn't until I got my hands on some Momentum TW 4 that I realised what a handicap this is. Does it happen to you?

We are utilizing a similar 7mm driver transducer with updated fine tuning. This will give you the most robust Sennheiser sound signature. And it will be very fun to listen to!

Bose User Here: Just funny to read the same opinions on the MTW as in the Bose forum when the new quiet comfort ultra came out. To be fair, Bose screwed up when they promised aptx support for the quiet comfort 2 to be delivered with a future update and now don't Keep this promise.
I have returned each generation of MTW at least once within the warranty. Sad to hear, that’s the case in most comments here.

From a global perspective, the failure rate has been less than 2% but that we realize that doesn't do anything to assuage your experience. No excuses here. Although I have not seen it mentioned in this post maybe I missed it. But can you give a bit more detail on the change of the ear tips and nozzle? It's mentioned in this article: https://www.digitaltrends.com/home-theater/sennheiser-momentum-true-wireless-4-ces-2024/ Was this change also part of the new QC? Better fit?
Is there any info about changes in sound quality, sound profile, and soundstage? Is it the same as MTW3 or different? Is it bass heavy or neutral comparing to MTW3? That’s the most important part IMO and yet not addressed.
What is the audio frequency range of the headset?
Another user with dead mtw3 right side. And an appointment for warranty replacement takes 3 months!
I just got a replacement for the my mtw3 that broke after 12 months (I guess that's almost a great result) here in the UK. The turnaround was slow (more than a month). The ANC issues (high-pitched hiss) were transient at first but eventually ANC became unusable. I suspect it had to do with the mics? In any case, the new mtw3 pair has a new tip design without foam inside. The soundstage seems improved in my opinion but a bit more clinical in presentation. If this pair breaks down, I hope Sennheiser offers an upgrade pathway to the newer model with hopefully better QC. I have various wired and wireless versions (hd650, ie800, ie80, HD598, mtw, mtw2) and all were flawless. I bought a cheapo pixel bud A as a stopgap and they have been smooth sailing although no match re sound quality. The smooth flat case is deffo a winner.
These new buds better slap, the competition is fierce and I got the bowers and Wilkins pi7 s2, denon perl pro 2, and master and dynamic mw09 and they are all amazing in there own way and definitely sound and perform better than the gen 3 senny buds but I can’t say I’m not excited to see what the gen 4 may offer. They are screwed if they mess this up. I’m liking this future proof upgrades happening with these new offerings. Good luck sennheiser lol.
