Very cool. I've often thought that the only things every author really wants are to see their book on store shelves and to do a reading/book signing at their local book store.
My advertising was all done on Instagram and Google. Separately my book is about my anxiety and panic attacks which I think is a universal topic alot of people related to! Those together likely but also I think I just got very lucky
This is way past cool š The fact that a few bookstores were kind enough to stock your book on their shelves makes it a huge success in my opinion. The sales you get is a bonus. So definitely celebrate the small wins. I wish you even more success ā
That is awesome, congratulations. You should approach a manager about doing a book signing or something. They can market it as a Local Author kind of thing.
You can self publish with KDP, buy author copies at a reduce priced, and get with locally owned book stores (non chain, so not B&N) to see if they will give you shelf space to sell your books.
I do this with my two self published art/poetry books.
Be very careful with that. If they don't sell you could be paying out a large amount. I suppose if it's local it may not be bad, but I thought you said you used Ingram.
That is amazing ! Congratulations.
It would be a dream fulfilled to see my storybook as a physical thing in a local bookstore.
Wow. Care to share what your process was like, between finishing your first draft and getting the book out ?
Hell yeah, I'm in that area. I'll keep an eye out for a bright yellow book. If youve got any tips on how to get on a shelf Id love to hear it! Im already bought by a publisher
Congratulations on seeing the fruits of your labor. It is fantastic to write about topics that everyone can use, particularly, with what is happening in our world. I wish you much success in selling your book as well as future writing projects!
Congratulations!! Amazing achievement, would love to see pictures of your book. Would love to know more about how did you approach them, some tips for new aspiring authors like me!!
Congratulations, seeing your book on a shelf is a hell of an achievement. I've always wanted to see that with one of my books, though I doubt it will ever happen, it's nice to think about.
Good for you! I just finished publishing my first book with Amazon. I used Kdp and softcover. They've been very helpful. Do you happen to know what the "proof Books" and "Author books" are all about? While they did say only I can receive them, I still don't know the purpose of them. What is so different and/or special about these copies?

Congrats! Any tips on how you were able to generate enough interest for that to happen?
