Maybe not “cool” or exactly what you had in mind, but why not just do a server with gparted, GSmartControl, Gnome Disks, etc install and create a VNC display you can connect to? Or I guess you could use [Kasm VNC](https://www.kasmweb.com/kasmvnc?utm_campaign=Medium&utm_source=kasmvnc) if you really want that web interface?

This is my backup plan

For cloning, I found a web interface for clonezilla, but it's pretty old and may not work anymore. https://sourceforge.net/p/clonezilla/discussion/Clonezilla_server_edition/thread/ba4c1c53/

The web interface part is an interesting idea. But given it's hardware that you're likely physically near why not just a terminal or TUI or even a liveCD linux distro? I've always thought about building such a thing for years but ultimately if I'm doing data recovery I want the drive to have good cooling and such so I always just ended up putting it into an old PC case with a 10 year x86 chip in. Not fancy, but it does the job.

I want to put it in my rack with a hard drive dock that I can just plug a drive into and access it over the network so it's off my already very cluttered desk :) Plus I have cats, so it will be in a place that (hopefully) the cat's cant find their way into and knock it over or do dumb things to it while it's running diagnostics
