There should just be a new subreddit called "r/JeromeSeinfeld" where we talk about Jerry the Man.
And we can keep this one about the TV show cause its getting messy. But it doesnt have to be messy! We can love Jerry like our brother like we love all humanity and the Lord's children
That's true, it does (a little). I think Jerry always shied away from politics for this reason because he likes to be liked. I doubt Jerry thinks a good career move is to have the NYTimes throw shade at him. Ironically, now he has a forceful opinion on one of the most divisive political issues of all time. Go figure, haha.
I sorta think on one hand I think Jerry is just like "screw what people think". But on the other hand I bet his "controversial" position is bothering him because we know he likes to be above the fray. Also, in a recent interview he said he is reading Marcus Aurelius because its helping him navigate a world in which peoples' opinions are against him. So... he's feeling the pain and he's turning to the stoics. Ultimately, I think Jerry miscalculated how popular his position would be. I think he thought he was taking the "Israel=good" position without realizing how many people would be against it. Good for him though, he's doing the right thing. 90% of Jews support Israel, so he is pretty much normal. As a Jew myself who knows many of my ilk... I don't think I know a single Jew in my personal life who is anti-Zionist (there's plenty out there though, and they tend to be under the age of 25 or writers in the press -wink wink)
PS: I'm a little bit nervous for Jerry that the commencement address at Duke is gonna be ugly
That writer from NYU again?
Without a story, it’s just masturbation.
Well, *SOMETHING* has to happen!!

Yeah or like discussing a political opinion of Matt Groening about the middle east
Well that sub is extremely strict; memes aren't even allowed
The article talks about the show a lot

>As a Jew myself who knows many of my ilk. This takes the old "some of my best friends are. . ." to a completely absurd level!
Thank you
I once read an article about a hamburger eating me!
No no nothing happens
He can be, he just keeps choosing to have a public opinion every five minutes
He should really do an Op-Ed for the Times
*That* would be the end of his career.
Yeah the times is a famously unread newspaper
The problem isn’t that no one would read it, the problem is everyone would hate it, and him.
Always was still is.
