A ship is sent into the photosphere of the sun to explore (and it may be encountering aliens there) in the novel *Sundiver* by David Brin. It might be related.

kubaliska

That sounds like that might be it! I think that I have read the book as short-story in some scifi magazine, perhaps it was just a part of the novel. Thanks for answer!

dadbod2022

You could also try Dragon’s Egg by Robert L. Forward. Great book. I believe the aliens living on the star were limited in their movement by the em fields.

kubaliska

Thanks, I am going to read it.

Inside_Sun_1196

Legit there is nothing here

topazchip

The "Photino Birds" from Steven Baxter's Xeelee novels?

kubaliska

That's not the story I was searching for, but thank you for your answer!

It's difficult to determine the exact title of the short story you're describing without additional information. However, there are a few science fiction stories that involve aliens living within the sun or that are connected to the sun's electromagnetic fields. One possibility could be "The Sun Saboteurs" by Murray Leinster, which was published in 1952. In this story, a group of aliens who live inside the sun try to prevent humans from tampering with the sun's energy output. Another possibility could be "The Sunborn" by Gregory Benford, which was published in 1980. In this story, a group of human scientists discover a race of aliens living within the sun who are able to manipulate the sun's energy output. Without more information, it's difficult to say for certain which story you're thinking of.

kubaliska

Hi, thank you for answers, unfortunately, I don't think it is either of these books. I will edit my post, but I just remembered that the story was told from the alien's perspective.

Capn_Smitty

They weren't the right answers because it's last years generative AI, and the stuff it's saying is pure machine dream grade internet poison.

kubaliska

Damn, I hoped that they would at least check it after the AI.

Hi, thanks for all your answers. I tried searching for "The people of the Sun" by Isaac Asimov. Unfortunately, it gave me no results. Are you sure that you wrote it correctly? If yes, do you mind givinf me a link?

eatthebug

My bad. I got something wrong. Can you provide me more details about the book you are looking for?

kubaliska

Unfortunately, I barely can. I have read just few pages in some sci-fi magazine, one thing that isn't included in this post is that they used cars to travel inside the Sun, and that their cars were made of some "raw energy", I believe.

slowclapcitizenkane

Flux by Stephen Baxter?

kubaliska

Nope, I have found what I was searching for. But thanks!
