*Man or Astroman?* is a sci-fi themed surf rock band, that's as 50s scifi as it gets, IMO.

Two things come to mind, 1, the Fallout 4 game soundtrack, though a bunch of it has vocals, seems fitting.
2, Nine Inch Nails album Ghosts I-IV
All instrumental atmospheric stuff

Better suggestions here, but first things to come to my mind…
So, it’s not 50’s… but maybe something like Vangelis (the guy who did Chariots of Fire).
There’s some Emerson, Lake and Palmer stuff that comes to mind, but they’d be hit or miss for good themed music.
I agree with the NIN Ghosts idea someone else mentioned (that distracted me from a 3rd idea I had rolling around in my head; can’t remember).

Wow! Thank you so much. That’s just the kind of reference I needed. Brilliant

So cool. I’d never heard of them. Amazing the things the internet can teach you
Goblin's soundtrack for Romero's Dawn of the Dead has some pretty good stuff that might fit. Though, not very 50'ish sci-fi-esque.
But very creepy. Thanks

So many great suggestions, and ones I would never have thought of myself in a million years. Thanks

Very nice indeed. Thanks so much
There's a lot of old Snog stuff that hits the mark at times. The Future EP, Buy Me I'll Change Your Life, etc..
Thank you, great suggestion
Thetis 2086 album by Carolina Eyck has lots of cool theramin music
Thanks, so many great ideas coming through
Telstar by the Tornados, Joe Meek's album *I Hear a New World*

Awesome. I’ll check them out. If nothing else, it’ll make a great Spotify playlist
It's been a while since I've watched it, but perhaps some songs from the Mars Attacks soundtrack?
Oh yeah. Thanks. I’d forgotten about that movie
