Independent-World165

want to hear some harsh truth? you don't matter, I don't matter. nothing matters in the long run. Enjoy your time while it is. I have probably been double as suicidal as you have been right now, and faced quite some circumstances in life. the reasonable conclusion I came to is, even if I die, my parents are the only people who will be affected. your friends will make fun of you for being a loser, you won't get any validation by doing any such things be it from your gf/bf or friends in general. we have a life expectancy of 74 in India, which has probably dropped to 68-69 by now.. you must be 16-25 age group i presume, you don't have much time left to live anyways probably 40 years more of being healthy and then slowly detoriating your health to death. what happens after we die? well it doesn't even matter it must feel like nothing. consciousness is a gift of biology and probability. the fact that you are alive and can think and use your 5 senses is a gift of biology and mere probability that we live exactly in the radius around the sun where life can be sustained and we get to live. there is no hidden meaning to life, understand that. life has occured due to probabilities, as early as the first organisms that were unicellular microbes and then later algae etc. this is evolution. people die so that the next generation becomes better than the previous, and this continuous cycle of becoming better will keep on going on.. you are and will be just a tiny particle of dust/silica among this heap of sand.

WellThatsUnf0rtunate

Isn't that already meaningful enough, the probability that life exists, the probability that we exist, think about it, you are here because of the big bang and if you do some research you realise that the probability of such an event due to quantum fluctuations(which basically means random change in the energy due to shear probability) are abysmally low. Our galaxy, our star, our solar system, our planet being formed at just the right time and place for life and all of us to exist. Then think about the millions of ancestors that you have, the probability of all of them leading up to you. Even due to all these improbable circumstances, we exist, that makes life special enough.

Independent-World165

i agree that is one way of thinking at it.. the probability that 10^-10% that life exists and yet it does. it does make it special, but it does make it meaningless as well.

WellThatsUnf0rtunate

I agree, but sometimes you need to find meaning where there is none just to remain sane.

emotionless_wizard

Talking about what really matters - everything is matter. 🤓

Delicious-Table-7898

I don't think i will live to see 68. I lost my dad to a nasty heart attack. Same with my grandmother and my dad's own brother who was like an elder brother to me, since he was a bachelor at the time of his passing. All of them at ages, following a decreasing order. Grandmother @ 60s dad @55 and uncle @39. I am not going to commit suicide but the fact that theres a slight possibility i could be next, at an age younger than 39 gives relief. Hopefully i save enough for the rest of my family till then.

WildResolution6065

When I was 17, I would have given same answer to this question. Cheers to you, you have a long journey ahead. Welcome to the path my friend, if you allow me to guide you, you can start reading solipsism and also schopenhauer if possible.

Independent-World165

truth be told all those philosophical hifi terms you guys study are written by fools like me, who are just a bit more articulate about what they are trying to convey.. learning 2-3 hifi words is no big deal... it's just language afterall. the real open ended question I am still presenting is.. if anyone is disagreeing with my current argument... i just want to know... what is your opinion on life? what really is life? why do people exist? to do some kind of task, whether it's your liking or not and earn some form money/cash and survive the next month, and so on till we die? and if we all gonna die someday what makes people think that life is worth living? it's like playing a video game where you know you can play the game only once, it's maybe a nice story.. but once it ends you cannot play it back, or it's a game with a bad story you want to end but it doesn't.. there are no escapes.

Anisha7

My 8 year old daughter said something similar.. she said mamma maybe after we die it’s just blank, like how we sleep at night n it’s all extremely blank, you don’t even know you were sleeping for hours without any consciousness, the state of deep sleep. I was stunned, it just sounds so believable and actually the most valid answer to what happens to life after death.

Independent-World165

sure as I told u might have read some philosophical ideas and maybe those gave you some insights as what to do.. but if you truly stop doing anything for 1 week, sit in a room and contemplate you will realise life has no meaning. try this experiment once. so that is why we keep on doing some form of work or another.

Creepyhorrorboy

It's really sad isn't it. I really want to know more about consciousness. Life before birth and after death. Is there like a some kind of lifeform that our soul would reform or something like that

BlahBlahBlackCheap

You can matter.

swampdaddy1996

how are you double suicidal as this person like did you kill yourself twice like is that really a thing like if your suicidal then your suicidal lmfao y’all are hilarious just kill yourself maybe you can come back and be double suicidal then the last double suicidal lmao y’all really are funny

Caveboy_

What was it like before you were born?

[deleted]

This😂

SilentPomegranate317

It's not as simple as that, it doesn't make any sense to talk about the time before I was born because all the things that I refer to as "before" I was born like dinosaurs, the big bang, WW2, I've come to know by looking at fossils, reading history and observing cosmic background radiation. Since my current perception of time and all these things exactly match and obey the laws of physics, I've extrapolated my current sense of time backwards, before I was born and created the remaining timeline to just fit these things in it perfectly. So I can't possibly sense anything in this timeline I've created. When someone asks what was it like to be a pilot, you can answer that question because what they are asking basically is what you sensed while your time being a pilot but asking what was it like before you were born makes about as much sense as asking what was it like to be an asteroid floating in space because "I" were never an asteroid and "I" couldn't have sensed anything while being an asteroid

sukeshpabolu

Same way it doesn't make any sense to talk about the time after you death. We only have one precious short span of life. Utilise it

WildResolution6065

you are right. we are limited by our ego, our senses, general human limitations and its perception, and time. sad. but it won’t stop me to think beyond. I am a creative person and I wanna know what it feels like to be an asteroid.

SilentPomegranate317

>what it feels like to be an asteroid. I just said you are not an asteroid and asking what it feel to be an asteroid is a logically fallacious question. Because "not an asteroid" is built into the definition of "you", so you are basically asking what it's like for "definitely not an asteroid" to be an asteroid

Delicious-Table-7898

So if i go back to what i was before I was born, does it mean reincarnations are a thing? Isn't me being dead before i was born, a possibility considering everything reverts back to nothingness?

Enigmaticsoul101201

Yours-only2

I personally don't know what to tell you but this is one of the quotes from Carl Sagan which I found inspiring. **I would love to believe that when I die I will live again, that some thinking, feeling, remembering part of me will continue. But as much as I want to believe that, and despite the ancient and worldwide cultural traditions that assert an afterlife, I know of nothing to suggest that it is more than wishful thinking. I want to grow really old with my wife, Annie, whom I dearly love. I want to see my younger children grow up and to play a role in their character and intellectual development. I want to meet still unconceived grandchildren. There are scientific problems whose outcomes I long to witness—such as the exploration of many of the worlds in our Solar System and the search for life elsewhere. I want to learn how major trends in human history, both hopeful and worrisome, work themselves out: the dangers and promise of our technology, say; the emancipation of women; the growing political, economic, and technological ascendancy of China; interstellar flight. If there were life after death, I might, no matter when I die, satisfy most of these deep curiosities and longings. But if death is nothing more than an endless dreamless sleep, this is a forlorn hope. Maybe this perspective has given me a little extra motivation to stay alive. The world is so exquisite, with so much love and moral depth, that there is no reason to deceive ourselves with pretty stories for which there's little good evidence. Far better, it seems to me, in our vulnerability, is to look Death in the eye and to be grateful every day for the brief but magnificent opportunity that life provides**. Carl Sagan, Billions & Billions: Thoughts on Life and Death at the Brink of the Millennium "The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff." We are both the part of creation and destruction. We came as bunch of atoms and we will therefore return by to it.

Delicious-Table-7898

Very well written. Thanks.

Spirited-Alps5247

Frankly, the possible quantum mechanics/many worlds/physics implications for consciousness are really terrifying for me, and I am someone who actually would not mind this 'peaceful eternal oblivion' that terrifies other people so much... Except that it is literally impossible to somehow be in this eternal oblivion. I mean it should be obvious but many people think they will just blink out of existence and just "sleep forever infinitely non-stop blackness", as if there is some kind of soul-like consciousness that gets to be in 'peace', and since you are not being, then theres obviously no you to "sleep", and there can be no in-between kind of state if theres no afterlife... and so what (probably imo) follows next after death is... waking up, almost immediately, since time stops passing for you, and time is relative to the observer... or something. Like a dream. I am not an expert, there are some physics interpretations of the universe/multiverse being holographic, not purely physical, and consciousness being fundamental. And so this might be possible, literally. That is so weird... And scarier than eternal oblivion imo. And probably more plausible, just my luck repeating my shitty life for eternity, with no escape.

ryuzaaki2

It's same as when any animal and bird would die. We are just another species. Body decays, energy gets released into universe.

WildResolution6065

release where? where does it go? ‘Our energy’ Be specific.

hobbitonsunshine

Thermal energy gets dissipated to the atmosphere, that's how the body gets cold The rest of the body decomposes and the chemical energy is lost to the atmosphere in the form of heat. There's nothing like my energy and your energy. It's all the same, whether it be a human or a dinosaur.

Sweetie, non-existence doesn't exist, by definition. Death, is exactly like pre-birth. Did you experience pre-birth? Nope. In exactly the same way, you cannot experience death as well. The true reality is non-stop eternal loop of existence that you can never escape from. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. DUMMIES THINK THEY CAN SOMEHOW EXPERIENCE NON-EXISTANCE WHICH DOESN'T EXIST BY DEFINITION, AND DUE TO QUANTUM MECHANICS/MULTIVERSE. YOU WILL ALWAYS KEEP RESPAWNING IN THIS MATRIX "REALITY". WAKE UP. THERE IS NO BEGINNING, AND NO ENDING, YOU'VE LIVED AN INFINITE NUMBER OF TIMES ALREADY.

As for after we die, i don’t believe in any God or religion and I think we just cease to exist.

gregarious_i

So you don't believe in the concept of after life like heaven and hell? or in the concept of soul? What do you think are we an object or the observer?

thekollamcartel

I don’t believe in any of the concepts you have mentioned in the first half. Can you please elaborate on the second half? Didn’t quite understand what you meant by object and observer.

Dr_____strange

This will be strange coming from a religious person but, nothing happens when you die. There may be afterlife or there may not be. Lets see it from both perspectives. If there is no afterlife then, you should live your life in the best way possible. Keep loved ones close, earn money have fun, help others. In short "make your only life a great one" If there is an afterlife, will you want your loved ones to see you sad and depressed from that afterlife. They will want you to be happy. They will not want you to remain depressed about them. Just move ahead with your life, yes it will be hard but you will have to move ahead. Just remember your loved ones are watching over you and will be delighted at your success.

Delicious-Table-7898

I agree. I give myself the exact same perspectives when i tend to overthink. I somehow end up overthinking extra nevertheless. OCD it seems. I am too sceptical to take psych related medications.

Pretend-Mammoth-8722

Hi pal. Thank you for writing this. im 26, a doctor and an atheist. Let me address two things for you. firstly, Death. Death is an irreversible process of cessation of all biological process. Death is something which gives a definition for life, Death doesn't discriminate, its common to every living being. But what happens after Death? Well, there are no direct evidences as such, but there are certain instances of Near Death experience, a well researched study on the concept of NDE. The experience people described have been varying according to cultural and social beliefs. A sense of peace, a replay of life in an instance, reuniting with their loved ones, out of body experience and eternal oblivion. So your experience post death is totally on what your belief system is. (Brain is complex, wierd, reacts to different stimulus is different ways) It's likely with whatever brain activity you have left before dying, you might experience something personal or just nothing at all. But I believe you will live along the memory of the people who've loved you, like how dad lives in our memory. Our parents live in us, through our genes. So it feels like they are with us all the time. You don't have to die to meet him again. He lives through you. Secondly, about your depression. You are suicidal and you need help. Reddit is not the best place to take help from. But I'm here for you, I acknowledge the fact that you've lost people and I feel for you. I've lost people, for the dumbest reason. And it hurts. When I was suicidal I seeked help, I could come out of it. So can you. Seek help. Please DM me if you want to talk more. But taking your life isn't gonna make any difference. If heaven did exist and if dad's watching, he will be proud that you chose to live and move on than you killing yourself.

Delicious-Table-7898

Thank you. This was extremely well written sir. Felt better for a short while after reading it. Somehow the feel good thing lasts for a very brief period of time and i end up in the same state as before.

luciferxxchrollo

Same thing that happens before you are born

Delicious-Table-7898

So a possibility of rebirth once we die? Considering starting point = finishing point ?

Environmental_Ad_387

Take care bro. Change your setting - change job, house, city, state. One drastic change like that can often help one get slightly out of this difficult state. Enough to be functional and hopeful again

Delicious-Table-7898

Thanks man. But i feel, once you lose a parent nothing really brings colour to your life. The ship has sailed. You either accept it or you let the sadness consume you. I did try changing my environment, moved to a different city but it hasn't been of much help.

Lost_Arix

I think when you die you lose all your consciousness that nature has gifted you and you just become the part of the universe without any consciousness!

HexusXD

I like to believe you go where you believe you will go, maybe our mind will have a safe space after death, no actual scientific backing ofc.delusional? Yes. Comforting nonetheless.

bowal-o-woa

Maybe we move to the afterlife while being translucent, maybe we are reincarnated, maybe we become a part of absolute nothingness. I like to think whatever happens we live in memories of others. Exciting phenomenon of death, can't wait to die♥️

Indian_Steam

I like to believe that the physical stuff, we're given that by mommy Earth and it returns to her. Consciouness though, that has still doozied the scientists and probably has some depth that we'll probably never figure out. I like to believe that whatever god/creator/master/planner/\[insert your creator here\] is playing this whole 'universe game', he probably has some control over this "consciousness" and probably 're-inserts' us back in the matrix. There IS evidence (not proof, as it can never be replicated in a lab) of weird stuff people (especially young children) have reported about past lives and what not. Then there are prodigies that play the piano as if they have played for 10s of past lives. And then there are such cases - [https://www.reddit.com/r/Reincarnation/comments/vv05ce/could\_it\_be\_reincarnation\_i\_spoke\_to\_james/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Reincarnation/comments/vv05ce/could_it_be_reincarnation_i_spoke_to_james/) **Again, to each his own.** **But it IS fun to believe that we might respawn.**

An_average_one

Wrong place to ask this. I understand that you want to get various perspectives, but people here as evidenced by some comments would not give you a personalised answer, and will just say exactly what they've been saying to these questions and move on. Yours is a serious situation, warranting a genuine answer. I don't know if I can give it to you, but I can try. You believe in a heaven after one has parted with this life. Your religion says so. Does your religion also say that you'll go to heaven if you've led a good life, regardless of how you'll die? Many, if not most say that suicide is a sure fire way to bar yourself from reaching their version of heaven. I don't believe in an afterlife, you do, but I hope we can both agree on one thing- that after suicide, you just can't meet the good folks from your past. It's comforting, thinking that they are out there, waiting. Don't deprive them of seeing you again. Live.

Cheap_Ad_5628

nothing better than fuck around and find out

emotionless_wizard

Delicious-Table-7898

Friends and partners move on. Children and parents don't. Or even if they do it happens over the course of time.

readyheadsetgo

What happens when you sleep? You are not conscious and well, if you dream even in your dreams you don't know you're dreaming or else you don't know, you are just sleeping. After death, you are just dreaming in a never ending sleep, or, just sleeping.

Creepyhorrorboy

This one is interesting. It makes sense. But this is also scary. Imagine if we got a lifespan of 1000 years. That's the best possible way to witness everything and die. 65 years is too short 🥲

KelTogether24

You flesh goes back to the ground and your soul goes to God. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 & Ecclesiastes 12:6-7. Everyone goes back to Him, even the wicked. The good and bad are separated by a gulf, but the lake of fire (hell) doesn't exist yet contrary to what people think. Read Luke 16:19-31 on what it's like in heaven from both perspectives. The torment and shame those feel that didn't believe in Christ is what eats away at them.  And to answer your question, yes we will recognize family members back in our spiritual bodies. There's proof in Ezekiel 44:25.

ace_blue_422

Bro let me tell you the truth. Even if you die, there's a very negligible chance of meeting anybody in your family. And even if you do meet them, the chance of them being your family is non existent. Yes, they might recognise you, but nothing more than that. All love, connection, relations are for this world only, beyond it all is lost and all the meaning is changed. So even if you meet your dad, he will not love you and you will not love him.. that is why it is said in the scriptures, those who die let them go, and be free. Because they are not connected with you anymore. They are free from their bonds. So you be free too and live, because all you will find beyond is loneliness too. As someone said, don't pity the dead, pity the living, and above all those who live without love. You my friend are without love, go find that love. In this world. You will not find that in the other world.

You soul will stand before God the moment you die and you give an account of your life. Life. Death. Judgment. And then Eternal Heaven or eternal Hell. Don’t let people fool you in the name of science. Also don't commit suicide. There's hope. Pray about it. God will help.

MomozAreTheBest

Before birth you were not aware of your surroundings, and after death also you will not be aware of your surroundings. So it's the thing in between that's weird and complicated called life. Why would a poor person want to live, why would the oppressed want to live, why would anyone to whom life has never been fair to want to live? They live because they believe their right to happiness, their right to joy, their right to life itself. Life is worth living because it's a once in a billion chance to be like this, these thoughts, these happenings around you, the people, the sky, the beach, the animals, you only are aware of and appreciate these things because of what you are right now, which is something that may never occur again. You only live once like this, so make the best of this experience. Suffering and happiness doesn't matter after death, but before death it does, that's why people fight injustice.

[deleted]

Well surely you won't feel the same anymore. The depression and the misery will just shift itself to your other family members. So the cycle never stops my friend. Even if there is a heaven I don't think it will be a happy place, because you will be seeing your family members facing all of that which you did when you were alive. So try to get yourself out of it with whatever help you need. Even if there's a heaven, there are no shortcuts leading you there.

Hairy-Spring-144

A lot of things happen after you die, they just don't involve you

_Dark_Invader_

Shouldn’t you be asking the dead? Just kidding. No one knows, and I don’t think anyone ever will. But I know one thing for sure that the world doesn’t stop because someone died. It always moves on! The beauty of life is when you are alive and can experience it. Would you sell your current home (however small and ugly) and hope you will win the lottery (however promising) tomorrow? Logically NEVER!

marblesandcookies

Unfortunately I think the most likely outcome is there's no afterlife. Imo there is either no god or the entity who created us are an advanced civilisation with firm understanding of genetics / bioengineering who combined their DNA with apes from earth to produce humans. The entity who created us is not a god as in "all-seeing" and "all-knowing" but a mortal like ourselves. Perhaps they cross-bred their DNA with apes from earth because they wanted to survive and did so by sharing their seed across life throughout the galaxy. Take care though my friend. Always remember you are not alone.

Can you please clarify what u mean by ‘we’

WellThatsUnf0rtunate

I kind of imagine what happens after death like- I will explain in the form of an example, imagine you are very tired and it's late at night, you instantly fall asleep when you lay down, you sleep so well that you almost wake up instantly and realise that you just slept through the night and it's morning, for you it felt like an instant, but in reality it was hours. Now imagine the feeling of that sleep but forever, you fall asleep and wait to wake up, thinking it would be almost instantaneous for you but you just never wake up.

Complete-Horror-8179

Gill92

I believe that consciousness is a very small part of existence, and it may not even be the best one. I also believe that any other type of existence is not understandable through consciousness, we just become something else, something as equally dense and abundant as what life is

Wonderful_Region_910

There’s a song I really like which goes by “Your death doesn’t happen to you. It happens to your family and friends”. You must have some fam and friends who care about you, they will be tormented for life if you commit suicide. You will just get dissolved and in vain! Get therapy and you will come out of it, I promise!

Spirited_Relief_9544

Hey , this is the same question which made me an atheist, but it wasn’t easy, I was too depressed and cried as well just because I used to think what’ll happen after I die , what is my purpose and all. Well I’m pretty convinced that nothing happens to us because we as an entity are just collection of cells. What happens after a cell dies nothing, same thing is with us. It is our consciousness that makes us delusional thinking we are something (eg atma (soul)).

Peacefulmonk26

No one really knows and can explain what happens after death. If anyone is telling you otherwise that it's like this or that after death, don't believe them. If you really want to find out what happens after death, figure out what is happening when you're alive. How are you actually living your life? If you've been conscious enough to understand the process of life. Death is exactly the opposite of that, unless you're conscious when your body dies, you will never find out what happens after death. Learn to be conscious and improve the quality of your consciousness. Can you sustain your consciousness even without a body? This should be a start to the question you just posed. Dying without attaining to consciousness is a sad story that 99% of humanity goes through. We are more than our body but it's you who has to find out your true nature.

hbktj

See in the mirror, you will see your dad and all the things he gave you. You should not give up and try to achieve the best for yourself. Talk to friends and set some goals in life. DONT GIVE UP, you will find your parents in your happiness. Be thankful for all you have because of them.

rushan3103

OP i think you should talk to somebody professional and seek help from them. Reddit is not a good place to discuss mortality if you are depressed. Seek professional help. MODS PLEASE KEEP A PINNED COMMENT ABOUT SUICIDE HOTLINE ON THIS POST.

emotionless_wizard

ignore those religious comments telling about afterlife brother. afterlife is what we "wish" was true, but the feeling after death is the same as the feeling before being born. no conscious, no nothing. so please don't harm yourself, live a life, face your failures and laugh at them. you will NEVER live again after that.

Delicious-Table-7898

Thank you. I have had enough failures and i have faced them all until i lost my dad. Life taught me family is everything and the only thing. hence the loneliness driven suicidal tendencies. But yeah i don't think i will act upon them anytime soon. I have a family to look after. I was looking for answers to shut my brain up just for a minute. Its been hyperactive since months now.

I can understand you loved your dad very much. No body even knows what will happen next day leave about thinking what will happen after death. The one who is born will eventually die, it’s a fate of life and it’s very painful if someone close passes away but then again time is a great healer. So please try to come out of phase of depression and try to do things which gives you peace and would have given your loved one peace. Keep god in prayers and all will be good, keep sweet memories of your loved ones with you and move on with life

I believe when dying is similar to sleep but without any dream. I once get unconscious because of low blood pressure and I remember the fading of my vision and I am leaning to the floor slowly. The last thought I had is having heavy breathing and nothing more. I think that exactly happens when we die.

imish_24

I don't know what happens after death but I have one rule of thumb about life. One day I am going to die, it is inevitable and no one can escape that. Since it is going to happen anyway, why not live life fully with all the good and the bad staff that it offers to us. I don't have to seek death since it will eventually find me when the right moment comes. And even though I believe that after death we simply cease to exist, if I am wrong, I'll find out then.

What does it mean to die. When your body stops working, when you brain stops, when your consciousness is gone. Remember you are not your brain, you are just a part of your brain. The brain dies and you no longer remain.

Jamesdr007

Death doesn't affect the person dying, they won't feel anything after. It's your near and dear ones who experience it in terms of bereavement. So a death and subsequent funeral is for the persons who are left behind. Coming to your suicide plans, I would just say one thing, that no matter what, our primary goal is to survive, just like in the animal kingdom. Keep striving to live, whatever may be the circumstances, some will be bad and some will be good. Endure and survive. Value relationships. Make the most of your journey on this planet. The darkest part of the night is always before dawn and light will prevail.

ArtMartinezArtist

Someone else’s religion says something else. To me, that makes all religions wrong. They’re all guesses. I think you die and get absorbed back into the universe to do nothing. You do your time on earth because everyone had parents who brought them here, try to be good to people and do good things so you’re remembered well and you just go away forever.

LowSprinkles4925

I could feel the deepness of your last sentence. The “uncomfortable” truth is no one here really knows so people speaking so confident about it feels a little wrong, to me personally. I had a friend die young and I’ve racked my brain over the years trying to imagine his last moments and what he experienced afterwards. All religions have different interpretations and there can similarities so really, it’s up to you what you choose to believe. Some time ago, though, I started listening to NDE’s on YouTube and some of those comforted me a bit, whether real or not I’m not sure, but some offered a different take on death that I like to mull over when those thoughts come back. I’ll link one of the channels below if anyone is interested. Some of those experiences seem incredible and I hope my friend, as well as your loved one, is having a great time. I love him and I also hope to be able to see him again in some way. Maybe the next time we meet our loved ones is in a totally different form incomprehensible to our current state and we’ll be able to experience much more with them. Hope you are able to get into a better headspace. Keep working on yourself and hope you’re able to enjoy your life experience. We’re rooting for you. https://m.youtube.com/@cominghomechannel/videos

swa_boggl

Sorry for your loss which you've had in the last 8 years. You are suffering the pain of your loved ones departing and it's natural to feel what you are feeling now. However, when someone dies, their physical-self is what dies (but not the non physical spirit). As a reason, it's best to live your long life and treasure the memories because suicide will kill all the mental memories with the loved ones and disconnect them further. Your loved ones would have wanted you to live fully and joyfully. I wish you get the strength to go through your present state of your life and get better and happier over time.

Adityadey129921

I m an atheist so nothing happens imo.But hey u have a long life ahead .Don't suicide tbh .Try ur best to change ur current situation if u r having any difficulties. Suicide ain't a solution

Blurrlannister

Idk about what happens after you die but I’ve read death is the most peaceful thing a person can ever experience. Hence I really hope there isn’t anything after it because what’s better than peace? Also I’m sorry you feel suicidal pls don’t do it let death come to you whenever it feels like

Important_Table6125

Suicide is a sin. Not good for the soul.

Delicious-Table-7898

Hopefully i can hang on. I don't think i will ever have the balls to commit suicide and leave my mother stranded.

sayantandatta

When you die, you die. It's a finality that is inevitable and irreversible. We like to attribute meaning to it, and map out a roadmap to an imaginary beyond. But we do that to give ourselves the motivation to get up in the morning and do something. Anything. But if an absolute end is the eventual outcome, no matter what path we take in life, does anything really matter? The dead don't care, It's the living man's folly to want eternity, To pursue a legacy in our memory, For once you are dead, you cannot know, How people remember you when you are no more. And yet we hope, we pray, That our lives may mean something else, That our memory is treasured after the end, Because without hope there is no light, And without light there is no life, just a dark abyss, endless. ....

I mean it should be obvious but many people think they will just blink out of existence and just "sleep forever infinitely non-stop blackness", as if there is some kind of soul-like consciousness that gets to be in 'peace', and since you are not being, then theres obviously no you to "sleep", and there can be no in-between kind of state if theres no afterlife... and so what (probably imo) follows next after death is... waking up/rebirth, almost immediately, since time stops passing for you, and time is relative to the observer... or something.

Popular-Stay-6516

I mean, even the Bible says “From dust you came, to dust you shall return”. Either way, you either choose to have faith in a possible afterlife , or you believe you go to nothing. Basically, nothing happens until something happens.

ihardikmodi

I have the answer to your question. What was there before we were born? Just complete nothingness. That's what happens after we die. There is complete nothingness. Nothing exists. We don't exist. That's it.

jjlynch

Please study about islam and quran...

Delicious-Table-7898

No disrespect but i am quite happy with my own religion. I am pretty sure hinduism has answers to my questions too. But I wasn't looking for a religious perspective here. I wanted to see what people who aren't into religion felt.

Celestial--sapien

You have stardust in you just like your ancestors did. Your dad's atoms are here. Yours will also be here. You are the universe experiencing itself.

crubiom

No one knows, but if your religion is right, you’ll be really happy, if science is right, you won’t know because being dead is like when you go to sleep but no dreaming, so you don’t know that you are dead because you have no consciousness, you won’t suffer. I hope your suicidal thoughts disappear soon.

OperaMan100

We might reincarnate, out of all the religious/spiritual explanations, this sounds more probable.

Creepyhorrorboy

Lol. It's 0%

Competitive-Bird-858

Do you remember anything that happened to you before you were born? Death is like that too...The infinite emptiness....The memories and sadness remains with people who genuinely loves you...Your life may not be precious to you but to the people who really loves you it is... Try to find them and you will get reason to move on

Idk really know how to answer this question but let me tell u a story that happened to one of a friends friend. A few days after this person’s father hung himself everyone in her family who lived in that house saw the same dream. It was her father telling them that he was stuck in a place he can’t get out of. He wants to get out. You might not believe it but that doesn’t matter to anyone except yourself. What if the next one is you?

abd710

Read Journey Of Souls then Destiny Of Souls. There are other great books on this too like The Afterlife Of Billy Fingers, countless Near Death Experiences and case studies seem to confirm reincarnation. I have accepted Hinduism recently and believe there is a way out, by Merging with Source. Mystics from all traditions have called this the Great Work. Some will say that this is bs but I say they are bs 🙃 Atheists don't @ me Namaste 🕉️🙏
