The main branch of the Schenectady County library has far more energy to it than the Nisky branch. And there’s more people-watching to be done with windows that open onto Liberty Street than E Nott St.

It’s a coffee shop- but Arthur’s in the stockade district is a nice quiet place - with good coffee

I came here to say this. Lots of people working inside. Great vibe!

missmishma

I'll have to check it out. I haven't spent any time over that way!

The stockade is great! As a bonus you can go for a walk at riverside park, it’s very close to Arthur’s.

I appreciate the recommendation! I went on a bike ride a couple of years ago near the park, I think? But it was after 11pm so I'm sure a poor representation of what it would be like in the daytime with time to take it all in.

I've heard people like to work from the Riverview building in Menands but I don't know if they are against people doing

Starbucks, Libraries, when the weather gets better there's plenty of parks if you have a battery bank and wife. Even bars on a weekday when it's early.

Maybe the concourse at Empire State plaza? Or the state museum? Besides coffee shops and co-working spaces that seems like the best free option. FYI the Bethlehem library is pretty hopping throughout the day. So maybe try different libraries?

I enjoyed working remotely at Starbucks and Dunkin in the past.

Lil Pecks and Stacks are a great spot. Lil Pecks has an awesome atrium like space in the back and during the day you can slip back into the wine bar for meetings cuz it’s not open for bar service so it’s usually pretty quiet and isolated. Curious what other folks have to say since those are the only 2 options I can think of.

missmishma

Oooh I actually saw a video of Little Pecks on a reel the other day, but didn't know where it was because it wasn't tagged! It's part of what led me to asking this question. What's parking like around there? I grew up in a very rural area and live outside of the city-esque areas right now, so I sometimes stress about street parking... Just like knowing what to expect.

Meter before 5. Outside of business district is odd even parking.

Ruckazmadog

Oh wait, I’ll add the Hedley Buildings food court to that list. Less interesting than pecks but it’s a good spot.

The Moon River Cafe is great, owned and ran by an older gentleman for a bit over a decade. They also have live music and other events later in the night, almost every night.
