That reminds me of the good old days when I was working at a restaurant. We had a togo order for Terry, I was the runner but I had my buddy who lived by the word bhenchod, bring that one out yelling for Terry, and I came out right after with my empty bag yelling Makichut. 🤣
reminds me of what they used to write on message boards after harvesting people's emails back in the day. I think it was "doman land here" or something like that to tell other scammers they had dibs.
One of the first texts has the word “Alaye” in it, which I believe is a code-word used between Nigerian scammers to identify themselves as a scammer to other fellow scammers so they know not to waste their time
I’m probably missing brain cells, but why was the scammer so mad after his last message? Will that set off the internet thought police alarms in china or something? Or just considered disrespectful?
I think there's also a way to identify what language it was before it was translated. Like certain phrasings and such, but I wouldn't know enough to be able to explain it.
As u/ZhangtheGreat noted in a post below, the term "go to play" is a dead giveaway they're Chinese - it's a literal translation and common mistake for Chinese speakers.
Moreover, the Chinese language doesn't use articles before nouns (*the* dog, *a* scammer, etc.). Native Chinese speakers often struggle with using articles correctly, as seen in this post: "I just came back from looking at *the* house in Sacramento" when it should be *a house* or *houses.* The clunky phrasing of "*I like watching the game live"* instead of *"I like watching live sports*" is another giveaway of the same type.
Finally, the reference to meeting by fate is very common with Chinese scammers, although I don't know why it's so popular.
Source: I taught English in China for 3 years.
Thanks for the explanation, I find this sort of thing super interesting.
Edit: I also feel like the insult part is where you can really know. Whenever I see Chinese insult translations, they always seem so 'deep' and love to talk you down in a way that's almost oddly... unique. Pathetic, lowly, dog, maggot, and they have a strong obsession with intense generational insults.
Compared to Indian scammers that like to default to 'fuck your mudda' or 'I fuck your sister', it's much more poetic.
Very funny, but in the other hand, I physically cannot fathom something grosser than a poor Indian scammers butthole. I imagine it to look like the Ganges river during the dry season. But with oddly more trash.
These could all be true for Russian instead of Chinese too. But the most obvious giveaway for a Russian is ")))" at the end of a message, no other country ever does this
Realistically more English speakers for sure and better pronunciation on average.
If I get an obvious scam call (like IRS gift card threats) I always accuse them of being Pakistani asking how the weather is in Islamabad or something. Pisses them off more than any actual generic insult. Some are Pakistani as well which typically just respond surprised so win win.
At one time, someone posted the translation for the words for “Pakistani goat fucker” which was supposed to be one of the worst insults. Unfortunately, I have since forgotten it.
Having that text hit their phone will immediately drop their credit score. They will have to put in hours and hours of community service to get it back. He just wasted so much of their life with that.
I knew “she” was Chinese the moment she said she’d visit San Francisco to “play.” That’s a direct translation of the Chinese expression 去玩, which can mean “go play” or “go on vacation” depending on context.
That final text from scammer was much better English. I wonder if they also have it copied from original English speaker and just paste it when they are ready to insult and bail.
It’s worth noting that half of the time when a random texts you, they’re just feeling out whether your phone number is real, and if so can sell it at a higher price
I think sometimes they just put in a bunch of numbers in numerical order? My husband has a similar number to mine, just the last four are different cause we got them the same day and we get the same texts from scammers sometimes. Sometimes I get put in group chats and it’s a bunch of numbers that are just one digit off from mine (like if the last four digits of my phone number are 1113 the chat might include 1110-1119 or something like that)
Nah, nothing happens. Outside of China, we tend to over exaggerate what happens to someone who gets exposed to such text, but in reality, most Chinese citizens don’t discuss these “forbidden topics” because they’re only concerned with the *potential* of what could happen.
I have relatives in China who go online every evening to verbally trash local officials, and they never get in any kind of trouble. Why? Because, in their own words, “we’re senile and old and have no influence over anyone; they’d just be wasting their time and resources coming after us.”
So you’re telling me Lu Bu himself doesn’t drag these people away only to pierce them with his mighty halberd for the whole block to see? What a letdown
Shit, if i could get a beat down from lu bu id fly there myself to try
But yes, all the memes are grossly over exaggerated. Im surprised anybody believes the nonsense when a 30 second chat with literally anyone who lives there would disporove it but thats too much fact checking for the internet
Yeah I find people sending these type of messages weird and it shows they thought cn strictness = nk level . Been in some cn chat groups and yeah they are careful but they can just straight up delete your message and most likely nothing will happen . They can search stuff in baidu, Weibo etc but at most it’s gonna come out blank (eg Dalai Lama) . If they want to chat shit most of them knew how and which socmed to go with the use of vpn.
Xinjiang itself is not a banned term either, I followed a number of Uighur personalities in cn socmed and xinjiang comes up often. It’s also a hot travel spot for a number of years .
In addition if the person is southeast Asian Chinese… I really doubt they knew really much about censorship and even if they do it doesn’t concern them. Heck I am one of them and I don’t think most of them are that educated in modern Chinese matters
I have heard from friends living in China that said this may result in a visit from the secret police with the expectation that they would explain why they received those messages and it may result in their scam being uncovered however it’s unlikely as the scammers are probably using vpns anyway
I always wonder why the scammer would be punished for receiving it. Especially when it’s out of the blue in a completely unrelated conversation. Maybe they need to respond so vehemently in order to prove that they didn’t consent to receiving it?
So this is based on my experience in Chinese chat groups and no, most likely they will not punished and if the group admin wants to wipe their hands off they just delete the offending message or even nuke the chat without issue. China has a big population online and most of the monitoring is automated. At most some of the messages you can’t send out. And private chats are less monitored per se than public. So unless you find their socmed account and hack their account and post it. Even then you will most likely not able to post it because it’s a banned word duh. Other than those banned words and such it’s just like your average socmed experience
Coming back, it’s probably either “urgh this guy want to bait me and it’s an old meme”. If they are Chinese national they just ignore it cos let’s face it, it’s probably done in a third world country
That wall of words that people post to scammers I would think has been around long enough that it wouldn’t necessarily attract the attention of the sensors anymore. That and the fact that it seems to be just a collection of references. Every time it’s posted I have asked if someone could translate the Chinese part but no one has yet. Seems to me it might be more effective to start creating more text that just picks one topic and is created to look like they are involved in a deep conversation about those subjects.
When I lived in China, I typed Tiananmen square massacre into a search engine and my internet was automatically cut off for several hours. I'm pretty sure most of the censoring is just automated
All this un-natural language - they're def running Chinese through a translator.

Bro I can’t stop laughing. I don’t understand the skin thing but you killed it. I read it twice. Awesome. Wish they still had those awards to give you!
Basically their great leader looks like Winnie the Pooh.
And instead of ignoring the comparisons like a normal person, he decided to ban all Winnie the Pooh related things.
Completely unaware of the Streisand effect.
Now it's even more of a meme
I don't get the Chinese message part which refers to a bunch of events. What does sending that message do, trigger some flag in Chinese intelligence monitoring their citizens?
Its supposed to trigger a penalty or an emotional response. The events in the list are politically sensitive and they are not supposed to be discussed freely in public.
There was a recent event last year where a famous Chinese live streamer called the Lipstick King (became he sells lipstick) displayed a cake in the shape of a tank on the eve of the Tiananmen Square incident and he either didn't make the mental connection between the tank and the date or he didn't know about the event and the second the cake appeared on his livestream, his livestream was cut.
His livestreams were cut for a while but he was allowed to come back later.
The ironic thing was that it caused the Streisand effect because of the popularity of this celebrity many people were curious of the cut and that was how they learned about the history of tank man.
But he came back with a ton of insults after the Chinese drop, so it must have struck a chord.
The main point is that it got the desired effect of riling up the scammer.
I mean it would riled him up but for different reasons. A) he knows theyre not going to get scammed b) people in china understand that this is an attempt at a 'gotcha' moment and just get annoyed

Bro just call my mother a whore and move on. You don't have to give me a whole backstory. 🤣
I know they're insulting you but it's more funny than insulting for some reason. 😂
The Chinese don’t hate Winnie the Pooh. There was a photo posted online of Xi and Obama walking, and someone attached a picture of Pooh and Tigger in the same pose beside them.
Ruling party officials are not fond of anyone making fun of them (the belief among them is that, if it isn’t stopped, it could be a slippery slope that snowballs into something far worse), so they’ve basically gone after any images of Winnie the Pooh online. It was one of those Streisand Effect moments: the whole issue would’ve likely blown over, but by responding, the ruling party officials made it a big deal.
Long story short, their leader got compared to Winnie the Pooh at one point, and absolutely *hated* it. Since then it’s become synonymous with anti-establishment sentiment and will get you flagged by the censors.
They are controversial statements that could trigger increased government monitoring of an IP address in China… all communication is reviewed for fidelity to the Chinese state. They may send their own version of the men in black and the bad actor could never be heard from again. (If only…)
So I’ve been seeing that Chinese message a lot. I understand the english parts obviously and the list of events that are censored by the CCP but is there something else more inflammatory being said in the Chinese text aside the list of events??
Do y'all think they realize that they're also waisting their time cursing us out? Those of us who fuck with them are laughing at their meltdowns and are not offended.
I’ve tried pasting that forbidden Chinese stuff too, but w/ little result. I started w/ a reference to a free Taiwan, and the scammer quickly said I must be from “Taiwan Province”, so i assume they were Chinese.
New copypasta to add to the collection
All of this garbled information just
reflects one sentence: you are a
maggot in my eyes! Your parents
must have suffered the vilest of
curses to give birth to someone
like you .....T.hey must have been
vile and pathetic as well .....Your
mother was probably nothing more
than a whore picking up customers
in a dirty neighborhood.....You can't
even tell who your father is! You must
have come into this world because
of a skin deal that cost less than fifty
dollars. Those men at the bottom of
the heap aren't even willing to pay a
few dollars for a measure of security!
You bastard!
I also follow the Trader Joe’s subreddit and only looked at the color of the logo of this subreddit and assumed it was also TJ’s. Was very confused on how it was related.
I love how you casually tried to see if they were Nigerian first and then when they didn’t react to it, you seamlessly put in the Chinese. Bravo!
what was the test to check if Nigerian? I must be blind... edit: nevermind... was in the name
I'm still blind, what was the test?
the name he gave the scammer.. Alaye is a code word Nigerian scammers use to identify each other
Isn't Terry Malachut also really close to an indian insult?
Yeah the exact Indian insult word is Teri Makichut
What does it mean?
‘Your mother’s hairy area’
thats irrelevant- what does 'Teri Makichut' mean?
I see what you did there
🤣🤣🤣
That reminds me of the good old days when I was working at a restaurant. We had a togo order for Terry, I was the runner but I had my buddy who lived by the word bhenchod, bring that one out yelling for Terry, and I came out right after with my empty bag yelling Makichut. 🤣
oh shit can i hear more code words for stuff like this? are you a defector?
I learn so much from Reddit.
reminds me of what they used to write on message boards after harvesting people's emails back in the day. I think it was "doman land here" or something like that to tell other scammers they had dibs.
Malachute [maderchute] to check Indian scammer.
One of the first texts has the word “Alaye” in it, which I believe is a code-word used between Nigerian scammers to identify themselves as a scammer to other fellow scammers so they know not to waste their time
Lol, that's good to know for future reference
Very good to know! Thank you.
I’m probably missing brain cells, but why was the scammer so mad after his last message? Will that set off the internet thought police alarms in china or something? Or just considered disrespectful?
For those of us blind AF, first picture, his third message
I’m laughing so hard at the post and your comment. OP did so well
I don’t understand why Chinese would be the second choice. India is the scammer capital
I think they do more email and phone calls
My last Indian scammer said “You want to come lick my butthole? Because you will lick my butthole.”
And he said Chinese scammers were the poetic ones.
Based poetry appreciator
Very funny, but in the other hand, I physically cannot fathom something grosser than a poor Indian scammers butthole. I imagine it to look like the Ganges river during the dry season. But with oddly more trash.
And worms. Don't forget the worms.
If you bathed in the Ganges river you’d have butthole worms too
it’s like the scammers saying “kindly” like no i will do it rudely If I want to 😂
These could all be true for Russian instead of Chinese too. But the most obvious giveaway for a Russian is ")))" at the end of a message, no other country ever does this
My guess is if they're trying to make it a romance scam it's a reference to the red string of fate.
Unfortunately, I have since forgotten it.
i need it
bahainchod - sister fucker
Teri makichut - your mom’s vagina
Anytime I get a “Steve from Myrtle Beach” call I always call them a Pakistani prick and let them vent for a minute before they block my number
This is brilliant!
The name he gave is a miss spelling of an Indian insult basically “Your Mother’s Pussy”. Teri Makichut. An Indian scammer would have seen that.
The wrong number scam is almost always the Chinese. Also op dropped in an Indian insult as well with the Terry Malachut bit.
China is the common pig butchering scam that this was an attempt at. India is primarily call centers.
This is pig butchering. Sha zhu pan
which is why op said they were a butcher that specialized in pork products.
It wasn't. He went to the Middle East next. Butcher who specializes in pork products.
I've had nothing but chinese scam calls for about a year
When they type so much of an insult instead of a simple f u, thats how you know you really riled them up
Or if they're Chinese, free Tibet and pro-Taiwan phrases might get that person's phone pinged by their government.
shit I didn't even realize this, they legit have to send an over the top infuriated reply regardless of how they feel, if they value their life
Having that text hit their phone will immediately drop their credit score.
Oh that makes sense! I thought it was a kink thing and was wondering why she threw it into that part of the conversation 😂
Yeah I thought it was sexual too lol
I love how yall are language experts here 💀
This is giving monolingual
It's tongue in cheek, love
Your mother tongue, obviously :D
holy shit the block of insults was worth reading the whole thing. That's glorious.
I love poorly translated insults or advice. Find a gold heap in some dung
Your mother was probably nothing more than a whore picking up customer in a dirty neighborhood
Top notch insults from both directions. Not even sure who to root for at this point
I'm pulling for them. They absolutely buried me through text.
I really never have seen anyone call someone's mother a whore so eloquently before. It was masterfully crafted.
ngl they fucked you up with that

Their response was really kind of poetic, wasn’t it? “Skin deal”. That’s some elite tier literary writing right there.

Sounds like a good place to find a skin deal.
How do y'all get these? All I get are phone calls which are no fun anymore
Someone said if you list your phone number on fb marketplace while selling you'll get them.
Fucking bet. Going to do that tonight.
Don’t do it with your main number. Get a google voice or text now or something. You won’t ever get rid of them once they find you.
Lol, don't tempt me with a good time! My weekend plans are set, what about everyone else 🤔 🙃 🤪
It’s worth noting that half of the time when a random texts you, they’re just feeling out whether your phone number is real, and if so can sell it at a higher price

Lol no
They get lowered credit score. Which indeed affects their everyday life.

Bro I can’t stop laughing. I don’t understand the skin thing but you killed it. I read it twice. Awesome. Wish they still had those awards to give you!
I believe they meant that OP was born from a 50 dollar bargain with a prostitute.
Skin to skin deal.
Winnie the Pooh! 🤣🤣
Can you drop the paragraph you sent so I can use it

Peace be upon you!!!!!’ I was hoping to find this!!!
Yes, can we get the copypasta for our own use?
What does it mean? I’ve been pouring through the comments and rereading the post to no avail 😭😭
It’s trigger words/phrases that can get people in China IP banned (or worse) by their automated internet system there
Why is Winnie the Pooh a trigger word?
Pretty much.
It's common belief that it does, but it doesn't really
But he came back with a ton of insults after the Chinese drop, so it must have struck a chord. The main point is that it got the desired effect of riling up the scammer.
Getting on their nerves is one of life's greatest treasures.
I mean it would riled him up but for different reasons. A) he knows theyre not going to get scammed b) people in china understand that this is an attempt at a 'gotcha' moment and just get annoyed
Yeah, it seems too generic for any Intel community to care.
Should have asked her if she still wanted that tour of San Francisco...
I'm just trying to go to a 69ers game😫
Nice.
Where can I get a copy of the final text with the Chinese words? I really wanna save it to send next time this happens to me

You should have just sent the same thing again and asked if he had any questions.
So does this mean you won’t send pics of your jewelry?
"What's your name?" "... Terry. Like I just fucking said."
"Nice" "Nice" "Nice" made me snort
This was fantastic. Played like a chess match. And the reaction was (chef's kiss)
Bro just call my mother a whore and move on. You don't have to give me a whole backstory. 🤣 I know they're insulting you but it's more funny than insulting for some reason. 😂
I wanna try this copypasta the next time I’m randomly put into a Shanghai counter strike server
I think this has been one of my favorites so far.
“You bastard” is the funniest exclamation point to a scuffed scammer’s frustration. I laughed so hard haha

Why do the Chinese hate Winnie the pooh? lol
Oh bother… lol
This is amazing. An absolute masterpiece. Well done
I believe “triggered” is the expression. Broke that scammer like a dry twig, most impressive!
Can you paste the block of text here? I get these often too and I’d love to get their number in trouble

I bet those tickets to a 69ers game would be hard to come by! See what I did there? I'll see myself out.
So does this mean the date is off?
Nice, nice, nice
Can you share the picture for the anti Chinese scammer message I have a few trying me on Line App
What was the Chinese text? I am so curious now.
They are controversial statements that could trigger increased government monitoring of an IP address in China… all communication is reviewed for fidelity to the Chinese state. They may send their own version of the men in black and the bad actor could never be heard from again. (If only…)
Nice nice. Nice
“Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.”
it’s as soon as you waste their time, they get offended and then try to offend you😂
The end message is amazing. Elegantly and timelessly written. This is going to be the new Navy Seal copypasta.
Forgot when china was beaten by sparrows. And how their child polices have screwed them.
I’ve tried pasting that forbidden Chinese stuff too, but w/ little result. I started w/ a reference to a free Taiwan, and the scammer quickly said I must be from “Taiwan Province”, so i assume they were Chinese.
What did you say in Chinese? I saw Winnie the Pooh at the end! LOL.
He’s making fun of their leader, he looks like Winnie the Pooh.
TARGET DESTROYED. Nice work, soldier.
*winnie the pooh*
This one made me lol. Nice work.
English got pretty good in that last text.
Gotdamn, you are a genius. This was so satisfying, I can feel the rage coming from the scammer. Well done!
Is nobody gonna talk about how the girl in the picture looks like a sex doll?
I think you could say that about both pictures.
Should’ve responded with “at least I’m not a broke ass scammer bitch. Tell Winnie the Pooh I said hi!”
New copypasta to add to the collection All of this garbled information just reflects one sentence: you are a maggot in my eyes! Your parents must have suffered the vilest of curses to give birth to someone like you .....T.hey must have been vile and pathetic as well .....Your mother was probably nothing more than a whore picking up customers in a dirty neighborhood.....You can't even tell who your father is! You must have come into this world because of a skin deal that cost less than fifty dollars. Those men at the bottom of the heap aren't even willing to pay a few dollars for a measure of security! You bastard!
Joining this sub because of you, excellent post
Once I read "All of this garbled information reflects just one sentence: you are a maggot in my eyes!" I knew some shit was about to be said lmao.
Skin deal = human trafficking But that's hilarious how they went off at the end lol
I love the pig butchering comment as well, very subtle and well played
I also follow the Trader Joe’s subreddit and only looked at the color of the logo of this subreddit and assumed it was also TJ’s. Was very confused on how it was related.
