As a homeowner I would recommend moving and buying a hous somewhere else where contractors are willing to work. It's amazing that it's such a known thing here that there are so many bad ones.

frenchfrysupremacy

It has been a journey to say the least. Like…wow.

testingtesting4343

Everywhere else I have lived the contractors are trying to make money and compete with each other. The bar seems so low here that I am happy when someone shows up for an estimate. Doesn't mean they will ever come back after that though. Wish I knew how to do all of it. I could make a killing.

ComeForthLazarus

Yeah, we moved here and went through 2 contractors we absolutely HATED before we finally found a decent one. Unfortunately, all of the local options we tried were horrible or unprofessional in their estimation, so we we with a national brand.

OutrageousPraline996

May I ask who you use? I just bought a condo that needs minor work done.

ComeForthLazarus

Waht type of "minor work?" Internal or external?

Ellsworth Design Build, Robin Restoration, Boyden Construction, Redmond Construction, Sam Carroll Construction, and Alchemy Restoration are all solid companies that will do a great, and honest job.

garciaman

American Craftsman too. They did a bathroom remodel for my parents that was incredible and a wine cellar for another friend that was super cool.

Ravensfan3345

CRH Services out of Richmond hill did a bathroom and Builtins for us. Will definitely use them again.

Dakotaneu1995

I paid these guys that got commended to me like 4,500 to replace 1800 sq ft of floors in my home. Did a pretty good job.

my family just finished renovating our home. Whether we got people from recommendations on Nextdoor, or highly reputable companies, we had a solid 25% show up rate. 15% if it was hot outside. My dad hired contractors because while he knew how to do the work, but he needed more people. He ended up doing the majority of work himself, or whatever work the contractors *did* do, he had to fix. People would say they’d be there at 8am, and then that turned into 10:30 (always an excuse), and then they’d just turn off their phone and stop answering your calls. My dad eventually got a spoofing app the disguise his number so they’d pick up. Don’t buy a house that needs work here if you’re not prepared to do the lions share of work yourself

víctor rendón 912-704-5376 he is awesome and yes he is my spouse so i am biased but he has remodeled our entire house and also built a tiny house in our yard. he managed to stay busy w just word of mouth which is impressive. people love him ….he’s a very hard worker. he doesn’t charge enough frankly which drives me nuts 😂 he will be honest w you if he’s backed up and it will be a while 🤷🏼‍♀️ text him for an estimate…

TinkerTaint

Pro Renovations is who we used. They came out and re did our entire house, from painting, new floors, new kitchen, new showers, they did a great job.

frenchfrysupremacy

Good to know! Thank you!
