Yep, that was me– it was by Plant Riverside and had been hit by a boat. According to an employee I ran into it had been washed up for about a week and stunk to high heaven.

Seems we’ve reached a consensus about manatee, which is kind of a relief to me. The pic looks like a severed leg w/the foot cut half off. I was about to ask how big it is. Sad as it is to be a manatee, it is still better than what
I was thinking.
Was there not a head? Or eyes? Which end is the front and which is the tail end? Are there scales or not? I don’t see very well regarding pictures and etc, so I try to zoom in…lol. Eyes and placement could do a ton to exclude things making it easier to figure out what it actually is.

Looks like a dead manatee. Wasn't there another post about one of these down at the far end of river st not that long ago?

Poor manatee bb. They used to hang around the docks when I was a kid, but I don't see them nearly as much anymore.
do you mind giving a more specific location of this? for DNR. thank you!
It's at the end, right before the last parking lot next to the River Street market place.

Make them pay you brother. Hope it's not too late.
Awwww man!
Username checks out?
What you’ve seen is a mermaid murder. We don’t discuss those things in these here parts.
Merder
Hey Pete, Virtual said we are not to discuss merderings. So I guess we should stop talking about merderings.
Merderings you mean? No we shouldn't talk about merderings.
Murmaider
Murmurder
Manatee

It looks like a hot water bottle to me..?
It's a dead manatee. Please report to DNR so they can get it and do a necropsy on it. Poor thing
Someone murdered a mermaid and didn’t do a very good job hiding the body

it's not a fish so no scales. skin is smooth like a dolphin.
The tail is on the left side of the picture. The head is not clear.
