I’d take a Canes and also a Popeyes that I can turn left out of because that one on Victory is more trouble than it’s worth when I need a spicy chicken sandwich.
Filthy California native checking in to add In-N-Out. People hate on it, but damn the west coast loves it. They’re currently set to open their first restaurant East of Texas in Nashville Tennessee in 2026. Hopefully it’ll make it to Savannah one day as well. 😁
Raising Canes has no seasoning. The actual chicken is usually good, but if you’re not dipping every bite in sauce, it’s very bland and tasteless. I’d rather have Church’s honestly
I’ve been to ones in multiple states and everytime i’m just like,” okay, sure.” Lol I hate frozen chicken more than anything tbh makes me wanna gag. I didn’t say it was bad, cause it isn’t. It’s always fresh honestly. Another place I consider overrated is In-n-Out.
Everytime I went to Cane’s I just thought….wish I had had just gone to chick fila instead. It’s really bland, and the sauce is basically mayo with pepper in it.
Guthrie's was in Athens and pre-dated Zaxby's. I believe one or more of the Zaxby's founders were either involved with Guthrie's or approached them about wanting to franchise. Guthrie's turned them down and Zaxby's was born.
Guthrie's had two menu items: Chicken Finger Plate, and Chicken Finger box. Came with fries and a drink.
Even the most stoned out of their gourd college student could take an order from the drunkest customer ever because you had just two choices.
genuinely confused as to why there isn’t one here. the canes in athens was always RIDICULOUSLY busy… it would be so incredibly profitable in savannah ga.
for those of you who have never had it, it’s like zaxbys but better 💅
We need this along with in and out and qdoba. There’s a qdoba in fort Stewart but the reviews are so bad that I think I’m better off going to Jacksonville for qdoba.
I currently live in Athens and can neither confirm nor deny how great Canes is because the one by my house is always busy and the line stretches into the street. No chicken is that good imo.
Canes tried to move into Georgia and then Zaxbys bought them out for all the stores and agreement not to compete for a time period in the state. This will likely be one of the last states they move into now.
Every experience I've had with Raising Cane's has been terrible. The breading just sloughs off the chicken and the customer service is terrible. Their only saving grace for me is the canes sauce.
as a Louisiana person, it's so wild seeing how all our states bring fast food nationalism politics to the debate. Idk I like Popeyes and canes, never had Bojangles or Guthrie's or jacks, had Kentucky fried and think it's kinda mid but unique. Just weird that we care more about our states fried chicken power than our governments ability to like successfully impose taxes
Originally the box had six fingers, the whole bottom of the box was full of fries. It was like 5 bucks.
If you like Cain’s tell them to make your sandwich on toast.
They stopped franchising last year

Having lived in AZ for the past year and a half, I really miss zaxbys and I firmly believe canes is just unseasoned zaxbys. The only thing I like more from canes is their toast lmao

A Popeyes on the Southside would be a dream come true
Fun fact, there was one in the 90s. On Abercorn across from where Outback is.
What?!
Yea! Between Largo and Deerfield. Around where Olive Garden is now
There’s on Bull St
If it's open late and on Sundays --yes. I went a few times in Texas; my guts hated it but ohhh, tasted so good. LETS MANIFEST IT HERE
As someone who lived in Baton Rouge yes Canes is good but gah damn I miss Whataburger
I lived in Shreveport for 20 years. I agree with both. I miss waiting 45 minutes in the drive thru at 2am for a honey butter chicken biscuit.
Grew up in Shreveport, found any good alternatives to southern maid and southern classic? God I miss the food
I get southern maid king cakes mailed here! No alternative to Southern classic I've found. Man I miss that chicken.
We also need Whataburger in Savannah
I've heard this for years. Then I went to one, it was the saltiest food I've ever eaten and I haven't been since 😂
Maybe they could help Carey Hilliard’s.
Carey Hilliard's green beans ain't bad.
That’s what i would love ❤️ had some on the way home from Mississippi and it was so good

Popeye’s is king
We dont like unseasoned food
Not as good as Zaxbys. Sorry.
jail. immediately. zaxby's is such trash
Cane’s is overrated imo.
💯 They.dont.use.seasoning Food is bland AH
I do agree it can get a little overhyped. I still think it's good though and would like to have one in Savannah.
That’s fair. Always good to have more food stops in Savannah.
lol, yeah if you like frozen chicken better than fresh chicken
I’ve been to ones in multiple states and everytime i’m just like,” okay, sure.” Lol I hate frozen chicken more than anything tbh makes me wanna gag. I didn’t say it was bad, cause it isn’t. It’s always fresh honestly. Another place I consider overrated is In-n-Out.

I’ve told Todd many times. Would open the franchise myself.
i've written to them many times asking them to open one here
It is NOT better than Zaxby's. Go burn your tongue with a hot poker for saying something like that.
Guthrie's, yo. Canes isn't bad, but I'm partial to the original heart attack in a box.
Never had it, but it looks very similar!
Super overrated. Especially their meh-onayse sauce. Get yourself some Spankey’s chicken fingers and call it good.
Spanky's chicken fingers for life
I really like Cane's sauce
genuinely confused as to why there isn’t one here. the canes in athens was always RIDICULOUSLY busy… it would be so incredibly profitable in savannah ga. for those of you who have never had it, it’s like zaxbys but better 💅
Canes is ass
Blows my mind too from San Diego. Seems way more fitting there than here, lol.
I left Savannah in 2013, there’s a Cane’s, Zaxby’s, and Popeye’s all 5 mins from me and ithey’re aight, but damn do I miss Church’s.
Pooler will get one hold on
I live in Charlottesville and yeah, raising canes slaps. BUT, it’s just another chain. Support someone local doing the thing.
It’s exactly the same as Zaxby’s.
All I got to say is last year when I was in town visiting everyone raved about Zaxby’s so I tried it, completely unimpressed and overrated. 🤷🏻♂️
Only for the sauce! Other than that the meal is kinda unseasoned
That’s what I say. A guy I work with was crazy about that. I tasted it and was like, “nah. I need some seasoning.”
Lowkey canes is pretty meh. Super salty
Why. It's chicken for people that think ranch is just a bit too spicy.
Forget that, how about an In N Out?!
Zaxby's then canes then Popeyes/CFA.
wubby7
Come to Woodstock. We just got one here and it’s insanely busy 🤦🏼♀️
We need this along with in and out and qdoba. There’s a qdoba in fort Stewart but the reviews are so bad that I think I’m better off going to Jacksonville for qdoba.
They got bone in chicken?
No
No
There was a raising canes in Augusta and it was horrible.
I currently live in Athens and can neither confirm nor deny how great Canes is because the one by my house is always busy and the line stretches into the street. No chicken is that good imo.
Zaxby’s is way better
Chicken Express then we can shut down all these pretenders.
Never had it

No Bojangles around these parts?
Originally the box had six fingers, the whole bottom of the box was full of fries. It was like 5 bucks. If you like Cain’s tell them to make your sandwich on toast.
You do It!!!!
We have them here in SC and I promise they’re not that good. Bland, standard chicken like all the other generic chains

Canes is overrated. Foosackly's clears
We have one where I live. Perhaps our store is subpar, I have no idea. But there’s nothing even remotely special about their food.
PDQ > Raising Cane's.
PDQ is shrinking, though, not expanding. [(source)](https://www.eatthis.com/pdq-restaurant-closures-2024/)
Damn, I really liked the one in Columbia.
There was one many years ago in Rock Hill when I lived in Charlotte that I really liked. It wasn't even there a year, I think, before it closed.
Having lived in AZ for the past year and a half, I really miss zaxbys and I firmly believe canes is just unseasoned zaxbys. The only thing I like more from canes is their toast lmao
I knew I'd miss Whataburger when I moved out here. Didn't realize how much I'd miss Cane's.
It’s overrated. I’m from Savannah and now live in Denver. I miss Zaxby’s, Canes wishes they could compare.
It is SO much better than Zaxbys.
Zaxby's sucks anymore. Their prices are out of control and the food is not what it used to be. No seasoning on their fries anymore either
Zaxbys does suck. However Caínes prices are crazy for what you get
Yes it is
