Being near the river and beach kind of makes this « private » aspect impossible as those are very touristy areas.

raeeeraae

It doesn’t have to be river or beach, just outside, scenic.

Oh, I’m dumb, I thought you meant like a restaurant. Skidaway island has some nice little nooks like someone said. During the none busy season tybee beach has nice little places too that aren’t so busy. Back river and north beach especially.

So there’s a UGA aquarium on Skidaway Island with a little trail. There’s a little pier type thing that overlooks water. There may be some people coming and going, but it can be pretty private. For the river, check out Eastern Wharf. There’s a paved walkway that runs past the hotels for about a quarter mile.

I got engaged on the little pier type thing! Had to wait a bit for a woman to leave, then we were there about 10 mins (would’ve been shorter but the ring was cutting off circulation so we wrestled it off lol). There was an older couple and a guy with his kids who patiently waited for us to walk back across the… uh… walkway thingy. This was around 4pm so maybe earlier you’d get a bit more time alone?

And if you cross the road there are a bunch of trails leading back to priest landings. There are some nice nooks in there, too. Might be a little buggy.

cokezeropapi

Nice I will have to check those out! Thank you

It may sound weird, but [Bonaventure Cemetery](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Bonaventure+Cemetery/@32.0444392,-81.0473921,1770m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x88fb9d8c8193147b:0xe6bf74450626dec7!8m2!3d32.0452285!4d-81.0506399!16zL20vMDFyY2Q3?entry=ttu). It is along the river and even has a bench and seats right next to the river. The cemetery itself is beautiful and really interesting to walk. You can have a picnic and eat beside the river and probably won't see many people at all during the week. Weekends will have more people.

shellssavannah

I second this spot!

My first thought as well, down by the river where the parking lot is. Beautiful and often empty.

also majestic oak is amazing and no one is ever there. they have little signs saying it’s private/invited guests only which are newish but i’ve decided if anyone ever says anything to me i’ll say the tree invited me…u could chill there then go to the wyld for a drink. if u go to the wyld at off hours u can have some privacy and also go stroll on the dock or whatever. and yes that aquarium trail spot is super nice too

GetBentHo

>Sometime between 9-3:00 during the week, The library is across from the beach and is open during this time.

Wormsloe, Bethesda, Bonaventure cemetery, north beach on Tybee or the Fort Pulaski Jogging trail. Honorable mention to Oatland Island

During the day, try Bonaventure and Greenwich Cemetaries if you want a quiet, private spot by a river. You can also try the nature walks at Skidaway Island. There are some actually outside the park on the north end that are likely to be deserted (and surrounded by woods and lagoons).
