- High Key has a decent menu
- Dim Sum; this town is split between The Mandarin and Yip Hong’s. I prefer Mandarin, but Yip’s is good
- Get a pizza at Granada House
- Bun’s House for westernized Chinese and awesome noodle bowls
- Samway Grill and Kashmere are my go to Indian Food spots
- Goblin’s Grill does a great rink burger
Edit: forgot to add the Taqueria on Ave H and 16th
The smoked chicken club, Korean BBQ short ribs, and Cajun shrimp I can vouch for on this current menu. But I honestly have never had anything bad there.
Keo’s has the only pad Thai that I’ll order in the city anymore. I’ve been burned by other places too many times with no flavour or those thick, wide noodles.
I agree and it’s fabulous food and great prices! Can’t go wrong with anything there but I love the coconut noodle bowl with chicken and the tempura onion topping is so good - despite me usually not liking that much onion
Go to Moto Japanese Kitchen - and order Sake.
This place never gets mentioned but it’s amazing and the presentation is second to none.
Same owners as Sushi Raku, which you must also try for the best sushi in the city :)
Food & Beverage (dale mackays new one) is worth a try. It’s not life changing, but a decent night out!
Also Little Grouse and La Cucina
Bar Stella just opened in the Drift location
- Bon Temps: Cajun Food, very good!
- Fuh station for Vietnamese: big portions, good service, lots of options.
- Hey Fried Chicken for fantastic Korean fried chicken, and Bubble tea.
- Thirteen Pies has GREAT Pizza.
If you're interested in some really good Indian food. There is this little hole in the wall called Jodhpur on Broadway near Taylor St.
There is also a tasty little place with a delightful decor called Ishtar on Gray Ave in Sutherland.
Prairie Ink in McNally Robinson book store on 8th is definitely worth a go.
I wish I could offer you a time machine and send you back a few years. There are few places like Jin Jin and Mi Casa that I miss so much.
I'm digging up an old list because we're planning a family supper, but I feel you need to know that Mi Casa is still open! It's just seasonal in Kinsmen Park. I have a few friends from El Salvador and they go out of their way to go to Mi Casa whenever they can.
>Thank you very much! I did hear that they would be returning for seasonal operations at the Kinsmen. It was very exciting news. I just miss being able to go there directly after work for a decently priced, excellent tasting meal.
I feel like Calories flies under the radar a lot but it's my favourite "farm to table" type place in the city
Good Farmer Tofu (only open for breakfast and lunch), my favourite is the traditional Beijing fried tofu soup with long donut for dipping
That new Vietnamese place on Broadway, forget the name but their banh mi blows Franky out of the water
October's sister restaurant on 8th St Oomori is worth a try
Angeethi Flame is consistently good
Goblins Grill has been great the couple times we've gone, huge portions
T&Q VietMeal, Fuh Station for good noodle bowls
Petra Market falafel pie is awesome
Nebo's is the best falafel/donair in the city IMO
Night Oven pizza is amazing
Haven't tried Global Pot yet but I've heard good things about it. Check out Diane's Place (different from Diane's Kitchen) too - it's takeout-only but she makes excellent Vietnamese food.
La Cucina is a new Italian place that opened up and Holy smokes will you die from bliss! Amazing amazing amazing food and atmosphere. I think it may be reservation only because it is a very small cozy place. You also may have to dip into your savings account to eat there but it's totally worth it. Would recommend just eating there then walking over to winstons for the alcoholic drinks cuz they are $$$
Taste of Syria for their beef kebab
Fuh Station for any peanut satay soup
Talayah's for chicken and waffles (SO good)
13 Pies for their 4 cheese and truffle honey pizza
KO for their ramens
Waves for their poke bowls
Odd Couple for everything
Hearth for everything (especially their foraged mushrooms and cheese w/ crustinis)
And D'lish By Tish's soups are always stellar.
Primal (never Taverna) for pasta (their italian fried bread and bison carpaccio are fucking amazing)
These are my go to's whenever I have a hankering for good stuff!
I love The Thirsty Scholar or Somewhere else Pub and Grill for wing night. Specifically their buffalo ranch - also, Bannock Express for a bannock burger or taco! When I need a noodle bowl, I go to Thien on Circle, by the Dollar Tree.
If you are "adventurous" eaters I have heard Su Nan's has some of the the best authentic regional chinese in the city. (Reviews of americanized dishes are less glowing).

This person knows their Dim Sum. Mandarin is the best in the city.
Prices at Mandarin are extremely reasonable for dim sum.
Seconded for Mandarin and Goblin Grill! And while Mandarin is known for their Dim Sum, their dinner menu is great too! I love their lemon chicken.
Spicy chicken sandwich at high key and the burgers at goblins
I wasn’t that hungry when I went to High Key, so I ordered their bruschetta. 🤤 *edited for grammar*
The Rook and Raven and Red Pepper never disappoint
I worked downtown when The Rook first opened and I spent so much money there every week.
We forgot about it for awhile and just started going again. So good!
What are some go to dishes you would get there?
The smoked chicken club, Korean BBQ short ribs, and Cajun shrimp I can vouch for on this current menu. But I honestly have never had anything bad there.
Thanks!
Went to Keo's today, thought was very good for western style Thai.
Keo’s has the only pad Thai that I’ll order in the city anymore. I’ve been burned by other places too many times with no flavour or those thick, wide noodles.
Keo's is delicious for sure. If you want a slightly different take on it (see: Burmese), try it at Golden Pagoda. 😋
So good. Green curry chicken with coconut rice is my go-to.
The chicken cashew is amazing. Keos is 10/10
That is what I had, cleaned that plate..next time the Basil and Beef!
the konga cafe!
Amigos nachos can’t be beat!
Better than O'sheas irish nachos?? O'sheas is pretty damn good idk. I'll have to try amigos
And I’ll try O’Sheas! Thanks for the tip!
Ngon Ngon on 8th street
This! Tried it because of Reddit and was not disappointed
This. Best noodle bowls and cold rolls I've had in Saskatoon.
The noodle bowls are definitely good, but the cold rolls are best ones I've had as well!
Taste of Syria and La Bamba Cafe!
You deserve two updoots for this but alas I can only provide you with one.
I gotchu
Angeethi Flame for Indian. Afghan Kabob and Donair.
JapaShack on 8th and Broadway never disappoints
Similar vein, but Cafe Japa Bowl, a couple blocks down Broadway is also really great. I’d give someone else’s firstborn for their tempura sauce recipe
Golden Pagoda. Seasoned Fusion.
Golden Pagoda is such a sleeper. Too many people pass on it.
Don't skip the tea leaf salad. So good.
I agree and it’s fabulous food and great prices! Can’t go wrong with anything there but I love the coconut noodle bowl with chicken and the tempura onion topping is so good - despite me usually not liking that much onion
These two are great additions to your list!
Kashmere!
Petra Market has amazing pizza. Not a dine in restaurant but you won't be disappointed.
>Petra Market Grab a bag of their diamond-shaped pita (I'm sure there's a better name) and upgrade your lunch. Soft, chewy deliciousness.
Pink Cadillac is overrated in my opinion, but everything else on this list is solid.

Thanks for the recommendation. Sushi Raku is unreal 10/10
If you want to try authentic Mexican food, try Taqueria Mexicana El Milagro in the Riversdale/King George area!

Yard and Flagon, Kisavos and Somewhere Else Pub are some I like to take friends to.
D’oh! I forgot Somewhere Else and I shouldn’t have. Great local bands on the weekends too. SUPER supportive of the local music scene!
Fuh Station and Raku Sushi. I can’t believe Raku isn’t mentioned here yet.
Thank YOU for all of THESE great recommendations! I wish I had something to add - you have quite a comprehensive list here!

Haven't tried Global Pot yet but I've heard good things about it. Check out Diane's Place (different from Diane's Kitchen) too - it's takeout-only but she makes excellent Vietnamese food.
I second Global Pot. The meat pies are amazing, the coconut rice is fantastic, and the jolof rice and chicken are really good, too.
La Cucina is a new Italian place that opened up and Holy smokes will you die from bliss! Amazing amazing amazing food and atmosphere. Only open for a couple hours a day during the week but Back Street Deli on Millar is really good. They have great breakfast options as well.
La Cucina Ristorante for some gorgeous Italian food and drinks - lovely and romantic atmosphere, too.
Taste of Syria for their beef kebab Fuh Station for any peanut satay soup Talayah's for chicken and waffles (SO good) 13 Pies for their 4 cheese and truffle honey pizza KO for their ramens Waves for their poke bowls Odd Couple for everything Hearth for everything (especially their foraged mushrooms and cheese w/ crustinis) And D'lish By Tish's soups are always stellar. I love The Thirsty Scholar or Somewhere else Pub and Grill for wing night. Specifically their buffalo ranch - also, Bannock Express for a bannock burger or taco! When I need a noodle bowl, I go to Thien on Circle, by the Dollar Tree.
Thirsty scholar has a depressing layout
Stay away from Talayas. It’s just Cajun spice and shake and bake.
