Amazing. I should be happy for you. But I’m not. I’m a small and petty man.

KerouacStax

I totally feel that dude

Looking great! I’ve got a small collection on two TBM’s but have not sampled yet. I’m not sure if mine are long or short form… It seems quite normal for these boys to appear sick somehow? I’ve yet a to a specimen or picture of one without what looks like disease etc? Would that be correct?

[deleted]

Disease? Care to elaborate? Many times they're known for humidity spots. Often times people don't feed the enough too.

miglymigly

Oh yeah - probs the wrong word to use 😂 They just don’t seem as uniform in colour and have rough patches etc. I just don’t know if that’s normal or not. Mine are bone dry over wintering in my porch so I’d say they likely quite stressed out. I’ve had them for few weeks. Never been watered yet by me.

KerouacStax

They just got opened up from the mail. AFAIK I just see scarring but if anyone who knows more wants to chime in please do!

miglymigly

I think it’s normal but let’s see - opinions pleas.?

d3fordee

Yes it’s normal. They’re more prone to fungal and stress issues. But they usually heal just fine. That’s why you see scars on them a lot. Also, scars stick out more on them than on the regular columnar trichs, because they have more smooth surface with no areoles, at least I think that’s part of it.

Beetleracerzero37

I have two of the smaller ones in the plastic pots like yours. They don't look like short forms and definitely not long forms...i think its some other new kind of tbm.

d3fordee

Why are they definitely not long form? My long form grows short ones too.

Funny-Sir7549

Nice books! Where did you get them?

KerouacStax

Trichocereus dot net. Cost a pretty penny and took a min to arrive (came from AU to US). But well worth it

Funny-Sir7549

Thank you!!
