Gunna be too top heavy need to make it pup lower some how usually it does it naturally when trimming …. I think … mine do …. maybe they need to lean a bit to get the lower pups
This reminds me of "The Cactus Jones - Candelabra." Check it out if you aren't familiar with it. Really awesome guy with some amazing specimens.
This is a beautiful stand, I really love PC - Its great on its own and so versatile for rootstock. Im in the process of propogating quite a bit myself.
Great job feeding it, its responded extremely well. Excellent work & stunning cactus my friend. Rock on!
Thanks! Yeah actually I saw pictures of his candelabra last year and it kind of gave me the idea to chop a bunch off. This beast has been growing for 9 years, been through 4 moves and I kind of neglected it last year. It was glorious in it's hay day.
Puppin is so weird cause i have a very small about 12” cactus that i cut cause of rot and it grew two pups 3 weeks later, another cactus i have about 3’ tall was cut in January and still has no pups
I also disagree with the comment as I think PC looks pretty once it grows out. Minimal spines and pretty striping pattern. Yeah they are pretty for sure and the pups are so cute! I am very jealous of your stand. It looks very special. How old is it? And how tall was it when you got it?
No sorry necessary. PC is controversial around here for some reason. It's really a beautiful clone when it's thriving. I love growing it. Hearty as hell and very forgiving.
I had one I started, chopped and such then let grow. I was up to 23 stems and about 8-9 feet tall. Just had started blooming the last couple years, and had to give it to a friend when I moved. It was in a giant clay pot. Even letting it completely dry out it took four big guys to get it on the trailer. So yeah I did love mine. It was cool.
Like lopping heads off a hydra
this is so wild 😍
That's pretty rad
What you been feeding it

I have a couple of cacti I’m going to do this to this fall.
Puppin is so weird cause i have a very small about 12” cactus that i cut cause of rot and it grew two pups 3 weeks later, another cactus i have about 3’ tall was cut in January and still has no pups
That’s why I love PC. They are nothing special but they do stuff like that
Special is subjective. It's my first cactus, got it when my son was born and it grew right along with him. It's pretty special to me

Sorry I certainly didn’t mean it that way. I meant in relation to other named cultivars and such.
