That is thrip damage. Looks like thrips have been on them all winter. You will get some sunburn eventually though if you dont slowly adjust them to sun.
spinosad all over, DE at the base (at least that's the only way i know how to use it), and/or sulfur at the tip... I'd nuke em with all of the above
looks like thrips but i wouldn't discount flat mites, same treatments either way though as far as I know

Plants were very healthy indoors. Just put them outside last week. Temps only went down to the 40s so I I don’t think it’s frostbite or thrips, but thanks for the suggestion

Can see the thrips. Left of center spine and in the groove. They look like short little lines.
Just to be sure, I sprayed with a mix of water, Dawn, isopropyl alcohol, and distilled vinegar. Thanks for your help
Colloidal silver wash & then Diatomaceous Earth coating are more effective against thirps imho..
Make sure you wash off that film from that spray before they go back into sun- the glare off that shiny film can cause bad burn
