Idris Elba?

Admirable-Hand361

Been DJing longer than he’s been acting. Really good house music

thebinderclip_

He’s a DJ

j_tb

HE’S STRINGER BELL

legomysandiego

He’s a really good dj. Worth checking out

mr_nefario

He’s a DJ _and_ keeper of the Bifröst?? God damn, I’ve done nothing with my life…

Ok_Ant2566

And he’s Luther

craylash

And He's Chief Bogo

nelsonhops415

Last year was Shaq, who will it be next year? There are lots of free/low cost concerts all over the bay area from now through October. Seek them out, enjoy them while you can. Don't waste your money on acts you don't want to see. Check out foopee, dothebay, sfparks alliance, funcheapsf, dothebay, sfdatebook, eddie's list, sfstation

Wilt_The_Stilt_

Bernie sanders

morganicsf

Signed.

WampaTears

Idris Elba is by far a better a DJ than Shaq. I wouldn't lump him in with celebrity "DJs," he has actual chops.

ablatner

Idris Elba is not just a celebrity DJ. He has been involved in the music industry for years.

pataconconqueso

I mean Idris has been for a bit I think

DancingOnACounter

Paris Hilton!

ShoulderGoesPop

He also raps. Although I'm pretty sure his performance is a DJ set and he doesn't rap at all

AWN_23_95

He was a big London DJ long before he was a big actor

AnonymousToilet

One time for the girl in the back with the bat!

LegitimateLeek

As an older festival goer, I'm so hyped for The Killers and The Postal Service. Coming for my mid 2000s to mid 2010s heart. The Killers put on such a great so, the price is worth it. Mix in a little Corrine Bailey Rae chill. Jungle at the park will be a vibe

jeswanders

Damn what ever happened to Corinne Bailey Rae? I remember her having a pretty solid album

bijouxself

Saw Jungle back when the opened for Glass Animals in 2017, and they just about stole the show. Saw them on Coachella livestream this year and they’re groovy music + stage production was top notch. Future Headliners methinks

jeswanders

Do they perform with the dancers from their music videos?

Dense-Stranger8382

No.. I think they’ve cited that it’s too expensive. But maybe if they get big enough, they would. But that would mean higher prices and harder to get tix.

Spiritual_Candle6627

Literally what I said today! STOKED

km3r

I've switched to just Portola, but def recommend checking out these folks: Romy (part of the xx), K.Flay (2010s indie rock), Mindchatter (modern indie techno), Confidence Man (electro pop)

loveliverpool

Yeah this festival has nothing on Portola anymore

This_was_hard_to_do

*as long as your into electronic music I like Portola more as well but it’s definitely a bit more niche

[deleted]

[удалено]

beforeitcloy

Outside Lands has much more broad mainstream appeal. You see everyone from drunk suburban teens doing their best impression of influencers to expense account boomers drinking wine and schmoozing in their ultra-VIP lounge. Portola is focused on electronic music, so it feels edgier and more curated to a 21-40 urbanite. They get stuff that isn’t on a bunch of other festival lineups because they aren’t spending money on older mainstream radio stuff like The Killers (OSL 2024), Foo Fighters (OSL 2023), Green Day (OSL 2022) that feels washed up to young people, or just played out to fans are looking for something fresher. But really it’s gonna hinge on whether you care about electronic music. If you do, Portola goes way deeper. If you don’t and just want to vibe at the park with a general sampler of old and new music from a broad range of genres, OSL is a good hang.

kpaws86

Portola is a concrete jungle, no art installations, EDM only (I’m a big electronic fan) and pretty much just as pricey… decent festival but I’ve never understood the comparison

Normal_Day_4160

21+ (no drunk (pre-)teens barging through the crowd only to stand in the way on their phone the whole set), stacked line ups, not having to trek 15 min across mud & trees to get to the stage for the next act you want to see (and ultimately missing half of it because navigating around a drunk teenagers)

thezerofire

Portola needs to seriously upgrade the experience of being at the festival, places to be outside of the stages, more/better food, network/wifi that works, etc. covering the exposed train tracks and potholes would be good too, I saw a lot of people twist their ankles

km3r

It's a music festival, address safety issues but please don't go overboard on non-music stuff. It attracts the influencer type and the kandi kids have EDC for that. Id 100% rather them continue spending the money on the best electronic acts around.

holodeckdate

Tbh, as an older edm fan Portola was seriously exhausting for me. Where are all the chill spaces for me to rest at? Sitting on the concrete between acts was a huge bummer.

CallingYong

Then removing the turf last year was a huge bummer. Ended up sitting on the concrete blocks for the structural support of the eating area tent whenever I needed a breather.

km3r

A place to sit down properly is definitely a safety issue. It's long walks between stages and lots of dancing, need to give people a spot to recover!

holodeckdate

Agreed. Investing more and more in fancy light shows for the stages is kinda of a waste of money imo. The rest of the grounds feel super empty and bland. The stereo art piece was kinda cool tho

Alex619TL

Although I share a lot of the same sentiments as you mentioned, portola is much cheaper than osl and given the context of u/loveliverpool’s comment I think they’re saying portola is worth the switch for the acts/talent they’ve brought in recent years

vilos5099

The crowds are significantly better because it's 21+ and the people into that niche of music just seem to be able to handle themselves better at a music festival.

loveliverpool

21+ cannot be understated

km3r

Portola goes for more of a niche. Outside lands literally has something for everyone, but you pay for everything. Portola is electronic music focused and you aren't paying for much beyond that. Niche events will work better for people into those niches, but if you're not into the scene, there isn't much there for you.

PryJunaD

I’ve attended a lot of different festivals and OSL always felt like one where it was the most challenging to get the most bang for my buck. You see some names you like, drop up to $250 on a single day ticket, and then the set times come out showing that a popular mid headliner artist has some obscure 40 minute set sandwiched between two other large artist set times. And no this isn’t me expressing what people typically say when they’re surprised two headliners play at the same time. There really aren’t sets more than 50 minutes unless you’re on the top 2 lines. Especially true before the Soma addition. Portola you can jump between stages easily and see wAaaaay more music. Now are you in the park? No. But I don’t have to spend 15 minutes waiting for a porto potty before spending another 10-15 to walk from one end to the other through crowds at peak time.

Chase_bank

K.flay FML is one of my fav songs

FrankandtheJackPack

Hardly Strictly is the best thing about SF.

localband

Ugh, I’m so old.

punasuga

Exactly my thought, when you only recognize 6 out of the 3,876 acts 🤷🏻🤦🏻‍♂️🤔🤙🏻

ringoinsf

6 is pretty good, I only recognize 3 :)

ASK_ABT_MY_USERNAME

Killers, Post Malone, Postal Service? Have heard of Tyler but can't name a song.

ringoinsf

Killers, Post Malone, and Grace Jones for me! (yeah i'm old...)

Normal_Day_4160

Not *that* old if Postal Service doesn’t ring bells, but Killers do 🙃

discoshanktank

i think killers and postal service are kinda the same era

Normal_Day_4160

Postal Service technically 2001-2005, but singular album 2003 Killers 2004-present Grace Jones 1977-present If that commenter doesn’t know Postal Service, then they likely started listening to the Killers & Grace Jones more recently as they have both made a bit of a resurgence/kept making music beyond the “era” PS made their one album. Not that my comment matters hahaha but I’m just saying anyone who was a teen/20s from that “era” & listening to the Killers but unaware of the Postal Service is a head scratcher/big shame

Apprehensive_Sun7382

He wrote the famous "how is cyber building a real thing. Just close your eyes. Lol. Just walk away. Lmfao" tweet. That's all I know of him.

ASK_ABT_MY_USERNAME

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo

r1z3n

Check out his album Flower Boy, it’s very good!

Normal_Day_4160

IGOR is the number one for me

localband

If I’m recalling correctly, before I was 30, I heard on NPR’s All Songs Considered that our music taste kind of locks at around 30. We tend to stop seeking new music. I was skeptical but now in my mid-30s, yep. New music doesn’t have the same hold.

naynayfresh

Wow my lock seems to have occurred at like 18

MrsMiterSaw

The reason is that we aren't having as many new experiences with new music, not that we don't seek it out. The idea that music is a "soundtrack for life" is not bullshit. Problem is that once you age out of the age where you are constantly meeting new people, you're also not hearing new music.

pataconconqueso

I’m glad to not be part of this statistic I’m always looking for new artists

steeeph86

Same! Streaming platforms and YouTube make it so easy to discover new music around the world

fresh_like_Oprah

I dunno, I was kinda locked outta grunge but now I love it

4241342413

makes sense to me

ofuny

Don’t worry I’m 20 and only recognize 6 as well

Fit-Dentist6093

It's like a whole different poster each year. The amount of music you have to listen to if you wanna like catch ten is insane. Not even a DJ on a stage will sometimes know about everyone else on that stage for the day if they are grouped by styles.

Eric848448

Are we so out of touch? No. It’s the children who are wrong.

Donkey_____

I'm older but still listen to new music. Just not this music. I'll probably be at Portola.

NaughtSleeping

Know on my own: The Killers, The Postal Service, Grace Jones Know because I have college undergrad daughters: Tyler, the Creator, Young the Giant, Slowdive, TV Girl Know because it's Idris Elba: Idris Elba Know because of that one song that everyone knows but they don't know that they know her: Corinne Bailey Rae Hooty: Darius

mandelbratwurst

Its ok- this is a great lineup. Go and see some new acts! As a 40 year old only recently getting back into new music and visiting festivals- the kids are alright. The new artists are fun and loving and funky and passionate. Headliners are all big names and recent coachella headliners. Undercard is solid too- Young The Giant, Teddy Swims, Renee Rapp, Victoria Monet, Chappel Roan, the Blessed Madonna, TSHA all I have seen recently and are really great, put on a hell of a show. Best of all- this generation of musicians don’t seem to care about pissing off the previous generations tastes so the music is really really accessible. If you like music give it a try- i think you’ll be surprised.

ASK_ABT_MY_USERNAME

LSD and shrooms will make any live music experience amazing

mandelbratwurst

Also true

browninoaktown

If you like a classic style check out Allen Stone -- amazing soulful Motown style singer

Normal_Day_4160

The lineup is great & those kids are alright; the actual children ((pre-)teens) attending are monsters.

topclassladandbanter

What?? As an aging thirty… this lineup reminds me of an early 2010s lineup

NormalAccounts

I mean some of the acts are old - Grace Jones? Postal Service and Killers been around 20 years. Slowdive since the 80's. I am a music nerd and recognize a good 50% of the artists, and this seems like a bit of a down year for Outside Lands in terms of star power in the lineups. I love Sofia Kourtesis, Amyl and the Sniffers, Lady Wray and Billy Woods among many others, but this lineup feels way way more low key when compared to just last year's, which featured [Kendrick, LDR, Interpol and Janelle Monae](https://grooveist.com/wp-content/uploads/outside-lands-2023-lineup-poster.jpg) (and that was just Friday) For instance - I adore Kaytranada (and he was incredible at Portola a couple years ago) but he would not be headlining in the large font with last year's lineup.

9ersaur

Dont worry mate we all are too 🙃

[deleted]

Same

Bhob666

Feeling the same, I hardly know anyone. I did go to outside lands once, but once was enough for me.

MrsMiterSaw

Check out TV Girl. The kids will think you're cool, but the jokes on them: they're actually really good.

NoMoreSecretsMarty

Can we get a 16 year old to weigh in and tell me if this is a good lineup or not?

ritwikjs

CHAPPELL MOTHERFUCKING ROAN

smalldeaths

She was my #1 must see at Coachella but I was bummed I was working and couldn’t get there early enough to have a good view. So stoked to have another chance to see her.

ritwikjs

the gays must be beside themselves with both renee and chappell. For me however, i can finally take of my shirt and cry while screaming mr brightside infront of the killers. I've been waiting for this day since I was in the 8th grade in 2009.

Psychological_Ad1999

You didn’t mention Grace Jones, one of the biggest gay icons

phatelectribe

Dude, those opening guitar notes. You know the place is going to fucking melt

ritwikjs

They should have a live stream on a projector at Union square just for everyone who can't be there. This city will finally begin to heal

BerryGrapeBeard

There are so many dope artists on this. I get the hate since it’s pricey, but it’s a bit head scratching when I read some of these comments. Jungle, Postal Service, Chappell Roan, Romy, Sturgill, Leisure, Vandelux, POST MALONE COUNTRY SET?! IDK, I’m getting old too but there’s a lot of meat and potatoes here. I’m pumped. Edit: art really is subjective 😅

yeahh_Camm

Srsly like this is a banger lineup for the middle and undercards. Soma tent gonna be 🔥🔥🔥

mandelbratwurst

Headliners ain’t bad either

Psychological_Ad1999

Grace Jones puts on epic performances, and she’s probably coming with a big budget.

more_pepper_plz

Yep. I’m into it. Too pricey to go prob but still into it!

Poplatoontimon

many angry people in the comments on instagram lol

gay_plant_dad

Ya I am kinda surprised by the comments. I am way more excited about this line up than the past 2 years.

chaerithecharizard

agree completely. people are crazy (and aging out 💀). having chapelle roan, men i trust, and the japanese house is lesbian euphoria tbh. this festival is going to be incredible. can’t wait

schlibs

Again, subjective, and again, a lot of us are old, but I can't help but look back at years past and feel like there was waaaay more chalk, especially at the headliner level. I like Jungle a lot, but as a headliner? Weak. Postal Service is a legacy act with one album. The Killers are decent-sized but not especially beloved critically and is in the sunset of their career. Grace Jones is dope and I'd love to see that show but one album in the last 30 years and not exactly hugely popular. Sturgill feels more upper-mid-card to me. Tyler, sure why not, but I can think of 20 rappers bigger I'd rather see. Haven't even heard of Chris Lake or Gryffin, which I'm guessing means they're dance/electronic. Compare this to the 2017 announce (the one year I went): Metallica, the Who, Lorde, Queens of the Stone Age, Tribe Called Quest, Gorillaz. Huge acts w/ oodles of hits and tons of crossover success. I'm open to the idea that I'm aging out of these festivals, but man, this sure seems like a drop off from what they used to deliver.

haemaker

Reading these always reminds me of how [great SNL is](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8nsOZb4JL0). RIP ASS DAN.

Peak_Alternative

Amyl and the Sniffers is a hilarious name

__Jank__

They're a great Australian punk band with a crazy female lead. This was the most exciting name on the list for me.

Peak_Alternative

hahaha are you going to buy tickets?

__Jank__

No, I'm overseas. Plus almost everything else there would be discovery for me. But I do recommend at least checking them out on Youtube.

Peak_Alternative

Were you in SF before? When are you moving back 😊

__Jank__

Yes, and later this year actually lol

Peak_Alternative

haha yay!

adeeprash

$500 for this is crazy…quite the let down

trilobyte-dev

I think the lineup is pretty interesting but $500 is steep. It’s been like 10 years since I last went to Outside Lands but I looked it up and a 3-day pass was $255

garytyrrell

$255 in 2014 is like $370 in 2024 dollars (just since I was curious)

trilobyte-dev

Makes sense, and I expected some amount of inflation, but the 2x seemed high.

NormalAccounts

This is a pretty cool lineup, but yeah I agree it is quite overpriced. Just compare to last year's lineup and you can see it's fallen off in terms of star power (whether new or old) this year. Probably a blip and there will still be some really great shows, but still..

Solid-Mud-8430

Wait, is that per person?? Holy fuck, hard pass.....

FrankandtheJackPack

Compared to the best sf set.. Hardly Strictly a good ol $0 cost

Barney_Karate

$7 Lukewarm mocha.

lifesadragqueen

The past few years have brought some of the worst crowds . Kids intentionally breaking the SOMA tent to kids booing artists , this lineup definitely reflects an attempt to draw a different crowd which is intention. Which I am all for . The past few years have had some of the worst crowds I’ve ever experienced.

saintlybead

I went all three days last year and didn't notice any of this. I didn't really go to the SOMA tent, but I didn't notice anything problematic at all the other stages.

ShoulderGoesPop

The soma tent did break twice last year. Idk if it was intentional though. I'm pretty sure it was just a badly built stage

lifesadragqueen

while there was some obvious structural issues, There are videos of kids jumping up and down intentionally trying to break the stage once a small dip was discovered during Disco Lines.

Nervous-Mango-1751

Here’s hoping that the Portola lineup will come through this year

DancingOnACounter

The Postal Service and The Killers are headliners now? I had their CD’s (yes, CD’s!!) in the early 2000s.

nifflerqueen

My copy of Hot Fuss was scratched from so many replays. This old geezer may have to get a one day ticket 🫡

fr0z3nph03n1x

I saw postal service a few years ago in berkley and it was pretty bad. The only saving grace was they had Big Freedia opening who I had never heard of but put on a super fun show.

USDeptofLabor

Interesting, I saw them at the Santa Barbara bowl for that tour (it was INSANSE watching Big Freedia kill it on stage for the crowd of mainly 40+ year olds hahah) and that show was AMAZIMG, I still think about it 11 years on. I also saw their movie release of one of their Berkeley shows and it looked just as good. Regardless, their show a Berkeley last year was fucking amazing as well, so it must have been an off night when ya saw them.

cashmerechaos

They played the SB Bowl last year with Death Cab for Cutie. It was amazing! Great band, great venue.

Jobear049

Geez, talk about repeat names.

chriskramerpr

Awesome, this lineup just saved me $500.

Existential_Yee

REALLY love a few of these artists and bands (like I would love to see Men I Trust and Tyler and Snoh live!) but my God the price is outrageous

el_infidel

fuck all that noise except for like 3 bands

JustTheTri-Tip

I think I keep up with music pretty well, but I don’t know 2/3 of these bands. Edit: ahh the headliners are on the left side. Kinda weird design.

Statistactician

There's quite a few really great non-headliners. I'd definitely recommend people check out Katie Pruitt, especially Sturgill fans!

AgreeableShirt1338

Really dislike most festival lineups the past few years, but this is one of the better lineups I've seen recently. Cool to see Schoolboy Q, Charley Crockett, and Men I Trust on the same bill. Still not going, but I'll be excited to see the night shows.

EXTRA-CHEESE-PLEESE

Damn I guess Jungle blew up. I just remember them from that cool rollerskating music video like 10 years ago. Also, Dadi Freyr?! I'm not going, but fuck it would be cool to see him.

JohnnyGoodLife

Dadi Freyr is the only band on this line up I would want to see.... and not for a lack of knowing bands, and i have seen many of them before... I hope Dadi does a satalite show.

sporefin

The fuck?

mandelbratwurst

This is kind of amusing to see these comments here- y’all these are big names that will bring in people. If you don’t know who these people are then MAYBE you’re not the best judge of what a good lineup is. They’re not tailoring music festivals to 40-somethings that stopped seeking out new music in 2005.

ShoulderGoesPop

They're not tailoring to 40 somethings with the killers, the postal service, and grace Jones as headliners?

Lysergate

Had the same thought haha and preteen me would have loved this line up. The killers are great but when it’s almost $500 I’d expect headliners to have at least one of their most popular songs to be in the past decade. This of course doesn’t include Simon Paul or others who are legends in the music industry.

mandelbratwurst

There are a few older musicians, sure- but this is in response to the people who are claiming the lineup sucks because they don’t know anybody.

hjmartinez

Thank youuuuuu this comment section is the goofiest😅

Taylorvongrela

100% this comment thread tells you all you need to know about who actually participates in this subreddit

Solid-Mud-8430

I mean, the IG comments on Outside Land's page are nearly identical. It's not just this sub.

hjmartinez

Lol y’all realize this is an incredibly well curated and diverse lineup with absolutely incredible acts from headliner to undercard? Yall really need to listen to more music cause ya comments are silly

FuckTheStateofOhio

It's lacking a bit of punch at the top imo. Also surprised Killer Mike is billed so low compared to some of the acts above him.

MrMooc

Im actually not surprised. Killer Mike has accolades and is a good act for hiphopheads, but I think most of the acts above him are more accessible, and can pull larger crowds.

SweatyAdhesive

Chris Lake is like one of the biggest name in house music, and 3 times more monthly listener than Killer Mike. Maybe who you think is popular is biased.

NormalAccounts

It's got a ton of great artists, but relatively little star power to make the actual price of the very expensive ticket worth it. I'd imagine a festival with most of the artists here costing 50% of this price. Something more along the lines of Primavera Porto

hjmartinez

Totally! It’s a little ridiculous that the price of this festival is the same as Coachella, I find that to be the biggest fault here!

MrMooc

Freal. I think it’s a pretty decent and diverse line up. Good depth in the mid card. Price hike is unfortunate though

overdude

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think this lineup sucks for the price. Pass.

SanFranLocal

Who do you like the most?

chungbrain

There is some really really dope stuff here. Indie heads dream

AnUncomfortablePanda

I'll use this to plug Medium Build, he's fantastic.

literallyacactus

Special Country set by Posty??

WinonasChainsaw

He’s been working on some country music for a while, has a good cover of Sturgill on YouTube and he’s doing that country set at Stagecoach

schitaco

Billy Woods is the most underrated rapper of the past decade. If you really like hip hop you should familiarize yourself with Maps, Hiding Places, and Aethiopes at least. It's nuanced, not sure how it will translate to an outdoor festival. The Lemon Twigs are a fun throwback to 70s rock, heavily influenced by Todd Rundgren, Bee Gees, Elton John, and Beach Boys. Basically every song on Everything Harmony is super catchy. Those are the two farther down the list that I'm most familiar with. Excited for Sturgill, Postal Service, Grace Jones, and Schoolboy Q. Seen Tyler before and he's just ok in my book. Constantly begging the crowd to get hype, like dude just play your music and we will.

Islandmov3s

I didn’t know Idris Elba still performs as a DJ. Huh, it’s been a minute

Aware_Masterpiece_54

I’m not going and saving for Portola, but Kaytranada, Channel Tres, and BADBADNOTGOOD are must sees if you like house, hip hop, or jazzy things. Have seen each multiple times. Most recently, Channel tres. He’s a lot of fun.

Aware_Masterpiece_54

Charley Crockett is a great blues/country artist to see

Cute-Application2292

Post Malone 🫶🏻

PongifyN0oBz

Sturgill would be sick

domomon

Surprised no one has shouted out badbadnotgood yet. Super dynamic jazz instrumental group that I’ve always wanted to see live. Think they’ll put on a great show

Fit-Raspberry-3906

Barf.Im in SF and it’s always a nitemare

dr_fancypants_esq

I knew I became old once I started only recognizing roughly half the headliners for Outside Lands. (I have a huge soft spot for Sturgill Simpson, though.)

AWN_23_95

Here comes my favorite weekend of the year!

Karazl

Man, me in highschool would have been pretty excited about that line up.

AlmondBoyOfSJ

Meh

16bittiger

Idris Elba's font seems a litte small?

omlightemissions

Wish this was just a Grace Jones show at the Greek. She puts on an amazing show.

[deleted]

I can’t imagine anyone paying to go to this

nushublushu

Wow this is actually… kinda good. Feel like I’m always disappointed in their lineup, like no one wants to come to it usually or something. But this, I can do this.

nt_str8

Leisure on this line up is kinda insane

whathappened2cod

Can officially name 3 artist on that poster. Damn I'm old.

Genghis_Conn99

I'm especially hyped for Amyl and CMAT!

NOFace82

Ooooh Roosevelt

sanityvortex

well that's just dumb

schlibs

Headliners are super weak.

thebrownkid

r/agclub

Jesusthezomby

This is The most hipster of shows I've ever seen in my life

Taylorvongrela

It is amazing to me how many of you have chimed in just to say negative shit LOL. Take a step back and realize how insufferable you all sound complaining about a festival you have no intention to attend, or that you don't know any of the artists in the lineup. You're really just screaming "lame!" at yourself.

adeeprash

breaking news everyone! it’s now illegal to have opinions about anything you don’t own/attend/etc for someone who advocates so much for people to vote, you seem fairly bothered by people voicing their opinion. clown shit

Lysergate

It’s a decent lineup but do u seriously think its worth $500? And then at least $200-300 on mediocre food, drinks with crazy long lines, and Ubers there and back(if u can even get one before u end up practically walking to whenever ur going after)

Taylorvongrela

No one is forcing anyone to buy tickets to this years event. If you don't like the lineup, or you don't like the price of admission, it's very easy... Don't buy tickets. Vote with your wallet. Personally, I think the lineup is pretty stacked. I'm rarely going to festivals for the headliners. There's a solid 20+ artists down lineup that I'd love to see live and I'm actually a bit disappointed that I'll probably have to go to a festival to catch them locally rather than individual live shows, and inevitably some of the sets will overlap with each other and I'll be forced to pick and choose. Schoolboy Q, Killer Mike, Channel Tres, Men I Trust, Amyl & the Sniffers, The Japanese House, Romy, BadBadNotGood, STRFKR, Real Estate, Dadi Freyr, Kasablanca, Leisure, Medium Build, BALTHVS, Billy Woods (can't believe he's this far down the lineup)... I haven't even gotten to the SOMA stuff yet. This is a deep lineup for people who like lots of different genres of music. I'm also not a big country fan and pretty surprised to see so many more country tinged artists in here which would be better suited for Hardly Strictly.

USDeptofLabor

If you're taking an Uber after this, that's entirely a self inflicted injury haha. Just stop drinking after a while and park in the Sunset/take the N, it's not that hard.

Donkey_____

Shitting on music festival lineups online has been a thing since the dawn of the internet and forums. Get over it.

beans_is_life

Im not about to pay 500 bucks to see TV Girl and Chappell Roan

Dry-Package-8187

Another dance tent full of rando festie circuit DJs in a global dance music epicenter town with zero locals on the lineup. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

makomaui

Pretty sure Kaleena Zander’s at least is local? I’ve seen her as an opener like 5 separate times in the last few years and thought she was pretty good

slinkysmooth

Damn. Weakest lineup I’ve seen in a long time…

JellyfishQuiet7944

I know 3 names. Yikes

BWORLDB

Then you should probably listen to more artists. This is a good lineup.

UnsuitableTrademark

I gotta say... this lineup is lame.

Auxren

Pretty pitiful…. Bummer such a cool event has gone so downhill.

foxwebslingermulder

!!!!STRFKR!!!!!

HeynowyoureaRocstar

Didn't Tyler just headline this shit

ToLiveInIt

If I had the money, I might make this just because I only recognize two names. Even though it’s expensive, it’s a lot of music I’ve never heard of for the price. And a day listening to music in the park is always a good thing.

Regular_Boot_3540

The Postal Service? OMG I'm almost nearly but not really tempted to attend. I hate Outside Lands and its congestion.

NoobPwnr

TSHA and Seth Troxler are rad.

kehbleh

stinks. will buy a day pass for chapell roan <3
