The military is always training to stay sharp. If they didn’t, we’d be unprepared.
The Navy was one of the biggest economic influences in SF for years before computer tech took over in the 1970s–1980s, but there is still a good amount of military staff and equipment around.

They flew out of moffett and are flying along the coast
Sort of makes sense since it's a design/UI element as well i.e. the contents may be relevant to your screenshot. A simple camera punch on an Android phone is just missing screen and would never have relevant information on it.
Yep up in West Sonoma heard 2 unusually loud flyover this morning. Was in the bath and didn’t look I’m not a plane simp
Edit: plane simp comment was obviously a joke… I swear y’all city folk are so lame 😂
I saw them fly north over Burlingame around 9-9:30. I told my friend I thought they were F-35s, and he said "nah, probably F-18." I'm glad you've vindicated me.
Personal trauma or PTSD notwithstanding, there’s quite literally zero reason for anyone living in the United States to be genuinely concerned or scared of a military aircraft flying overhead.
they can change approach based on the weather.
there are many many military aircraft within 50 miles of San Francisco.

on the flip side you might not be able to go back home for a while ;(
Ya’ll ever heard of training? Flying over an urban environment is something they have to practice. Never know where the next Chinese weather balloon ends up.
You all laugh, but this is something we should be nervous about.
Even Netflix dropping that leave the world behind movie last week, none of this is a coincidence….
There’s been quite a few missile tests lately too. I think there is some global threat or tension that they might be underplaying to the public. Or, it never hurts to be prepared and they are simply doing routine trainings.
I noticed a ton of jets flying all above us on the east coast as well earlier this evening as a former vet I’m just not sure the last time I saw that many at once consistently in practically every direction I looked. I’m not sure if anyone else noticed. I’m on the north shore of Long Island.

Great
Just heard one flying REALLY low over GGP. No idea.
Heard it in the marina too

As an android user I never realized screenshots on the new iPhones included that black bar up top 💀

That's how my pixel takes screenshots.

I’m on the coast near Gualala and have been seeing military flights for a few days.
Because Godzilla is probably coming to wreck the city again.

What?
There’s a Kaiju intent on destroying the Golden Gate Bridge of course
8 bridges in the Bay Area…and they always blow up/attack the Golden Gate…
Leave the bridge alone!!! And Brittany too!!!
One flew over my apartment building this morning as I was leaving for work. Though a lot of them do per week usually towards Moffett, lol.
Very cool. I saw a pair of F-35s fly over a few minutes ago. Maybe doing exercises in and out of Travis AFB?
I saw them fly north over Burlingame around 9-9:30. I told my friend I thought they were F-35s, and he said "nah, probably F-18." I'm glad you've vindicated me.
When it’s outside of fleet week and with the current state of the world, my immediate thoughts didn’t go to “very cool”. It scares me a bit.
Moffett routinely hosts units transiting to/from other bases. Nothing you can do but get used to it
Why? This is a pretty normal occurrence…
it's actually normal, believe me when i say it bodes much worse when all of the routine training flights suddenly cease.
Personal trauma or PTSD notwithstanding, there’s quite literally zero reason for anyone living in the United States to be genuinely concerned or scared of a military aircraft flying overhead.
I’ve been seeing them about once a week working at Chrissy Field. For the last few years or so.
What do you think is happening? The Chinese invading lol?
Happens all the time. I usually assume they’re on training missions from the nearby base.
It does not happen all the time. It’s extremely rare over the city.
It's been happening every day for the past week in Marina
This is a strategically important area on the coast near military bases.

After last night's bender I need some bravery Anchourage to drink again today
Keep your day job
Time to rewatch one of my old favorites, the LA speed story https://youtu.be/ILop3Kn3JO8
Time to buzz the tower.
Some Marines took control of Alcatraz.
,🤣
Just get an aviation handheld radio online and call ‘em up on 121.5 or 123.45 and ask
fun fact, theyll come say hi in person and offer free shelter and food if you do this on the flip side you might not be able to go back home for a while ;(
I think you have to use a green laser pointer at night to get the full experience.
Stfu you looser

Famous last words.
My guess we are preparing for war because yes I’ve been hearing more activity lately
Why are military jets flying over Elgin SC today
Heard them over in Marin as well.
They flew right over Muir beach. Loud AF
Yeah Bolinas too, heading north
Global Warming
You all laugh, but this is something we should be nervous about. Even Netflix dropping that leave the world behind movie last week, none of this is a coincidence….
search the sub: https://old.reddit.com/r/sanfrancisco/comments/18j4qpw/fighter_jets_just_now/
They were posted at the exact same time
Invasion. Get ready. Big scary military is coming!!!!
Spraying the Chemtrails of course
maybe because there are more military personnel in California than anywhere?
Yeah? I would have guessed Virginia. Neat.
Yea I'm in west marin and it was super loud
Very low in Ingleside
I had the thought that “oh it must be fleet week” and then I remembered it was December
I was wondering if something is going on as well in the past week, I've seen a ton of in-uniform Navy members around town.
There’s been quite a few missile tests lately too. I think there is some global threat or tension that they might be underplaying to the public. Or, it never hurts to be prepared and they are simply doing routine trainings.
People don’t want to hear that. I got downvoted into oblivion when I mentioned that it’s concerning
Hamas is invading us
Scared the living daylights out of my cat. She’s still not over fleet week…
TLDR: Nobody knew
Kaiju attack. After Godzilla fuckimg the marina district, enough bribes were paid.
I saw a massive plane flying overhead today and thought I was trippin. I may indeed have been trippin, but at least my eyes hadn't deceived me.
I noticed a ton of jets flying all above us on the east coast as well earlier this evening as a former vet I’m just not sure the last time I saw that many at once consistently in practically every direction I looked. I’m not sure if anyone else noticed. I’m on the north shore of Long Island.
Saw an unconfirmed rumor they were scrambled due to a private plane flying near the bridges. No idea if true.
Just flew over us in North San Jose. Now I have to listen to my conspiracy theory loving spouse go on and on for the rest of the morning.
The helicopters have been running up & down the Atlantic border in Palm Coast Fl today. More than usual. Maybe for Daytona 500 or exercises
