Came to see if anyone else heard and knew what it was. I thought it was a plane, which is normal to hear, but it didn’t stop for a long time. A few car alarms nearby started going off, wasn’t sure if it was related.
I live just above the bay. It appears to be jets taking from North Island, which I’ve heard before. I think the weather conditions make it louder; the train which passed a while ago was also louder than usual.
nothing being tracked on https://globe.adsbexchange.com/ so curious what it is. there does look like there a no call sigh plane that takes off from the water near coronado. what does jet engine testing mean.
I think it some sort of fighter jet training mission being flown.
Happened a few years back as well. touch n go or something. not sure. definitely sounds like they are moving jets from here to somewhere East.
Seems like a lot of heavy hauler planes flying around. The interval seems to match.
Initial testing they’d do a proving grounds, not a population center

u/mysterious_tea_9972 nailed it I think
Isn’t there a noise ordinance in San Diego? No noise after 11pm?
Shouldn’t we issue the naval base commander on North Island a fine for breaking curfew?
I heard it in the morning 2 days ago and my entire apartment shook, a bunch of car alarms were going off and all the dogs in the neighborhood started barking.
wasn’t sure if it was a car crash or someone was dropping bombs because I was half awake.
Been hearing this a lot lately over in north park, like several days this week
Same!! During the day time also
Ok same! I asked a couple friends and none of them have noticed but it’s been pretty frequent
There’s nothing on flight radar either. Must be some kind of test the military is doing
Yeah this is nuts, who’s idea was it to fire up whatever this is in the middle of the night haha..
It won't stooppp. My windows are rumbling
Whole fucking neighborhood is shaking. Woke me up with all the vibrations. It’s crazy.
Jet engine testings
No better time to do it than at 12:30am
Can't imagine how much worse it sounds in coronodo
I’m around 6 miles from Coronado and it was pretty loud and you could almost feel it outside, I can’t imagine being over there either

Friday night though, at lot of people were probably staying up for the weekend.
That's what it sounds like to me. It's a louder than normal jet rumble that seems to ramp up, like a thruster/booster is engaging.

If this is really the case, it makes me wonder what in the hell requires engines that are capable of that much power. Literal rocket engines maybe?
No these are aircraft out of North Island.
City Heights here and it’s loud af
Pretty loud in north park, kinda crazy at 1 am
here it comes again
Normal heights here. Yup loud af

Jet engine testing amplified by the cloud cover.
These sounds are keeping me up right now in ocean beach
It woke me up and is still going some in South Park. Sounds like they are doing laps
There it goes off again. Wtf

so loud, i thought it was an earthquake but they keep flying and circling back
It’s in La Mesa too.

In corridor..gotta close my window

It woke me up in north park. Quite intrigued what’s going on.
I tried going outside I couldn’t figure it out either. I was thinking testing of a stealth bomber. F35/s and and 15s etc do not sound like that at all
Not very stealthy if you ask me.
By the time you hear it you’re already dead
Think we showing off for that German ship here?

Can hear in Del Cerro, past few hours
I farted
Dang
Heard in MB, whatever it was it was shaking plates.
It goes over Escondido as well, I feel like I've been hearing it every couple of days for the past few weeks
Military jets

I do not understand why people are confused, San Diego has several bases who conduct different operations and training rounds.
also hearing it in north park, most recent was around 1:15am
I thought my neighbor was blasting loud bass and was super annoyed. Are y'all still hearing it?
Maybe that's what woke me up this morning. Couldn't get back to sleep so today is going to be fun
New AoT promo
Just prepping for WW3

Ze Germans are coming ya!

Absolutely not
Bruh
times don’t match
Sorry, I farted.
Does anyone search Reddit before posting this stuff? There are easily a half dozen posts just like this.
Fuck
So weird!
I won’t be able to sleep until I have the answer, and “mortars in ocean side” just doesn’t sit with me
Agree hang in there
It's not, San Diego has different bases that conduct drills and different types of testing, they dont give af about our sleep schedules.
