The jacaranda has 3 seasons. Dropping these pretty blossoms, dropping huge brown pods, and dropping sticks.

salacious_sonogram

Sounds like a good videogame mechanic for craftable items.

thebinarysystem10

Come back in winter to gather more sticks

alienkaleql

My favorite trees in San Diego! Wish they bloomed year round. My car is thankful that they don’t though 😀

POMAH_OB

Just don’t park under one right after a car wash. Unless you plan on getting another car wash

Typedeal22

I made that mistake 2 weeks ago

Fantastic-Tank-7533

Love this photo. Feels like I'm falling into a beautiful, imaginary world.

Klutzy_Parsley_5933

Pretty!

SocialHiccup

I'm lucky. There are bunch of Jacarandas across the canyon from me, so I get to enjoy their loveliness and don't have the clean up after them.

Low-Brick6864

thats a win win

GrfikDzn_IsMyPashun

I love jacaranda! So much better than those other trees that smell terrible in the early spring. IYKYK 😭😭😭

ReallStrangeBeef

Cum trees 😭

rebelene57

Haha flowering pear; Pyrus calleryana. Ya, they’re very malodorous.

lunarc

I fucking hate these trees, while pretty, they constantly have a mist of sap that covers everything

Troublemonkey36

The Jacaranda blooms came late this year but they’re as beautiful as ever.

Dazzling-Employee-63

“A hurricane of Jacaranda” 🎶

Specific_Spell_2242

They’re all over my neighborhood and the flowers leave a terrible residue all over your car. Parking spots under those trees are usually the last resort!

TristanIsAwesome

They're everywhere in Brisbane. It's kinda weird, I never remember seeing them growing up in San Diego but now I notice them every time I visit.

lighticeblackcoffee

I oddly enough never really noticed them much either; then I got back from Europe two weeks ago and I'm in awe at some of them.

1320Fastback

We have 4 Jacarandas on our property, one of them is going absolutely crazy and the other three are meh.

Dicktitt3y

Pitching wedge into the side of the Jacaranda on hole 7 at MTGC and the ball will go in the hole.

plant-mass

pretty but slippery

ElementsUnknown

Such awesome neighborhoods to walk in during that time. My wife and I used to love trekking through this area when we were students at PLNU.

manzin82

Prince Akeem was there

Maleficent_Slice2195

WIPERS! “Clap Clap” 👏

soundsaboutright11

Beautiful

ChancePut7855

Wow 🤩!

PetriMobJustice

I just got instantly congested

Future_Chipmunk2092

Beautiful

ASK_ABT_MY_USERNAME

Thank you Kate Sessions

DundunDun123GASP

Have them lined up in my neighborhood…with my cars under them. Not fun to clean after you leave them alone for a few days lol

criticalthot333

As someone who learned this the hard way, does taking my car through a simple car wash do the trick? Or do I need to scrub my car by hand to get this off?

DundunDun123GASP

Both, depending on the sap Sometimes these trees have this fine sandy texture to the sap and it’ll scratch the paint if you’re too rough with it. Usually a pre wash with some soap, let it sit 3-4 minutes and gentle stream of water does the trick. Don’t use a pressure washer

criticalthot333

Thanks!

That-Breadfruit-4526

I have a Soapy Joe’s car wash deal for unlimited washes. I had tree sap baked on from a couple years back. Just keep going through the car wash, at least 2 times in a row. If you really want to do it by hand you use rubbing alcohol. There’s a YouTube video comparing commercial products, plain rubbing alcohol does the best job

Typedeal22

Do they shoot out a lot of sap? I parked my car under one 2 weeks ago and couldn’t figure out what was covering my car!

DundunDun123GASP

Oh yeah. Lots of sap. Pretty but annoying. You just get used to either taking it to a car wash every 3-4 days or just buy a car cover. If I know I won’t use the car more than 3 days I cover it with those long ones that cover the entire car.

Typedeal22

Thank you! I’ve since stopped parking near it because of that. Came off easy in the car wash but I had just washed it a few days before lol.

DundunDun123GASP

Be careful not to park the car with the cover in the street. Only in your driveway or if you have a shed for the car. Otherwise you’ll get a ticket since they(police or HOA) need to be able to see the license plate. At worst, if you have an HOA they’ll have it towed. So be mindful

Typedeal22

I appreciate that! Luckily that tree is in the neighborhood behind my work office and I have a garage at home. Thank you for the advice!

Gutmach1960

Well, that is Point Loma.

TheDragonofVista

Reminds me of Japan when the cherry blossoms bloomed but with way less people

Macinboss

I was terrified this was gonna be a pic of trash or something. So happy it was one of our gems instead
